It's ok I guess. The track is interesting but I don't feel any sort of brilliance, at any moment, which is kind of disappointing coming from a guy like Dave Douglas. Should I check the whole album if I only moderately like this one?

Yes. Also check out the NPR concert they did. The three tunes they played on that were awesome.

This is kind of brilliant because of the layer of the instruments, listen to the what the tuba player is doing and the drum too. They are all opposing rhythms but through dynamics and phrasing he brings them all together and releases them again, it's all in the music, this is brilliant, I've never really heard ANYTHING like this before.

Imagine how bold an artist has to be to release in an all brass album in this day and age - with technology the way it is, etc. Good music - hats off to Douglas for having the Kahuna's to tackle a project like this. It's space-age new orleans brass music. I like it!
