why is it that peopl intend to remove the Plastic Sticky cover to the phone? then people wonder why its getting all screwed up from the front....i know someday its going to have to come off. but i think the phone looks best with the plastic rather than nasty finger prints on it...my opinion

you're supposed to remove the plastic cover, it says right on it "Remove Before Use". It's just to protect it in the box, when you're actually using it you need to buy screen protectors.

It does have GPS and works flawlessly.

IM apps, PALRINGO is your friend.

There is a pandora for windows mobile as well.

Completely agree... been palringo-ing for 2 years now great IM app..... if you dont want to pay for VZ nav,,, DONT, the gps is free and works perfectly... just get an app like google maps or something similar.....

Well I am still trying to decide that myself. There are a few things about the TP 2 that I do not like. 1) No flash for the camera 2) E-mail does not work as seemlessly as on a Blackberry 3) Some of the apps I used on my Storm are not available for Windows Mobile and there is also nothing to replace them 4) The resistive touch screen can be a pain and you pretty much need to use the stylus if you are doing anything in depth

honestly... this phone is better than the blackberry if not for any other reason that the apps. that you can download (for free might i add) with window you can pretty much customize anything about the phone that you want.... you cant really do that with black berry... personally i would look into getting this phone... just compare then you will see for your self....

Does the Verizon HTC Touch Pro 2 allow you to download and use Google maps and/or other navigation applications with the phones GPS? Also can you send and receive files such as music and pictures using Bluetooth with this Verizon phone?

Nice, out of the three US versions released so far, Verizon's is the best in both design and price, but Sprint's version looked pretty good as well, T-Mobile's was hideous and did not incorporate a 3.5mm, and I hate the fact that their home screen is that myFaves. Now if only At&t will get of their arses and release their version, which is said to come out early next month, and according to the spec-sheets it should be running WM 6.5 which is why I haven't jumped ship yet.

The phone may be cheaper, but Verizon is asking for more money in other stuff like data plan, voice plan, and texting. So technically, Verizon costs more in the two years than the other networks. The phone just costs less compared to the others.

Yeah, I saw the article on WMexperts. It's a good thing I have a discount on my plan, otherwise I might have to switch to Sprint of T-Mobile--I probably won't go to AT&T because they're just as bad as Verizon, but in the GSM department.

It's a global version, so the Verizon TP2 can roam onto GSM networks as well.

Yeah, I think the only downside to releasing it before Oct. was 6.1, but many folks including myself wouldn't mind upgrading afterwards, so I don't know why At&t didn't just release it pre-Oct, maybe they wanted to give the iphone as much of the lime-light as possible. I heard the upgrade to 6.5 was free, is this true?

Yes, the upgrade from 6.1 to 6.5 is free. I'm not sure if the upgrade from 6.5 to 7.0--when it is rumored to be released in February-ish--will be free as well, however.
