  • Ive been riding dirt bikes for about five years. im pretty dang good. do you still think i should get a 250??

  • @BigT3xan There are a lot of options between 250 and a 600 supersport. You could get a 400cc or a 500cc....even my Ninja 650 would be better suited to you. And a lot cheaper than a 600 supersport.

  • the riders in MotoGP starts at age four

  • I am thinking to buy a bandit 600or 400 ,or a hornet for my first bike

  • haha i was so into the video and when it paused at the taxi with the tree i just couldn't help but crack up!

  • Btw i own a yz 125 right now and am buying a 250 2 stroke dirtbike within a month.

  • Im turning 18 in a couple months and im gonna get my first bike ( know what your thinking Wow not another one ....I know lol) I have allot of experience riding dirtbikes big and small off and on road , I have been looking at a ninja 650 r , have sat on a r6 and didn't feel right to me .Do you think me having dirtbike experience will make a bit of difference getting on a legit street bike?:)

  • I'm too tall/big for a 250 ninja so i was gonna start on a 650r

  • In the U.K you can only ride on bikes with 125cc or less when you first start. I've got a 125 NSR and it's so much fun! Wasn't too expensive so I can throw it around corners at good speed without caring too much if I fuck up and drop it, which I probably will because I'm an aggressive learner haha. But like Mordeth13 said in the video, who gives a fuck it was cheap. If I started on a 600 there's now way I'd be taking corners at the speed I am now.

  • But don't be confused people, I completely agree with his suggestion of starting with a small bike. I actually learned basic riding skills on my little brothers KLX110 pit bike, THEN I got my 125. If I had started on this R1 I have, or even a 600, I would be fucked. This things got a lot of power and I would not have the skills to handle the power and handle freak situations presented to me everyday had I not started on a smaller bike and built my skills up.

  • I'm 17 now, almost 18, and my first motorcycle was a Yamaha YZ125 two stroke dirt bike that I got when I was 16. I rode it up until a couple of months ago, taking several trips to the track where I was hitting most of the jumps. My first street bike, which I got a couple days ago, is a Yamaha R1. Some people might say this is stupid to someone who's never ridden a street bike, but I felt that because I can handle a motorcycle in the air and in rough/sketchy conditions on the dirt, wet or dry.

  • I'm 19 and my plan is to get a Ninja250 this summer (lower insurances), drive it for 4 years until I graduate and get my Bac, then buy a nice R6 at 23 years old when I can afford the insurances and prices.

  • I started with an older 600cc bike. 99 CBR 600. I would agree with most of what you said. There are also other things that makes a 600cc bike not a good beginner bike: The agressive seating position, powerful brakes and the stiff suspension, I crashed once because i pressed the brakes too hard. I have been riding for two years now and just bought my second bike 11' daytona 675 XD. I will be going for my first track day ! :). If i would do it all over again i wouldve started with a smaller bike

  • 21:06 - 21:11

Your answer. But watch the whole video, it's really entertaining.

  • As someone who's driven both a 1100cc Harley and a 125cc vintage Honda cruiser (First bike and I drive it almost exclusively). I have to agree that a new driver should NEVER learn on a higher cc bike. 500cc's for someone who's never driven is just TOO much power, too easy to dump it or worse, actually crash. Not to mention that dumping an expensive bike will cost you a lot to repair. Dump a cheap 250cc or less bike and it's not gonna hurt your wallet too much.

  • as a 17 year old i always wanted a nissan 350z as my first car.now i´m 19,drive a honda crx del sol motegi and thinking back that wish sounds like fucking hilarious shit to me. mordeth said it,when you´re young and you probably don´t even have to pay that shit yourself your ego will overwhelm your rationality. i can´t overtake half the cars on the street but hey I`M FUCKING ALIVE YOU STUPID FUCKS

  • All you guys are pussy's... buy the 1000 and get rid of the training wheels. I don't know why you even made this video. Its pretty obvious that you should not be riding a bike period.

  • @nastybitofcode Says the guy who doesn't have any videos of his own and probably doesn't even know how to ride. Loser.

  • @nastybitofcode You're the type of person who becomes a statistic. There's no pride in going straight to a high cc bike. You don't start learning how to drive manual in a Lamborghini, the same logic applies to bikes. I don't even ride, but I have the logic to realize that.

  • hey, i ride a cagiva mito 125 and i was planning to move up to a 400cc but after your remarks about how bigger bikes handle like a sack of shit, i think iv changed my mind i like 2strokes anyway so i think im going to try and get a 250 2stroke so its easier to throw around haha thanks and nice video!

  • I'm probably going to buy a 250 for my first bike and stick with it for a while - they just seem like a ton of fun from what I've heard.

  • i want an aprilia rs125 as my first bike, they're ment to be one of the best handling bikes in the world and alot of fun

  • @wwfww I've got almost a thousand videos on here. And in all of them I speak 99% the truth. No reason for me to all of a sudden start lying for this video. Story is true. I swear it. And anyone who knows me or watches my videos enough will believe it too. Because I'm probably the most honest blogger on all of youtube.

  • for that we have a law in germany which is that the first two years you have your license your bike has to be powered down to 34 hp. kinda annoying but probably a good thing. i have an xj6 which is a 600 but not a racebike and i really love it.

  • would at ninja 650r be a better choice than a gixxer 600cc?

  • 2 liter chopper 4 1st bike

  • i basically agree with everything you said in the video, but i myself bought a 600 gixxer for my first bike. i'm a special circumstance, as if i were to have bought a smaller bike, i would/will not be in any circumstance to upgrade, financially. my reasoning was something along the lines of "better to brave it out and take it a little easy at first and have fun a few months down the line, rather than learn on a small bike, master it, and be stuck on a small bike"

  • I disagree should have bought the liter bike. I bought the 600 for my first sport bike. Big mistake should have bought the 1000 and grow into it. Bought the 1000 a year later wasted my money on the 600.

  • @nastybitofcode You're an idiot.

  • yes i did have fun did get a 600 as a first bike...but it did cost me a new 600 :P:P

  • even if i wanted a 600 racing bike to start with i wouldnt be able to afford it lol... and what parents would buy their child some machine that goes 200mph and could die in a second

  • my first was Honda cb 450 s '87 reduced, liked it a lot after it is gone.

  • haha i guess im pretty stupid i got a 600 as my first bike ever but im soo glad i did cause a 250 is very slow and underpowered feeling, dont get me wrong though ive ridden them and they are a blast to ride i just wouldnt want one as my everyday bike. i would say 600's not for everyone to start on but its really not that bad an idea

  • i'm 6'2 150 pounds should i buy a cbr600rr,650r ninja,yzf r6 or xj6? i'm really tall to sit on a 250 i look really stupid.if anyone could give me advice i'll really appreciate it

  • Drove an R6 in my military days..I realize it was about ego..Now I ride 250cc series..now I'm a lot more happy...

  • @saviorJay51 Smart man.

  • People should start with a 125cc. Even some 250cc bikes are too much power.

  • i posted on one of your other videos (didn't see this one)....and...i am that 18 yr old with a 600cc bike...with no experience....and after listening to you talk....i feel REALLY stupid...i bought it as a project...on mechanics for HS...but...thank you...after listening to you talk...getting an outside opinion...thanks...i'm gonna go look for a 250 or something...~ Rob

  • My brothers room mates nephews cousin, he got a 600, and he's fine. Just sayin

  • @ElfinHilon10

    I completely agree! lol

  • im actually realky boring and intend to get a 600 and just ride it like a wuss to and from work. people will hate on me but so what! i dont need to impress anyone. ill probably never open up the throttle all the either haha

  • So your gonna buy something like a CBR600RR and not really use it? Buy a Ninja 650 or a FZ6R. Why drop the 5 grand or more on a bike your not gonna use?

  • @WinTheNorth because it makes me happy. I have no desire to ride those other bikes. Those bikes envoke no emotion in me. Whenever i think about the daytona 675 I smile. I'll probably open it up eventually but rarely will I do it.

  • The best first bike is a dual sport 250-500cc. max. control and visibility, you can go off road and be a bit sloppy. If you start too big you get speed insensitive.

  • @TR5T They're kinda intimidating for people lacking in inseam.

  • @cheezgrated Yes of course, the little Yam or Kawa is not so muck in the KLR 34 inch seat range but one you get used to a Dual sport you realize you can make a lot of mistakes and still come out rubber side down.

  • I cleaned my room like you said, and I found some lollies that I was totally craving. Plus it was a pretty good vid anyway. Thanks bro :)

  • Keep em comming mordeth ! :D i love ur vids :D im 15, and have just bought my first 125cc bike. and you have much helpful tips for the future ! thank you! :-)

  • Fiat Panda

  • You may of got this question before, but does Dirt Bike Riding help you with sports bikes, or does not much translate over ?

  • great vid

  • you are talking a load of shit , just do a vlog on your scooter , thats a start .

  • @192america yo stop being rude

  • I love the fact that we have commenter who are going "hurr durr are you talking about all bikes? what about cruisers/supermotos/etc?" No fucking shit he's talking about sportbikes, every other phrase out of his mouth is "600cc racing bike". If you're talking cruisers or supermotos you'll need more than 250cc (4 stroke) just to get on the highway! HP and weight matter a lot more than displacement, I wouldn't recommend more than 60hp for a beginner, regardless of weight.

  • well you made my mind up im getting a ninja 250r

  • Im getting a cbr 125 for my first bike lol

  • Comment removed

  • i used to touch the knee on the ground on a 600 with my 1st bike but then I took an arrow to the knee!

  • Having rode for 45 years on all types of bikes. I agree starting small cc and moving is essential to better riding fun. It also gives way to an intermediate size bike before moving to your final choice. It does give you a chance to know if motorcycles are for you. In my experience motorcycles are not for everyone. Gradual bike size and confidence in riding will determine your future for bike riding.

  • justin beiber got a ferrari at 16... lol idk if it was at 16 to be honest but I know he got one, and I think he ended up crashing it or something. I just thought I'd say that cause that's what I thought of when you were talking at 3:45

  • @SomeBraveGuy his parents didnt buy for him. he bought it himself (if what you are saying is true)

regardless, justin beiber is a fucking moron.

  • Just asking this because I know absolutely NOTHING about sport bikes. I understand the whole "Get a beater so you don't worry about damaging it" due to the fact that I drive a 14 year old Jeep. But does the whole 600cc bike as a bad starter also count towards something such as a Ninja 650 which only has a parallel twin? I have ridden dirt bikes before, but never actually ridden them hard because they weren't mine. Would a 650 parallel twin be a good first bike? Just a yes or no is good. Thanks!

  • @xXUSMCGRIFFXx I think 650s are good begginer bikes myself. They have about 45 less hp than a 600 inline. I started on a cbr600 and I agree with mordeth. I was scared of it for a long time and later then started riding past my own ability. Though I must also say that the extra power got me out of a few close calls where cars came into my lane n such. I now have a cbr 954 (dumb) and it has way to much power for the streets. I recently bought a gs500 and its the most fun I've ever had on a bike.

  • @camelface1 Thanks, I was kind of thinking I would need the extra power of a 650 twin because I live in the dead center of the Appalachian Mtns. in PA. I (hopefully) have enough experience to be able to handle it, I guess we'll find out in about a year or two when I go to get one

  • i love TAIWAN!

  • When I have the licenses i plan on getting a Hyosung GT125 when im 17 till 19 then saving money to buy and insure an old Kawasaki ZX6R , is this a good idea or does someone have any other ideas for me as ill be using it for travel and for weekend rides.

  • Am I the only one who (after just getting license and in doubt what kind of first bike to buy) actually doesn't want to go aggresive or stunt right from the bat, but really really wants to know how to recognise all conscious and subconscious signs from both bike and body and lets not forget road and other drivers? What kind of bike to get... A sturdy second hand bike, not small or big, not powerful or weak, all goldilocks-like. I want the concentration to worry about me, and not about my bike.

  • The fact that every accomplished racer on the planet has started small and worked their way up speaks volumes about the importance of having a machine that matches your ability. It amazes me how a bunch of guys with no riding experience have convinced themselves that full-on race bikes are the only thing they won't get "bored" of too quickly. Start doing some track days, and you'll realize the how much you still need to learn as you're getting passed by accomplished riders on "beginner" bikes.

  • Common sense is actually rare haha.. As we have witnessed from people who buy 600cc bikes as their first ;D

  • Is it okay to start with a 400cc or 250cc bike?

  • @231510josh

    Yes.

  • Ok Hear up new riders and when i say new i mean like NEEEEW you've never driven a bike before or anything like that I THINK a perfect bike for you to start on would honestly be a 125 or 150 ...250 is MAX if you're a completely new rider! This is only my opinion if u want a big clumbsy hard to handle first bike then go for it! but remember this! the smaller the more agility it has! the bigger the harder it is to handle!

  • I got a r6 as a first bike with no past riding experience. Its a 2000 with over 25k miles. It was much cheaper than a ninja 250r. For the first month, i didn't go hard on it at all and i still crashed twice but very minor crashes. It will happen! I can say that a it wasn't easy to learn to ride but it wasn't hard. So my advice would be stay away from 1000s and newer 600s. Bike's gotta be cheap and you gotta be comfortable. Just gotta take it real easy.

  • If you get a 600 race bike for your first bike, you have one or two issues:

    1) You want to get hurt

    2) you have someone who will b e with you at all times when you ride who will make sure you wont be stupid.

Dont get a 600cc bike, too many squids are jumping onto super bikes and claiming to be competent riders. I started on a 700cc naked bike that had 70 hp. EVEN THAT was too much to start on.

Small bikes build strong riders, dont be a squid.

  • my first bike was when i was 16 it was a puma forth series.. i love that bike to death

  • In New South Wales, Australia the LAMS restricts young learner riders to bikes that are <660cc and <150kW/tonne for a minimum 3.5 years.

That's a maximum 40 horsepower per 440 pounds of bike and there's now a market for LAMS bikes such as the Ninja 650RL, Ducati Monster "659" and the Hyosung GT650RL - all restricted to comply with the power regulations.

Result: Still better off with a RS125, Ninja250R or GS500F

  • man i love this video

  • *correction first bike i ever rode was a harley Night Rod Special VRSC.

  • Basically my first bike was a BMW s1000rr. It is my dads but he doesnt ride it. it was the first bike i ever rode. Im 17. i will admit im scared of it. i wish i would have gotten a 600 first.

  • @fearmrfox1414 "He acts like a pro, but drives a moped" I own 4 bikes at present. And one of them is a race modified Kawasaki Ninja. And I've been riding MOTORCYCLES for about 18 years now.

  • @13mordeth M13 Don't get mad I would put cash on it that he's from the U.S. Hell in the U.S. there is a rare few people over there that even knows how to take a turn right on a motorcycle LoL.

  • @fearmrfox1414 at least do some research on his channel because you just make yourself look like a dumbass.

  • @fearmrfox1414 words of an ignorant, dumb fucker!

  • @fearmrfox1414 Hello Person who doesnt know anything about M13....YOU my friend should watch more of his videos before you open your yap and start talking something you think is smart but in reality is 100% False

  • @fearmrfox1414

    parents related buddy?

  • @fearmrfox1414 He pretty much is a pro, deuce.

  • AMEN! You tell em, Mordeth. haha

  • i started on a 1200 sportster harley i rode on that about a year now and i want to get a sport bike but i rode a 250 and didnt care for it to much not enough power for me then i got on a 600 and it kinda scared me but i would say a 250 would be a better starter bike and wait until your better at riding

  • why aren't you making new videos ?

  • @speedjunk121 ??? I am. I upload one or two videos every single day.

  • in germany you are forced by law to ride a bike with max. 34 HP for the first 2 years. if you have more power, you gotta restrict it to 34 HP. this counts for people under the age of 25, if you're over 25, you can just ride what you want (not that it's recommended).

many people think this rule sux but it's absolutley required

  • I bought my first bike about 2 weeks after watching this video. While what you said did make a lot of sense I still got a 650cc bike, and SV650S with a 33bhp restrictor. This has actually been a rather sensible choice for me as it doesn't have to much power and the torque makes the bike easy to manage. The only downside has been the weight. I have dropped the bike twice both times on my drive whilst staionary. But since it was only half faired I only needed to replace the indicators.

  • Is a cbr600rr a good 2nd bike?

  • I know you said you didnt want this, but im 17 and iv been on my honda cbr600 f3 33bhp, i use it as a sport tourer and i have never been in a sticky situation, but i do agree that getting a race bike like the rr or a daytona or gsxr is slightly suicidle

  • My first bike was a 600cc. I've had it for... 4 seasons. I've never died!

  • After sometimes for survey & I aim for XJ6 diversion. Cause this bike now has CKD ( local assembly ) it was cheap now. Cost malaysia ringgit about $42k. & I have see the spec. it was just 76 hp. & do you think is it ok for me? Cause I already have some experience with bike.

  • Hi! I am from Malaysia. How are you M13? about me, when I was 18 I started take licence & my 1st ride wasn't my motorcycle. It was my dad motorcycle. & it is a 110cc suzuki GSX. & I ride it for quite few years. & then I drive car for few years too. Cause of work condition. & I still love to ride bike. & before this I think to own a Kawasaki 250cc but it cost quite high about Malaysia ringgit $22k at that time I wasn't have money to buy.

  • i am 17 and i hav a fzr600 and i rag the shit out of it. it only duz what you want it ot do ................. so ye. but i did hav a dna 50 as my first bike and i can rely get my knee down on that. that was a right laf

  • Comment removed

  • Start off low, it makes it so much more fun when you open up on a 600 after you are used to opening up on a 150 or a 250, if you don't shit your pants or flip the bike of course, but if you had a 250 chances are you can at least have an Idea of how to work shit up. My first bike I drove fucking everywhere, by the 3rd year I owned it I probably put on 20-30k miles on it and I HAD to get rid of it, but 2k 250cc bike, 75mpg, probably the money I saved in gas alone paid half if not all of my 2ndbike

  • also when straddling a bike should your feet be almost flat, flat with straight legs, or flat with a little bend in the knee

  • I'm new to motorcycles and I have a question about what to get. I'm 5'11'' 230lbs and will do everything from 35mph city to ~80 highway on a regular basis. I fully agree that driving the hell out of a bike is more fun than worying about scratchin paint. i need to know if a 250cc would handle what i want with ease or if a 600 would be better? i would rather not pay for a 600 but i need to know. 250 or 600? also any good suggestions for reliable brands/models would be nice. thanks

  • im getting an sports bike as first bike but it's 125cc =) YZF R125 (very good bike)

  • I 100% agree with you m13, I'm getting ready to buy a 250 for my first bike. And if you think about it if someone getting a bike just to ride on the streets with, a 250 is prefect if you compare it to the road rules. Here where I live the fastest speed limit is 70MPH, a 250 will do 70 no problem and still have room to do 90+

  • I rode dirtbikes since I was 9 then got my 650cc at 17 lol. The dirtbike experience helped me alot. Roads are easy compared to dirt

  • too bad thi vid only talks about sport bikes, cruisers are a great place to start. its what i started out on, but i drive 45min to school and 45 back so i wanted a more comfortable ride. got into habit quick of scraping bottom trying lean it over too much lol

  • my first bike was kawasaki zx1000cc, but before that, i used to bmx for 6yrs.

  • Mordeth, does your opinion concerning that topic only refer to SPORTbikes or bikes in general? Because you say sportbikes here, but i´m not sure if you mean only them. Because if you watch Supermotos for example (let´s say ducati hypermotard 796! or Aprilia dorsoduro 750! --> both alot of ccm), they do not have that much hp. The Duc has i think around 77hp and the Aprilia 91hp. Even though they have a LOT of ccm.....would those bikes be good for a beginner?

  • @Vansynoob I started on an '80s Honda cb550 and it was a great first bike. Around 65hp, low center of gravity helps, and I can still hang with my buddy on his cbr600rr. However I'm ready for a sportbike.

  • @Vansynoob

91hp in an Aprilia Dorsoduro chassis is still a lot of goddamned bike for someone who has never been on one before. Not that long ago, it was rare for a motorcycle to have nearly 100hp; now it has somehow become many people's "minimum." An Suzuki SV650 for example has around 70hp and is still faster at sub-100mph speeds than most sports cars. The Kawasaki KLX250SF, Yamaha WR250X, Suzuki DR-Z400SM, etc. are good starter bikes. Not the ~$10,000 units from Italy.

  • Hello m13, im a new subscriber. and i really enjoyed this video. it was informative, and i believe i wont grab a 600cc bike, but i am a fast learner, so no promises haha. it all depends on how quickly i pick it up in school.

  • @NoMoreZipties in addition, ill update you with my experiance, but i wont disclose what size bike i attained.

  • don't be mad at me m13, but my first bike was a gsxr 600. I got it when I was 16 and I never drove a car before.

  • personally i think it would be best to start out with enduro or trail riding so you can work on getting used to riding a bike. get a 125 cc 4 stroke or something like that. After a while it would be good to get a bigger size or the same if you go for a 3 stroke and get a feal for the power. Then you should look around for some smaller bikes like a 250 or 500 ninja and learn to ride on the street. then go for 600-750 cc bikes probably the best. also older bikes have less power so thats a option.

  • it's sad when a scooter passses you 4:28

  • HEY, I BOUGHT MY SON A PORSCHE GT2!

  • Here in hungary you can get 125+cc bikes after 2 years with 125 or less cc license.

And if you are 15 year old you can already have a 50cc scooter.

  • I took the MSF course and started with a 400cc standard style bike. After about 800 miles I bought a gsxr 750. So far I have put 2100 miles on the gsxr in two weeks. This was a very easy and natural transition for me, but I would not recommend a racing bike for anyone else. Racing bikes require experience and or talent to handle safely. Objectively gauging one's own driving ability is very difficult to do; everyone believes they are "above average," but obviously this is impossible.

  • I want a scooter to start with now!

  • Hey Mordeth, after watching your video I have one big question, you mentioned that riders started out on 150cc progressed fastest, I am thinking of getting the Ninja 250, would that be good enough or would I benefit more on a 150cc. My goal is to ride confidently,to pop wheelies and do stoppies with ease. Please let me know! Thanks!

On another note, if I were to progress upward, I would like to get a Ducati Monster 696 after the 250 ninja, is that too much? What do you suggest? Thanks again!

  • well, my dad's cousin's co-worker's neighbor's friend's neighbor bought a 1000 motorcycle he crashed and died

  • @MrAtomicfireball well, my grandpa's brother's wife's cousin's father's neighbor's co-worker's boss's son's friend's sister's husband got a fireblade and five years later, he's still alive in LA traffic. So yeah...

  • love the vids!

i,v just started to ride a 125cc gilira couga (think i spelt that wrong) which looks bigger and sound better then a normal 125cc i would highly recommend them if upu are wanting to start out but not wanting something to big and also dont wanna look chavey hehe

iv been riding for two years and started out om a 50cc moto-roma stinger (called bumble) and the fun i had on it was amazing. i wasent affraid to drop it and it was quick enough for my very first moped plus

  • in Croatia(Europe) we have a law that you can drive a 125cc bike when your 16, thats called A1 categori, and with 18 you can drive 250cc or with 32KWh thats called A2 and if you have A2 for 2 years you can drive A categori 600 or more. But the thing is first drivers licence costs 1000$ A1 and A2 and A are 500$ each ITS FREAKING EXPENSIVE.

  • @Klatimudan666 im 16 and i drive a 125cc naked bike.Im gona drive it for 4 years and gona buy a Yamaha R6

  • i love your videos but i dont agree with your opinion on this subject. your entitled to your opinion but everyone i have talked to that bought a 250cc ninja (because thats one of the best 250cc you can get) get bored of it in 3 months and kick themselves in the ass for getting it. same thing happened to me.

  • @slash4217 On your 250....were you getting your knee down on the corners? Were you doing wheelies? Were you quicker than guys on 600s and 1000s? If you answered no to those questions then that means you didn't come close to riding the bike at it's full potential.......and even though you couldn't ride the bike well you still "got bored" of it and got a more difficult bike. If people buy bikes just to ride lazily and to only go fast in straight lines....then yeah, perhaps they could start bigger

  • @13mordeth Bought myself a 600cc Ninja(gpz600r) as a first beginner bike. Not even close to tapping the full potential of that bike and half the time a little nervous and scared of crashing or speeding too fast....checked out a Ninja 250 a month later and fuck me cuz it was light, easy to handle, and i was speeding in the damn thing and having way more fun and experimenting way more with this. Bought the 2005 ninja 250 a week later (used) and plan on riding the crap out of it.

  • @13mordeth I agree completely, I love my 1975 Honda Cb 125, I fully restored it, and I have been learning how to ride. I was obsessed with fast cars, but now this little bike is much more fun than any car. I have been riding for 3 weeks, but I knew within 10 minutes it was the best thing I had ever done.

  • @slash4217

You're not coming ANYWHERE close to riding ANY bike at it limits after just 3 months of riding. Motorcycling is about more than cracking the throttle open on the interstate seeing how fast you can accelerate. Most 250's hold their value pretty well. Ride the snot out of it, actually develop a damn foundation of good riding skills so you're not just another clueless squid, and then sell it for close to what you paid.

  • haha, i love this video and agree completely. the reason I think you dont start with a 1000cc bike is because you havent perfected your rider posture, and when you accidentally lay on the throttle too much, you are going to jerk forward and lay more onto the gas. thats the way i see it. until you learn how to ride with proper form you shouldnt handle large motorcycles and people that start off with large bikes will probably just be impulsive and get themselves killed. hope this makes sense 0.o

  • Im only 12 but I can easily drive a car and motorcycle... Please dont reply with "youve obviously never driven before! kid" Trust me Ive been driving both motocycles and cars since the age of 8, yes in town. I dont care if you belive me... Anyway. Should I buy a ninja 250rr 2 stroke as a first motorcycle? I've driven 120cc scooter, and a 400 racer but I didnt hit the throttle too much

    so should I buy a 250rr 2stroke?

  • my first is a 738cc.... iy is my dads... hey its free why not!

  • happy canada d'eh Mordeth !!

  • Im in the UK and you can only ride a 125cc bike untill you have passed your full bike test. I have been riding a 125 bike for almost year now, do you think a used 600cc bike will work for me after i passed my full test?

  • @JimmyGrimbleRB i was just about to ask that, by the way did you ride a 50cc at 16? just wondering:)

  • @TommTheDinosaur No I started when I was 18 on a 125 :)

  • I think you should emphasize the point that a 600 cc bike can be faster than a 650. 600cc racing bikes include inline-fours that are meant for high performance. A ZX-6r will smoke a 650r, even though the engine is physically smaller. Just a little point to make.

My first bike I got is a 2006 Ninja 650r and I love it. It's big enough for me, but not so expensive or high-powered that I will run into problems.

  • What bike would you recomend getting for a first bike I can only go up to a 125 cc just now

  • or u can go past all that shit and get a supermotard

  • Hit the brakes hit the brakes, but the problem is you dont have breaks, <:0

  • I totally agree with you 600 is just to big and powerful to start out on. I learned that from watching my brother on his ninja 500 total it out doing burn outs and wheelies. Get something cheap like a 150 maybe a 250 max if you live in the states. I havy a 150 super 8 and luv it its awesome scooter, Prolly gonna get a 150 qunnon. Honestly 13m knows whats hes talking about. If you honestly want a 600 and lay it over a couple of times and prolly get yourself killed thats fine.

  • in belgium you gotta be 24 to buy a motorcycle 125cc+

  • @kenny4903 hahha in mexico if you know how to ride you can drive whatever you want for example a 7 yr old can drive a r1, just by wearing a helmet, thats the only requirement

  • @halesargent2 that's just awesome here you gotta be 17 to drive only a 50cc bike

  • I want a ninja 250 cuz I've always felt more comfortable on two wheels. I've been riding dirt bikes for 9 years. The only reason my parents don't want me to get one is cuz of other drivers who are irresponsible :(

  • @TheRealFuzzySalsaa Same here bro! lots of drivers don't use their car mirrors or turn their head to look out if there's a motorcycle beside them and just change lane. especially the girls, they like they don't know what a motorcycle is.

  • I'm reading that there are less and less 2-strokes being imported into USA because of pollution or something, but listening to 13mord really makes me want to look for a 150-250cc "2-stroke." >.< (I've yet to get my first bike yet).

  • I really wanted my first bike to be a 250, but it doesn't make sense for me to go out my way to get one. In Britain there aren't enough small motorcycles. There's a huge void between 125 and middleweight bikes that is only filled by the pricey 250 Ninja. I can't afford the Ninja, so I'm getting a 650 Gladius, because it's just more convenient.

  • Thank you very much Mordeth. I wasn't sure what kkind of bike to get. My dad who rides a fatboy harley suggested a 600cc so I could have fun on it, but after listening to this vid, I'm probably gonna aim for a 250 to start. Thank you for this video!

  • 8:31 is just his christmas stree....

  • no

  • What happened to all of the other videos u uploaded b4 this one?

  • man I always forget you're talking KPH. I was wondering what fucking cruiser goes 180mph! let alone 180mph on a sidewalk...

  • @13mordeth Although I totally agree with you, I'm 23 years old, and I'm starting lessons on a 250cc bike to practice controls and handling and stuff, but after about half of the lessons, which is about 15x 1.5 hours... I'll go to 500cc or something alike... then have lessons on that with a very experienced teacher. more then 250cc is forbidden if your not yet 21... because of your reasons exactly..

    keep up the video's :)

  • I've clocked hours on a 150cc and a 650cc, sat on a 600cc bike once. I personally prefer the 150cc, and it is good enough for commuting! mind you I am a heavy man. The 150cc is so forgiving, cornering is MUCH easier! I still can control it when i did an almost wheelie. I've dropped the 650 before on a slow tight corner which the 150 could have done easily. And it was hard to lift it up because it was so heavy! I've learnt much more on the 150 than the 650.

  • im in the uk iv been riding a 125 cbf for 1 1/2 year im a larger man and i still hade lots of fun iv now got a 2011 gsx-r 750 fast as hell lol im glade i hade the time on a 125 if i did my cbt then full licens went strate on the 750 i would be dead would tell all ppl to get a 125 ish then go up mid im now looking in to a suzuki hayabusa 1340cc getting all the time in on the 750 now for the jump up love suzki more than honda now lol get on a 125 have fun

  • I appreciate this video lol dam I didn't think about how a strong 600cc+ would be...I am going to reorganize my list for what motorcycle im going to get
