From what i see, Forza 3 has more of a "light" game, better for drifting and stuff. Makes it fun and realistic.
GT5 (Prologue) has a much heavier feeling. I personally like both. I find it hard to compare which is a better game when one focuses on reality (visuals physics etc..) and another focuses on (gameplay.. sorry if i can't up with more, I haven't played the game)

Driving in the real world you have a much better view than you do on a TV screen. bumper view gives you a clear view of the road, something youd have driving a real car, and you see the tach easier than cockpit view.. I mostly play in cockpit for fun.. but if im trying to actually race id rather use bumper.
If the cockpit view was actually situated so you could...see the rearview mirror and the driver's head moved took look further ahead in the turns, it'd be fine (like in hairpins you'd be pretty much looking through the side windows)

The franchise is losing its simulation edge while trying to cater to the casual player. Must we really drive the same old group of tired out tracks yet again? Wait a year for the price to drop before buying this.

@10svenk ? lost with ur comment, but ill say this. The Ford GT does not have paddle shifters(in real life) and I do know that when FM3 came out the guy(in cockpit view) did not act like he was shifting until the update.
Sad to say, but forza3 is arcade rubbish compared to forza2. I expected things to improve - not dumb down. You'll get 720p, 60fps and high poly cars, but the tracks are exactly the same (or uglier) and the simulation part is thrown out the window. Online modes suck too. I will stick with forza2. :(

theres a trick to adjusting the cockpit view actually, it has just been descovered, it has to do with the multi screen setup, i would explain it but its 4 in the morning here and im going to bed.....
YOu say its a 3 screen setup, when its not. Then you adjust the degrees in the menu settings, so you can adjust how far or close you are to the steering wheel.
Supposedly called the FOV trick. It actually works really well.
I'm sure Turn 10 can do it, but they would need time to do it because it's not a simple fix. Then the game release would be delayed. I'm sure you don't want that to happen, do you?
That's ok... I wouldn't mind. Great things are not rushed! What they need is for you to see further back and shift animation.. and I think that's it, rest of the game looks great.

I know some Turn 10 staff on xbox live and through Forza Forums. The reason there's no shift animation is because there were problems with it. The problem was that when the driver shifted the hand would go through the steering wheel, which created a really sloppy effect. To you, it might sound like an easy fix, but if it was an easy fix they would've fixed it right? Besides they scrapped the idea because it would take too long to fix before the deadline and release and cause delays in release
But can they fix it later on and make it a free thing that you download? Plus I waant to see the entire cockpit! not just the top quarter of the wheel and a window.... :( I love this game but it broke my heart
Slavoid, I doubt it will be fixed. You have to remember that the Xbox 360 is using 4 year old technology. Not everything people want can be included in the game. Be happy that they were able to do so much on an xbox, while some of the newest gaming computers might have trouble doing the same thing.

NFS Undercover is worse :-) I played that game for exactly 10min...I drove around and never used my brakes...OH look a 180 degree turn, just click my handbrake and voila !

Yeah NFSS obviously has good graphics and will be fun I'm sure, but Forza takes the cake when it comes to realism as far as racing goes. I do admit the in car view for NFS looks really good, but that's not all I'm concerned about.
This game will dominate NFSS. The people who made this game did their homework and Forza 1 and 2 are proof of that. NFSS will be another arcade game with lame physics, pretty much gauranteed. I dont even want to compare the two. I'm not saying NFS games aren't fun, but for all you true racing enthusiasts, Forza is the way to go.

I have both a PS3 and an XBOX. I bought GT5P. Ok, 70 cars 4 tracks. No damage. No custimization, no online play. Rolling starts. I bought forza 2. With all of the above and 350 cars about 60 tracks. Ummm...to tell you the truth everyone, why the hell would I not say Forza is better. I keep hearing about GT5, GT5 but umm its not coming out till God knows when. And FM3 is out in less than 2 months. I have both and quite frankly I'm tired of the GT5 bullshit bc who knows when we will see it.

it's a shame you can't adjust the cockpit view to be able to see more of the interior. Like you could do in Test Drive Ulimited.
I've been playing grid whilst waiting for Forza 3.

set screen to "center",
set host on,

This game will dominate NFSS. The people who made this game did their homework and Forza 1 and 2 are proof of that. NFSS will be another arcade game with lame physics, pretty much gauranteed. I dont even want to compare the two. I'm not saying NFS games aren't fun, but for all you true racing enthusiasts, Forza is the way to go.

I mean I like both systems...but truthfully after the novelty of having a PS3 and GT5P wore off, it was just shitty physics and 4 tracks, 70 cars. I'm tired of the fanboy shit. How could us PS3 owners deny the fact that FM3 has more to offer. Yeah GT5 will have 1000 cars supposively. But theres no custimization too those cars and everything else Forza has to offer is better. Maybe i'll see GT5 in 2011. But until then its like PS3 owners are defending a game thats not even an actual game yet.

I have both a PS3 and an XBOX. I bought GT5P. Ok, 70 cars 4 tracks. No damage. No custimization, no online play. Rolling starts. I bought forza 2. With all of the above and 350 cars about 60 tracks. Ummm...to tell you the truth everyone, why the hell would I not say Forza is better. I keep hearing about GT5, GT5 but umm its not coming out till God knows when. And FM3 is out in less than 2 months. I have both and quite frankly I'm tired of the GT5 bullshit bc who knows when we will see it.

Don't get me wrong, visually brilliant game, but the physics are garbage, the damage is pathetic, come on, body doors falling off was so ps2, how often do you watch a race and see em wall grind then the next thing you see.. the car is still mint except it seems to be missing a door!
If you really thing GT damage is 10 times better then Forza, you are just showing how much you're getting milked by the GT series

Ha Ha, Kaz himself, said that 170 will have damage and that from the 830 most will be from GT4, Youtube output?, Forza 3 has an ingame video editor from which you can upload. GT5's damage is still whack, bumpercars with no realisitc effect. Forza 2 has better damage, each part of the car get's scratched and dented, glass, lights shatter. AND it had physics damage!(TWO YEARS AGO!!!) Car wash!!!!, In Forza the cars actually get dirty by driving them!!!
