ECW is also advertised during RAW,SD and the WWE PPVs to the largest wrestling audience in the world. The fact that TNA barely advertises at all and still gets nearly the same ratings as ECW & destroyed ECW in the ratings the night they went head to head.That's just looking at the USA ratings. If u wanna look at other countries like UK & Australia, TNA beats ECW in the ratings. This all equals a big FAIL for WWE & ECW no matter how you look at it.

The problem is not that TNA listened to its fans. I have yet to see any indication of TNA really listening to its fans in about 2.5years. The problem is that they chose this angle as a way to rib Mike Tenay for his real backstage demeaner when it is a waste of time. Why is TNA worrying about gigging Mike Tenay when it has problems far worse than the announce team? I am not even going to say who's type of writing this reeks of. Anyone who witnessed WCW's last days knows already.

So basically because the storyline is that West thinks Tenay is an asshole he now starts supporting the heels, dogging AJ and the faces who he always marked for and supporting the MEM? Much sense it does not make. It is little things like this that hurt TNA Impact week in and week out. Overall a little bit better show than last weeks wrestling wise but still lacking.

It makes no sense for him to be a heel though. Don West has always marked for TNA faces. His role has basically always been a cheerleader because he certaintly isn't a good announcer. The reason that heel announcers worked back in the day is because they were heels that turned announcer. Two of the greats were Jesse Ventura and Bobby Heenan. Don West just doesn't have the heel credibility that they do. It already comes across as sort of forced and this is just the beginning.

Not saying that it couldn't potentially work, but you need a reason for him being heel bigger than he is just pissed off at Mike Tenay. If Mike Tenay is the asshole that doesn't stand up for his friends in meetings, that makes him a bigger heel than West.

I agree. but really i blame the know it alls who swear that Don West is the worst thing to happen to announcing. I really enjoy Don West as announcer. He was such a good guy and seemed genuinely excited about the product. He sounds too forced trying to be a heel and I always felt that they needed a heel announcer to counterbalance Mike and Don being good guys. Kinda like Bobby the Brain was in WCW when you had him w/ Tenay, Schiovanne...

I have been a proponent of the 3 man announce team for TNA for quite a while now. It was a formula that worked very well for WCW. They wouldn't even necessarily need a heel unless they could find a legit one. Even adding another strong voice would go along way to cut down on Mike Tenay's problems with being high pitched and squealy. You would basically have a lead annoucer, Mike Tenay to chime in with facts which is where he excells and Don West to be the rah rah cheerleader.
