the original singer was Joseph Webster who sang it in 1868. there is an online website where you can listen to all the old Lutheran hymns for free, and the music is non stop. you can listen for 24hours automatic play as long as you have plugins like quick time player.

@BenAliGtor There's nothing wrong with composing their appreciations to God. So there can't be hymns that are "better" than any other hymns or Christian Contemporary music. For those who say so do not truly understand the meaning of the songs themselves.
