She is great.. very sweet,.. Lineage Bauls are Vaishnava, they are philosophers, poets, they sing in Bengali but the lineage bauls would have learned sanskrit, all things Indian... They are from an oral tradtion... and very learned about Tantra, Yoga ect.... They embrace pearls from Buddhism, Hinduism, Sufi.. A sufi will be Sufi.. and Buddhist will be Buddhist but Bauls are the Peace makers of the world and will be with no one and everyone. .. They are God intoxicated Mystics..
warsi10 -- so far i know my information is correct. They t treat their spouses as God. If you know more then you could have shared your valuable (?) knowledge..............
I don't think Deb's wrong... as a matter of fact in mystic, sufi and baul traditions(which are influenced by each other to a certain extent and very tolerant of each other) one's lover or spouse is often a metaphor for the ultimate one - Love in mystic terms is love of the highest nature - for the creator, often referred to as the lover/spouse.
Actually, bauls are both Hindus and Muslims, and songs can tilt in either direction, completely pantheistic or monotheistic. However, both types give tremendous emphasis on the preciousness of the human soul, celebrate love for God.
At times, its the uncertainty and vulnerability that make it so human.

I am grateful to have found Baul today. I love the music though I cannot understand a word of it. Something is transmitted from heart to heart.

Hello Beretep. I like this music so much. And also to see the little train film in the end, with her warm smile. Do You have more material like that?

I don't think so, Debdina. They don't treat their spouses as God. Please be sure about before you make comments.
