This thread is so entertaining that I actually have to make my first post in a year. First thing, I grew up on Iron Maiden, just so you know. A7X are far from untalented, believe me. I've been a musician for 30 years and these songs are nothing at all alike, believe me. As far as the Papa Roach, you can pick up influences even subliminally as a musician. I wrote a song with that exact riff about 15 years ago and joked about Papa Roach ripping me off. It's actually from a Motley Cure song.
"Motley Crue", that is. "Piece of your Action". And finally, no one is going to get "rich" borrowing solos and musical passages. It's the song that sells the music, not a 20-second run.

First of all, most of the A7X song is minor and the Maiden was Major, but all that aside, you're saying that if a band uses a scale that has been used by another band, it's a total ripoff. Also, how is A7X "trying to get famous" by ripping off Iron Maiden? By the time Waking the Fallen was out, A7X was already huge.
@zfelps The only difference between major and minor is what note of the scale the melody uses as the root. It gives it a slightly different sound. The point is that the melodies are extremely similar. Whether it's major or minor is really irrelevant.

The "solo" for Chapter four isnt a solo, it is a melody, with two guitars harmonizing, solo means 1, not 2. its called an interlude which is a transition from on verse to another. @zfelps The only difference between major and minor is what note of the scale the melody uses as the root. It gives it a slightly different sound. The point is that the melodies are extremely similar. Whether it's major or minor is really irrelevant.

Then it was a completely different riff that may or may not have been influenced (Like thats a big deal anyways). The rest did not sound similar at all? first of all...sure the intros sound a little similar except theres way more depth in Chapter Four's intro. and second, that "solo"...not a solo my friend, listen to the solos in To End the Rapture, Beast and the Harlot, Nightmare, Victim, Second Heartbeat...those are real Avenged Sevenfold solos, rather than a transition that you somehow mistake for a solo

The "solo" for Chapter four isnt a solo, it is a melody, with two guitars harmonizing, solo means 1, not 2. its called an interlude which is a transition from on verse to another. The actual solo from chapter four is ONE guitar. if you wanna listen, the solo in that song is 4:23 to 4:50. suck my dick hater and get your shit straight

The problem isn't them blatently ripping off I think it's the fact that a lot of metal songs sound the same. Their are different accents on different notes but virtually all metal is in the same key, have similar riffs. I love metal but this is kind of a problem.

Tons of people are inspired by Iron Maiden. Even Lady Gaga likes them, and I'm not making that up. Avenged Sevenfold can't even be compared to Iron Maiden, because they are 2 very different styles of Heavy Metal. I don't really like Avenged Sevenfold or any bands like that. I love Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and just about any NWOBHM, along with Manowar, who is from America, and I like a lot of other music too.
