  • When he's done it, imagine that huge footprint of this around the globe flight.

    Including

    engeneering & manufacturing the plane

    & the test flights

    & the technical support

& the press (cars and electricity)

& the ilumination of the museum where this plane will be issued after this major flight,

& all the computers watching the videos here on Youtube.

With this footprint You could jet 10'000times around the world.

I mean: Nothing against tecnology but this is just wasting of resources!

  • @SH1974 , Yup and these solar planes can not fly in any kind of turbulence. But like cars a hybrid version might be good,,, also have a back up system ..

  • very nice

  • you see some fat ass watching lol

  • They will probably combine it with traditional propulsion to begin with

  • How that other plane can fly in 2013 over the whorld , if in 2012 whorld whill end :D

inposible , ant way awsome idea .

  • this will save a lot of money and on the other hand will spend alot of money on these planes

  • @maggokaggoerabbo yeah and it will be far more effortable to train pilots making flight even more safer

  • What's next? Solar powered space flight?

  • super!

  • This is a remarkable and exciting achievement which will drive still further achievements in photovoltaic solar and battery technologies. I look forward to how their night flight testing and the further progress which will make similar aircraft and other contemporary-technology vehicles more common in the future!

  • great, but I agree it's only good for very light planes so use would be limited until better lighter solar cells come avaiable, but then we will be saved!!!!!!

  • yeah how lite is that thing ..this plane is useless .. never gunna be a fighter ...never gunna be for commercial use BOO

could be the start of something great for distand future commercial flights who knows

  • @LackoJam you're right, it really seems like a waste of solar power, I mean, why do we bother trying anything, ever?

  • @Willcwf hey im not talking about the waste of solar power ..i mean i get you being sarcastic and all ..cute really .. but its not about the "waste of solar power" its about the waste of time and energy

  • Wicked!

It gives me hope that human beings will someday demand that these brilliant technologies be implemented, fully, doing away with the poluting technologies. :-)
