This phone is one of the biggest pieces of garbage I have ever owned. I've had it for three weeks and I'm getting rid of it before my first month is out. It freezes up constantly and I have to remove the battery to get it to work again. I have to do it several times a day. I really wish I had never bought the Galaxy Precedent. This phone is a piece of trash.
@CNubel It does freeze up sometimes especially if you have more than one app running. It helps if you run one app at a time. Also, you should move any apps you download over to the SD card so that's there's more phone memory available to run the app.
@ShakenFoe As long as the signal's there, the call quality is fine. The touchscreen auto-lock is a bit of a pain for phone menus that require the dial pad. Video-based stuff like games or YouTube eats up the battery in a couple of hours. Otherwise it's fine for the day and then you can charge it overnight.
@Mrvituhmincguy Current plan is to do an Optimus 2X review when it's released. Judging by the specs, I would expect the Q to run stuff a little faster, but I don't know.
@dr764 I don't yet, but I think it shouldn't be a problem. When I looked up the Google+ on the phone I was take to a page to enter/confirm profile info. There's a check box to allow Google to use your info to personalize content and ads when you visit non-Google websites, you can choose whether you want to allow that or not. Don't know if they still get the data.
@AnGeLoLosAngeles When you're on 3G, the network is slower. When I first got it, I had trouble getting YouTube videos to play, but the situation has improved recently. I don't know whether that's due to the coverage or the app. Basic email and stuff shouldn't be a problem.
There really seems to be a lack of knowledge about the phone here. I've checked the phone out and it will do flash-I don't know how well but it does flash-it's on the AT&T network plus it does voice commands too but no mention of that here.
@4innerclarity You're right there's voice search and a voice dialer.Adobe doesn't support Flash on this phone (they support it on very few phones). I've tried installing some 3rd party flash tools, but most of them seem like spam tools that serve up a few ads until you delete the app. You can, however, find MP4 video players such as MX video. This helps to view videos available in that format.
@Kyleelwwe If you are in an area where you have access to a WiFi connection you should use that. Otherwise, you have access to the internet over the Sprint 3G network. Only if you're in an area with no cellular coverage and also have no WiFi coverage are you without access to the internet.
@MrMynameisalex It asks for a credit card, but it uses Google Checkout. I'm not sure, but I think you can put money into a Google checkout account using gift cards and then pay for your apps like that.
@kizzykissesjkm On their non-Android CDMA phones, the coverage is provided by Verizon. On the Android phones by Sprint. On their GSM phones by AT&T or T-Mobile depending on the phone and sim card.
@UPRalex Yes. From the FB app you can either take upload a photo or video, and then you have the choice of getting it from your folder or capturing a photo or video with the camera. Plus if you go to the Photo Gallery, you can share the photos to FB, Gmail, Email (whatever email accounts you've set up), Messaging, Picasa, Twitter (if you download the app), etc.
@DamnShitHoe Haven't cracked mine yet, but I'm not going to try. Can't find otter box on Amazon, but they have some rugged cases for the Galaxy Prevail which looks like basically the same phone.
@laurenR168 Yes. Actually there are a bunch of radio apps. The iheart app is by Clear Channel. I don't know if it is limited to the stations they own or not. Other popular apps include TuneIn and Live365.
I have Straight talk and am interested in getting the Android can anyone tell me how the SIRI works and what app's will the voice activation work on and what does it exclude?
@MegaMicheleD Siri is an iPhone app. However there's Iris for Android which is supposed to do what Siri does. Reviews for the app seem to be good, but I haven't tried either.
This phone worked great but I sent it back because the reception was not good in my area. Straighttalk customer service told me that not all of the Verizon towers in my area had the newer 3G capability so I wasn't getting as good reception. You need to download the pdf manual. Could get yahoo, google, and POP email. Wish the case had some texture on it (skins hard to find so far). Felt very slick.

It would be better if you could turn off WiFi to see how the 3G works. And also to turn off the music on the background, comes out a bit annoying
