  • anybody know how to get reason 5 to work on an XP sp3 ?

  • does edrum need the etrigger to work?

i choose the single track option but doesn't work

  • does this work with rock band 3 pro drums ????

  • Do you know if you need edrum and midi yoke to set up an ekit in protools?

  • shot bro, i did what you said to do , and it work, thanks

  • Is this also possible with Guitar hero or Band hero drums- PS3 version ?

  • Thank you so much dude. I finally got it working and I am ready to make some beats. I appreciate your help.

  • This does work for Vista, but you'll need to Install Maple, Reboot, then Install Edrum 1.0 , in Reason assign a generic midi controller and put in on the same channel as you set the output for in Edrum. Go back to Edrum and Go to Game Devices and select the name of the device from the drop down list. Now learn each of the pads and set them to unique channels 1.2.3.4.5.6. Lastly go back to the track channels. Do NOT USE the one marked pedal.. instead ignore it and start with the second track.

  • what game System did you get the drums from bro???

  • Hey dude. Just wondering if this works on Windows 7??

  • I installed the program on Vista, but I can't create a new single track. Can anyone help me with this?

  • anyone know if windows 7 will work or any other programs that will work with W7?

  • great video but i have a question. when you hit the drums. does it only come out as one velocity? or can u hit it hard or soft and it will change ? i think i dont. but meh i dunno

  • Ok, so I finally figured out how to get my electronic Roland TD-3 drum kit working using midi through Reason, but I still cant route different pads to make different sounds also id like it so when I record it all sits neatly to the bar (snap to grid) PLEASE NOTE: The master channel for my drum kit is channel 10 through the midi in device. Do I need to create something to re-route the different pads???? Help!

  • i just noticed to the status window in edrum the press/release action of joysticks (I'm using a playstation one controler as drumpad)...

But, since it only learns the the press of a button, you can't assign open/close hi hats.

  • thank you

  • great tutorial for reason/drums..BUT!...is there noticeable lag/latency.....?????...

sound coming after youve hit it.....?

the only way ive figured to get direct midi with no lag is......

im going to buy an old midi keyboard and make my own drums using transducers.touch sensitive...and just wire em to the actual keys..then i can transmit midi..no lag etc...it seems everyone has a major problem with latency doing this....ive seen lots of vids on this,,,same problem everywhere it seems...

    rob

  • @100roberthenry Read the video notes/description as your question is answered there. Use ASIO drivers and there is no lag what so ever. I wasn't using them when I made this video and the editing was just off making it appear worse.

I've been meaning to do a jam video to demonstrate how well it works with ASIO, just haven't had time.

  • @80ProofCanada

cool. cheers for the reply man...hasnt the rock band only got a midi in?..not out..

how does that work?..sorry for being a dumbass..lol..

  • does this work for a ps3 rockband drum kit D:

  • @xBoltFusionx as long as it's usb and you find drivers for your pc to recognize as a gamepad/joystick

  • do you know why on edrum i click new track and nothing comes up?

  • whenever i press learn it automatically puts in j-9, it won't let me hit one of the drums

  • @boreddude73 try pressing learn twice. edrum does the same for me and once i press learn a second time, it learns the right joystic press

  • yo, this is cool. but what about an actual electronic drumkit? probly same right?

  • props 4 this homie

    keep it up

  • can edirol orchester by reason 4.0 install???

    please answer

  • thats bad ass lol

  • hey, if i'm using midi cable with a keyboard, what can i do to reduce the latency?

  • does it work with mac?

  • Nice, whats the bass you use?

  • but you can't record .. which sux.. unless anyone knows how

  • Of course you can record. You can record the same way you record from any other midi input device from Reason. The beat playing in the background was recorded using the rockband kit as input.

  • Ok then please help me. I have a midi controller which I can control redrum and other instruments with BUT nothing appears in the sequencer. It's not a keyboard, it's pads.

  • is the guitar in the beat a sample or is it a synth from reason.. ? if so whats it called..

  • I recorded the guitars myself using cubase and reason in rewire mode.

  • damm.. it sounds good .

  • @80ProofCanada Have you figured out how to enable the velocity sensitivity?

  • @faderklas

    ssshhhh.. dont encourage him.. lol

  • do u know if it works on windows 7 because im having no luck? and what do u have to choose for midi input?

  • Cool stuff man could you conect say an electric drum kit to reason in the same way? is the rockband drums conected to the pc through usb?

  • Would this work with FLStudio 7 with EZdrummer?

  • cool man..are they velocity sensitive...?????

    looks good. nice vid.

  • hey is it possible to use the guitar hero world tour drums with Reason? if so another tutorial would be awesome...

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not sure I understand the purpose...

  • reason 4 as a midi controler? or just as a instrument?

  • does the drums have to be wireless?

  • hello whats the background music called? is it by reason? its awesome

  • Its one of my own beats, glad you like it :)

  • oh yeah plz plz can i download it too? i like to listen to it the guitars in the background is awesome too hope i can download it

  • this shit doesnt work for windows vista motherfucker

  • Comment removed

  • Ive got up to the bit where I press learn and when I hit the pads it doesnt work? any help here?

  • can i use this wit ion if i can tell me how in a msg RESPOND

  • thanks man this shit works !!!!!

  • can you upload your save file? that would make it easier for people to test.

  • ay can somebody help me??......how do i use my downloaded drum kits in reason???

  • for some reason (get it?) it won't make a track in edrum

  • I have the same problem and can't find shit worth help anywhere. Someone please help.

  • i am having this problem too....anyone know what to do?

  • nice one...

  • im trying to follow your instructions but instead of reason im using fruity loops, with a digidesign mbox.. can you help me out?

  • I cannot get the ps3 drum kit to work.

  • can u do this with wii rock band?

  • hey guys , any of you know how i can connect my ion drumrocker to the reason software? y tried following these steps , but when i hit the learn button and hit my red pad nothing happens. much appreciated

  • drop (dot) io (slash) 360mididrummer

GHWT 360/PS2/PS3 to VSTi (MIDI) with velocity support. You need a wireless receiver. Not sure about Rock Band-drums yet but I can add support for them.

  • why is it that when i click new single track absolutely nothing happens? please answer

  • this is a waste of time, the lacency is way to long to be effective..

  • I've addressed this in previous comments!!

USE ASIO DRIVERS AND THERE IS NO LATENCY

If you use a standard gaming/directx sound drivers the latency will be shit

  • i agree, ASIO dude, use ASIO, even with a midi keyboard if ur not using ASIO there will also be latency

  • this works.....but the delay is horrible

    I wish it was better

  • no he doesnt mean REDRUM he means EDRUM different software fool...

  • Sabian Joe is right. Some people just shouldn't talk. =P

  • e drum? u mean REDRUM?

  • Hey, im trying to do this and for some reason Edrum isnt picking up my rockband drum kit. After I click learn then hit the red pad it doesnt work? Any help?

  • i use an mpd, keyboard or an electronic drum set for my drum beats in reason.....i guess now i could do it with my rock band drum set:) good tutorial by the way

  • i downloaded new drumm kits,,how can i put in reason ?????

  • you just dump them in your reason sound bank folder....or direct reason to where you stored your drum sounds.....u got the drum kit 2.0 for reason??? thats an awesome piece of software

  • I would also be very glad if someone knew how to do the same with a World Tour drumset.

  • should be the exact same process.... just a couple more controls you have to set

  • I thank you so alot! You are the best. You got me hustle now. Hah. I was having a hard to get the eletronic drum. My father refused to buy 300 like Yoki, Ion, etc.

  • Is there any program that does the same thing for Guitar Hero World Tour drumset?

  • Thanks, this worked perfectly. If you're using Vista you'll want to do this when installing Midi Yoke:

    1. Download the MIDI Yoke NT 1.74 Installer.

    2. Run "MSCONFIG" from the Run-menu (Win+R).

    3. Go to the "Tools"-tab and select "Disable UAC".

    4. Press "Launch". Close the CMD-window.

    5. Restart your computer and install MIDI Yoke

Also when downloading EDrum use version 1.0 or else it won't work.

    Hope this helps.

  • thanks

  • Thanx for this video.... Ive managed to get my RockBand drums working with Edrum in Ableton Live 7. Problems with recording midi to clips(probably something to do with a setting that needs tweeking), but great for setting up an audio channel to record the playback of live drums through an Impulse kit!!

  • you didnt mention how to install midi yoke for vista users. i figuered it out though

  • lol...nice idea

  • your a genius! i wouldve never thought of this and i have reason version 4 and i have the rock band drums. thanks for this, im going to try 2morrow after school.

  • but how do you deal with the latency?

  • Use ASIO drivers if your soundcard supports it and you'll have no latency at all. Standard sound cards will create minor latency, enough to be annoying.

  • it seems edrum monitor is only built for the PC. Do you know of a Mac equivalent?

  • Has anyone had success with Guitar hero world tour drums in reason?

  • Also works with the Wii controller!!! Thanx a lot!!

  • is rock band/rock band 2 for pc???

  • im using vista,(i've downloaded everything and the virtual midi tracks are visiable in reason)but for some reason, in edrum monitor, when i click

    tracks->new single track

    nothing happens!!!

also...are youusing the power cord that came with your rockband??

  • wat edrum monitor do u have wat version

  • Dont be an idiot "elscotto"

Hey, do you know if this Rock band has pressure sensitivty

  • Nah dude, its just a $80 game controller so its not pressure sensitive

you get what you pay for lol

  • hate u reegee

man aint none of this shit even work man. this is all total bull.

    harhar

  • Lol what? Step up your instruction following game

  • "step up your instruction following game" that was funny.

  • m using vista,(i've downloaded everything and the virtual midi tracks are visiable in reason)but for some reason, in edrum monitor, when i click

    tracks->new single track

    nothing happens!!!

also...are youusing the power cord that came with your rockband??

  • yeah the same thing happens to me, i click new track and nothing happens

  • This definitely works, I got it set up perfectly. The only thing you have to do differently is if you have Vista you must use the older version of eDrum monitor for it to work.

  • i get the older one, i installed it, now all it does is load on the system tray but wont come up ,goes away if i scroll over it

  • m using vista,(i've downloaded everything and the virtual midi tracks are visiable in reason)but for some reason, in edrum monitor, when i click

    tracks->new single track

    nothing happens!!!

also...are youusing the power cord that came with your rockband??

  • you are a retard maybe? thats why

  • i'm selling Reason 4 really cheap, email nemoness(at)googlemail(dot)com

  • good looks on this vid. props from dr Kravens

ps: nice porn music in the background ;)

  • It worked for my ps2 kit perfectly. You didn't specify that in your description, so I just thought I let you know. Thanks a lot.

  • I was about to say something bout ASIO drivers too. but nm

  • Quick update

I noticed using ASIO drivers in reason VS standard DX drivers makes a HUGE difference in the latency.....with ASIO there is literally no delay at all letting you just back out beats like nothing.....the delay with standard audio drivers can be a little annoying

  • o thats tight

i got reason too thank you

  • that midi yoke just wont get installed!!!

  • thank you so much for making this video!

  • whats the music played in background?

  • any idea where i can get reason

  • it looks like theres bad mms latency

  • the entire video is off time with the audio.....there is very slight latency but not nearly as bad as it looks in the video

  • nice

  • reason costs money, is there a free version

  • pm me so can give it to u free full working

  • what

  • Does it recognize pressure ?

When you hit lightly the midi velocity will be low ? I saw that you were hitting at same velocity but will it detect higher / lower hitting velocity ?

  • I dont think so, real expensive electronic drums kits feature that, but this is just a cheap game controller, basically the hits are just registered as on or off

  • hey, what is the song you used for the bg music on this video? i need some nice ambient stuff that is just there while i hang in my pad.

  • Its actually one of my own beats i've made in reason and cubase :)

  • Good job.

  • dood you are AWSOME, thanks for this i will be using this ALOT

  • A couple people have asked me about the delay on the sound when i hit the drums........the entire video is off time with the sound because my camera sucks.....

the response time of the sound when you hit the pad is actually very accurate, There is MAYBE a 5ms response time if that
