Yep...terrible times..back in the days of Exodus. Can we please remember there were hundreds of thousands of Jews going through this Exodus together. There had to be rules...some of them harsh and in today's context, very horrible, unforgiveable....however, God's chosen people were led through a very dark time....and made it through to the land of milk and honey. @monkey1over God always gives us different opportunities, i suggest reading the bible, even a free online bible is just as useful as any other one. And definitely listen to other songs like this one, this is a great song, just listening to it makes me feel great, and i hope it's the same for you. And don't think you have to go to church to be close with God, the closest you can be with God is having him in your heart and accepting his love, and having a relationship with him. However, many more verses exist that explain various parts of different kinds of slavery. There is the slavery to sin, which we all have when we are born. There is also the slavery to Jesus Christ. But it is done through the power of God, and is more of adoption, than of stupidly serving. We, as Christians, are doing the will of God through love for His power.

I have heard of a bunch of brothers who sold their brother into slavery, but all of what happened turned out for good. Their was going to be a famine in the land, so God had Joseph placed in Egypt to be able to interpret the dreams the king had been having. He saved the people of the lands, and was reconciled with his brothers in the end.

If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 If you want more texts to prove my point. you will get them.

It's really strange. When I've started opening my eyes in my life and seeing God's fingerprints on my life, I feel like I actually KNOW Him, like that I can actually TALK to Him and something will happen and it's His answer for me. And i actually recognize Him.
