I liked JPA as a player. He was skilled, fluid and intelligent. However, we musn't put on rose-tinted glasses. His goals record for us was not impressive (175 PL games, 44 goals) and he only managed to get to double figures in the league twice in the six full seasons he was with us. It's fair to say that he was a little unlucky, in the sense that he played in some Villa teams that created little for him but his finishing was also a weakness. Good, yes. Legend, no.
