EMG Zakk Wylde Shred Contest Graveyard Disciples Solo

Is your Les Paul Standard neck profile the same as the Zakk Wylde neck profile? In other words, is it thick like a regular Les Paul profile or is it thinner? People always say you can't shred on a baseball or thick neck but you and Randy Rhodes don't seem to have a problem.

@NomadRonin I've never messed with the neck profile, so it is the regular thicker neck. I've played this guitar since I've started learning, so I'm honestly just used to it. I've played some Ibanezes with thin necks and actually can't play as fast on them because they just don't feel right to me. A thick neck definitely does not mean you can't shred. I appreciate the compliment brother :D

Man...no disrespect to Zakk...but this contest was bullshit...the top 5 were pretty much just the videos with the most views...your video was better than the 5th and 4th place video...you should've been in the top 5 man. I didn't think you were trying to undercut my video either; I was just protecting my own interests within the contest haha He is good, don't get me wrong, but his playing style doesn't suit Zakk's stuff quite as well in my opinion. The piece ("Farewell Ballad") he played is one of Zakk's prettiest arrangements I think.

@chuckmehh i just found it different and interesting. Everyone is going for the "Zakk" style, but in my opinion hes the master of his own styl,e and i was hoping for some originality and adding your own personal style to zakks arrangements, and just outstanding guitar shredding skills.

But you are right. You got the zakk essence down! Love what you did.

I agree 1,000,000% that he brought a good element of his own style and is a great player, but solely for this contest, which is essentially a "copy Zakk Wylde" contest, I felt his sound was just lacking a certain "Zakk" element. All props to him though, he is a great player for sure and I'm sure he'll go somewhere if he so chooses. Again, thanks for checkin my vid out and favorite/share it!
