  • We need to start fumigating immigrants again as well as travelers. We were once a fairly un diseased un buggy society and now it's all coming back.

  • I was born and raised in England. While I still do have reverence for my native country I now hold allegiance to my new home, America, where I took up citizenship 35 years ago. I do not call myself British, I am American now. I pledged to be at naturalization and that is what my my passport says. My husband's ancestors came from Russia. He calls himself an American because this is where he was born and raised so don't give me that hyphenated nationality shit unless you really are dual citizen.

  • Everyone in the United States had ancestors that came here. Even the Native Americans had ancestors who came here from most likely Asia. It didn't belong to them and it doesn't belong to any of us. Land is part of the Earth. In my opinion, I believe that if you are going to come here and make a living and not cause crime, then you shouldn't be pushed away.

  • really good documentary :)

  • If you were born in this country you are an american, but the older your bloodline is in America the more truly american you are, also the more you have contributed to this country the more american you are, like war vets.

  • @repoman174

stupidest shit i've ever heard....idiot yeah the older the bloodline the more american you are? lol yeah all what 300-400 years wow

  • @masterchiefer123 This is why native americans are more american dumbass, because they have been here longer.

  • @repoman174 but if u see a native american. u wouldnt call them americans. u have to call 'em native americans which is fine too. but if u see white blonde blue u would call 'em just americans. just coz theyre white. how come u dont call em europeans/americans. we all know they are euro/americans theyre italian german irish polish blood etc,. anyway whatever in my eyes we are all americans.

  • @mrchrmedone I will tell it like it is,if you were born in this country form european immigrated parents, you are an american. However, you are not a senior in this country, you are not as american as someone who's ancestors arrived in 1720,because they built this country when it was nothing, compared to everyone else who arrive only because it was nice. And yes native americans are more american than all of us.

  • @mrchrmedone Part of the problem is that a german american will still call himself german,or on irish american will still call himself an irishman. However an american who's ancestors came from England in 1619 will not call himself english, but only american. And we may call indians native americans and exclude them, but remember that they arrived 40,000 years before us,we were still in the stone age when they were already here.

  • My Great Great grandfather and Granmother came through Ellis Island from Germany. Im doing a reprt on them for Immigration Day at our school. We have to dress like them. Can't wait to live in the past!

  • Nice documentary.

  • @GreenBaron757 - thanks!

  • My great grandfather was born in poland but had russian parents and lived in Minsk,Russia which now is Belarus he came in 1910-1920 when he was a teen or young adult and was jewish he also gambled alote and became a bookie for meyer lansky so Russian crime lol

  • Why would a people leave a place for freedom and come to a new place, just to treat others here the way that they were treated where you came from. That doesn't make sense. The cycle was never broken. Now our children are being taken away. Africans built the country that you longed for.

  • is this the video they actually show at ellis island???

  • the man at 9:16 sounds like marlon brando from the godfather part 1

  • the ppl who founded this country and those who came thru ellis island were very humble , not to mention the conditions on the ships, living with strangers and that sort of thing, and now look at us, making negative comments to one another, not so humble any more. watching this video should renew our hope , its not so important as to where we came from, but its what we do when we get to where we are going, we need to remember where we come from and why we left, and not to repeat the past.

  • europeans started the migration thing...africans, asians, latin americans just followed what europeans did.....they should have stayed in europe!

  • @Elevation023 Oh, but we're very happy here? Why should we have stayed in Europe? We came here legally. Had to take Immigration inspection in the old country before we could leave. got here and did Grand! Love it and never will leave it.

  • this is a universal story unique to us... people came from all over the world, not just the slovak countries and italy... they came from africa, china, spain, the middle east, romania, and everything in between...

  • I seen Ellis Island video with my eyes what my father eyes had seen when he came through Ellis Island... An Awesome video to remember how they came.

I am proud to be a son of an immigrant from Lebanon.

God Bless Ellis Island, if it was not for it, I would have never been Born...

  • This country should let in only white people. it is because they let in trash, that this country has turned into a hell hole. Sad but true.

  • @calihartley2010 Well that is what happens when a nation would rather crucify itself on its liberal democratic values rather than fight Marxism tooth and nail. What is so sad, is that the intellectuals, the judges, and the politicians who engineered our current demographic problems should have arguably known better, and forseen the problems that their 'reforms' would create. Please my friend, talk to as many young people as you can about this problem. There is will be a recogning!

  • @Jsledge85 Yes too bad that liberals spoiled the western world. I wish young people would listen, but most of them are so filled with liberal nonsense that they think what they know is right. Sad that America has sunk so low from where it used to be. Very soon, this nation will be a Africa-2

  • @calihartley2010 I'm young (mid twenties) and I've seen the light. Not only did I adopt racial realism independently of outside influence (although growing up the deep south probably helped), I managed to adopt these beliefs in spite of : (1) modern pop culture; (2) psuedo-intellectual high school teachers; (3) education at an extremely liberal (and prestigious) top-tier private university; and (4) another helping of liberalism at a respectable law school. Don't be pessimistic, we exists.

  • @Jsledge85 I just hope that you are not a KKK member or of a hate group. That would be bad. I would never support hate groups. They are just as bad as the lliberals. Liberals may do it in a sneaky sort of way, but hate groups do it in a very violent way. So both are evil. I hope you are like me who likes calling a spade a spade, but at the same time tries to help fix things.

  • @calihartley2010 Seriously, the worst action is inaction. Most young people don't consciously hate their race, they: (1) have been lied to by adults and need deprograming; (2) need to reconcile racial realism with their indvidual sense of morality; (3) Need to be educated; (4) Need to understand self-preservation is natural response to collective danger; and (5) Be made aware that "multiculturalism" is something only the U.S. and E.U. practice it is laughable else where (China, S.K. and Japan).

  • @Jsledge85 I agree with everythibg you say. However not all adults tell them lies, it is the adults who are still stuck in the hippy 60's that are liars and spread hate, but act like they are being compassionate. Ofcourse multiculturalism is only meant for western countries. That is what liberals say. If you tell an african or asian about that, they will laugh at you. Africans are trying to kick all the whites out of africa. So they hate it. But want it in the west. They are all hypocrites.

  • @Jsledge85 Also, even third worlders that want to assimilate and be american are thwarted by their fellow country men here, or by the liberal whites/blacks who want them to remain native. Therefore, these liberals should be kicked out of their positions of power and kept far away. If you look at the news, they say that whites are in the minority as far as birth rates are concerned. Sad, but if immigration laws are not changed and whites do not breed more, then the west is another Africa-2

  • @Jsledge85 Finally, try bring up the subject with 1-4 people under 25 yr you know well through conversation. Worse case, someone leaves slightly offended and confused. Best case, you just proverbially returned sight to someone who was walking blindness, and potentially changed their lives. Even, if the results are mediocre, it may not be the right time for them, but that doesn't mean their lost - some people simply need time to mature, experience life, and educate themselves.

  • @Jsledge85 Yes, you are right. That was the same with me. I am in my 20s but it took time for me to realise that multiculturalism is not the way. Now I try to make others see the light. Many get offended since they are so brain washed, but I hope the magic works if they care to keep their eyes open. One good thing is that all those hippies in power, in politics or in education are all retiring or dying out. So now it is time for conservatives to take over.

  • @calihartley2010 Please explain yourself. Are you saying that anyone not white is trash?

  • @o0Tao0o Did I say that? If you read properly trash includes everyone. ofcourse most trash is non white. Do some research on the state of Europe and the western world after 1965 or world war -2 and you will see what I mean. After you do that, lets argue.

  • @calihartley2010 Bwhahaha.... sorry i can't stop laughing at you... bwhahahaha.....

    .... still going.... bwhahahahha.

Ok, something you don't seem to realise, so I'll take it easy on you. America isn't actually very old. I know you're still a kid and it seems like it has a lot of history... but it doesn't. England and the rest of Europe have had non whites with them for over a century before your country existed. So you're claims of decline dure to "trash" after 1965 is so dumb! LOL

  • @o0Tao0o Well like I said to you in the miss marple vid, do some research and since I know ur black, shut the hell up and go back to Africa. if you want a serious argument then argue. Do not try childish tatics with me

  • @calihartley2010 Now.. of all the assumptions, that is the best one yet!

BTW.. don't think people don't notice how when you get owned you start all this ... Youre an Athiest, youre a communist, youre a hippy and now... oh youre black!

Bwhahaha... More whining? would you like some more history lessons? LOL

  • @calihartley2010 Can you explain what you mean by 'tactics'? WTF are you talking about? I made my statement... you looked a tad silly (again) and now youre making even more moronic suggestions. If you had half the brains you were born with you'd realise that, that video on my channel of the black guy... well firstly he's American, secondly he looks like he's in his sixties and lastly, if you stopped to check it isn't uploaded by me, lol. And from that you deduce that i'm Black?! bwhaha #fail

  • @o0Tao0o Well you certainly act black. You must be a white guy who is a black wannabe. Now shut up and go live in the ghettos

  • @calihartley2010 Really? So just so we're clear according to the wisdom of calihartley2010 I am all of the following... An Athiest-communist-liberal-hippy-black-white-wanna be black? There were a few others you mentioned, i think you thought i was a bhuddist too at one point, lol.

The point here is that you continually show yourself up, over and over again and I'm not going anywhere! :D

So c'mon then einstein, you were about to tell me about these "tactics" I'm intrigued. :/

  • @o0Tao0o Well you have proven that you are no Einstein. Good riddance to you. I did not think you were a Buddhist, I still think you are devoid of any intelligence.

  • A perfect video for my english outline! :)

  • @MrPmd1 Genetic studies of Native American populations have also shown the Solutrean theory to be unlikely, showing instead that the 5 main mtDNA haplogroups found in the Americas were all part of one gene pool migration from Asia"

  • Comment removed

  • @MrPmd1 I got this from Wikipedia, from the entry of Indigenous People of the Americas, under the heading Migration into the continents. On the solutrean theory- "The theory is largely discounted by most professionals for a variety of reasons, including the fact that the differences between the two tool making traditions far outweigh the similarities, the several thousand miles of the Atlantic Ocean and the 5000 year span that separate the two different cultures.[37][38] -continued

  • Comment removed

  • @MrPmd1 I can prove it to you, but what's the point you would just dismiss anyway

  • @MrPmd1 I could say the same about Europeans, they also didn't grow out of the ground. The first europeans where actually middle eastern and North African Migrants. White Europeans where not here before Native Americans, that is bullshit. You keep believing whatever you want to believe.

  • @MrPmd1 Quit generalizing mexicans, most mexican immigrants work very hard when they come to the USA. Just like your immigrant ancestors had no respect for this land and the native americans.

  • My (paternal) grandfather (1899-1977) and his family were actually pretty fortunate, having made the trans-Atlantic crossing in only ten days; as winter would have been the time of the very worst storms! The crossing, in general, could take anywhere from a week to a month. Soon after their later arrival in St. Louis, he got a job selling newspapers (in all kinds of weather and circumstances); newspapers are pretty much what he did all his life -- from age 8, right up till retirement.

  • What happened was that the czarist regime had outlawed anything that the czar didn't like -- including Judaism! And so you basically remained there at your own risk. Much of the journey had to be made on foot -- to the railheads, and then to the port city (Rotterdam, in this case -- which looked nothing like it does now!). It was on February 8, 1908 that they departed Rotterdam (on the S.S. Ryndam); arriving at Ellis Island on the 18th. The next day, they were cleared to go to Saint Louis!

  • My grandfather came here via Ellis Island as an 8-year-old boy at that time (February, 1908). They originally came from Reczicse, a small farming village in czarist Russia. Having made the difficult journey during the winter of 1907-'08, they made their way to Rotterdam, Holland. There they waited (for hours, or perhaps even days!) for their ship to come -- the S.S. Ryndam, for Holland-Amerika Lines. It was a 10-day journey to Ellis Island, to ultimately meet with their family in St. Louis.

  • Very interesting, thank you!

  • We can't allow local cities to make sanctuary cities policies, because they will bring our inner city turf wars to epic proportions by bringing in the drug cartel and Columbian gangs. (Mexican Gangs don't recognize US borders established Treaty of Guadalupe) C SPAN "Black Republican Forum" Session 2 (begin at 11:30) Allen West stated part of Amnesty of 1986 was to secure our borders and enforcement our laws, but haven't happened. (We're still talking about new amnesty like DREAM Act.)

  • @overworksmom We are who? Thinking you don't speak for me.

  • What I find confusing is that there are some that did not like video - on the other hand I understand some spend their whole life not caring for or about anything. Thanks - the sharing of videos as this redeems the value of the internet for me

  • My great grand father had to go through 2 big tests in his life, first was a selection on Ellis Island which took few seconds only, he passed and stayed in US for next 22 years. He came back to Europe in 1934 and in 1943 had a chance to stand face to face with dr Mengele in nazi concentration camp Auschwitz -Birkenau. Few seconds only... Passed it again.

    Greetings from Poland.

  • The date inscribed at 1:57 is March 24, 1914 (as nearly as I can make it out).

  • No one is flooding Japan with Non-Japanese and encouraging everyone to "mix".

No one is flooding Africa with Non-Africans and encouraging everyone to "mix".

Only citizens of White/European Countries like the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and all the countries in Europe are having uncontrolled immigration

    forced on them.

This "assimilation" or blending is nothing more than an attempt to wipe out the White race. It's genocide.

    They aren't anti-racists, they're anti-White.

  • @yeehaw1451 No one is telling you to procreate with anyone you don't want to.

  • @yeehaw1451 You conveniantly forget that the true americans are not white. America is just going back to it's original roots, if you don't like it, why don't you go back to your true white homeland, which is europe and not the american continent.

  • ..America is now back to that island in history..those people in the video are the ones paying today the price of the blo@d shed by the first wave of immigrants, the worriers and nobles and land owners of the Crown..time to hit the ground:)

  • By any chance, do they have horses on that island?

  • The same italian voice speaks again many times but due to the narrating voices i cant understand what says. It would be very interesting listening the original voice track without narration.

  • Wow, amazing! Since im italian, at 13:26 i can clearly hear a voice saying: "I need somebody speaking italian".

  • Imagine if one of our family members are in this film?!

  • I teach U.S. History and I will show this to my class. We are covering Immigration.

    Thank You for posting.

  • Too bad America went into the shitter, was a nice place once, now just a madhouse.

  • @SvalbardJanMayen1976 Those immigrants helped to make this country one of the most prosperous countries to ever exist. But at the time, they were seen by Americans no differently than Mexican immigrants are seen today.

  • @SepherStar How convenient of you to leave out the words "legal" and "illegal". These European immigrants were LEGAL, the majority of Mexican "immigrants" whom you infer to as being frowned upon today are ILLEGAL!! That's the distinction!!

  • @TheIronKeel -The video was not meant to cover all aspects of a very comjplex issue, if indeed it would attempted to do so it would have been several hours if not days long. Are you looking for a reason to be offended or hurt?

  • @TheIronKeel European immigrants where legal just because other european immigrants said so. The native Americans never invited you guys over to the Americas, you guys just showed up illegally.

  • I swear I am going to visit that place once in my life

and damn, they just had to wait and not be a lunatic to become a part of that nation and if i became a US citizen, that would be the happiest moment in my entire life

    God bless America!

  • This is an awesome view of what our ancestors went through to come to America. Mine came from Bavaria, England and Scotland. They left a great legacy and one for us to be proud of. Thank you for this documentary. Also, thanks to bosnmate820 for sharing your story.

  • @quiltingrammie - you are very welcome and thank you for your comments!

  • @quiltingrammie and now you fucking european/american bitches.. are crying like babyes because mexicans come to america.. did yall forgot that everybody from every single corner of the globe has come to the u.s in search of a better life..lol we are a nation of laws also nation of immigrants.. (legal immigrants of course.) we all did came from somwhere else to the u.s at some point.. why are you guys making such a big deal about the mexicans coming to the u.s? i just dont get it.

  • @mrchrmedone Because most of them are coming here ILLEGALLY.

    That is WHY.

My father is from South of the Border but WAITED IN LINE.

    So quit your whining.

  • @mrchrmedone In the 60s-80s Chicago was a beautiful multi-cultured city. Then something happened? Spanish were not happy w/a certain section of the city? Imagration lost track & Pedro Maria w/their 5 kids living w/2 other familys in a 4 room apartment could save & buy up all the real estate in the city? Native Chicagoans were pushed out.! My family was one of the thousands out in the 90s. Mayor was upset? Changed now to Taco Bell central? Now you wonder why we bitch? this is why!

  • @mrchrmedone Many many many Mexicans are Europeans to. O_o

  • @mrchrmedone I can tell you why. 1: Many are tryin to get away with not following the laws all of us have had to follow, coming into the country illegally 2: defrauding the system to get benefits that are supposed to be for the aid of American citizens 3: separating yourselves by clinging to your Mexican heritage instead of becoming Americans. Using this country like a whore to help your own people out without any concern for those who you expect to not only accept but support you.

  • @mrchrmedone because of the crimes and chaos they bring. Im not saying all of them, but alot of them come here to deal drugs, to illegally get around the government and work under the table and avoid taxation, to take advantage of so many benefits illegally here in the US.

  • A great experiment in self government, a FREE PEOPLE, even with that there must be rule of law.

All are welcome, just go through the legal process.

Learn the language, the customs and it's ways, become simulated into a one people for one nation, together building a better life for future generations for all.

  • @newscruzer1 if you think you're free in the US you've really been hoodwinked.

  • @SvalbardJanMayen1976 and your point is what? If you are pretty sure you have a better idea what don't you see who will follow you to your world, and go.

  • Interesting :) Thank you !

  • @toddnevinsable - you are welcome!

  • my great grandfather and grandfather were on those boats from Siclily

  • @persianlady55

    There's a Sicilli in Persia?

  • My Grandpa "Bernie" (1899-1977), who immigrated here with his family as a baby: the trans-Atlantic crossing, being in mid-winter, would have been the time of the very worst storms! -- the short days and long nights making things even more depressing! -- took something like three weeks. It was in mid-February of 1900 that they had arrived, and were processed. Happily, for them: the entire process only took a couple of days, at the most. "Here's to a new beginning! New hope! New freedom!"

  • "Wubububuubububu" -- Curly's anthem for "The Three Stooges"! Moe and Shemp were his real-life older brothers. Their parents were immigrants from Lithuania, named Sol and Jenny Horwitz -- soon to be "Americanized" to "Howard". "Disorder in the Court" -- 1936: it was Jenny Horwitz (their mother, 70-ish) whom Curly fell into, his arms "accidentally" wrapped around her! Said she, in return: "Broadlane 9-9-7-2, after five o-clock!" -- big smile on both their faces! o:-D

  • republicans said everybody who came from this island or ancor babies must be check about papers they will be out of driver licenses anf benefits check the news

  • I'm proud to be an immigrant

  • If you go to Arizona DON'T TALK TO POLICE.

Even if you are here legally they will arrest you if you cannot prove without a doubt you are.

If you do not speak 100% English with no dialect and are not 100% white then you will be thrown in jail until your family can prove you are here legally.

Drivers licenses are not proof of citizenship or immigration status.

  • america welcomes all immigrants except mexicans!!! we've had enough of mexicans!!! mexicans r not like any other immigrants that came before

  • @mexicanslovedonkeys what do you have against them??

  • Everybody says the final solution to the RACE problem is for EVERY White country and ONLY White countries to bring in the third world and assimilate with them. Immigration, tolerance, and especially assimilation are being used against the White race. All this immigration and intermarriage is for EVERY White country and ONLY White countries. Anti-White is called anti-racist, but it leads to the disappearance of one race and only one race, the White race. It is genocide.

  • In the years of 1850-1930 About 1 million swedish people left their native homes for America due to bad harvest and religious oppression. Most of them settled in the midwest. Watch the movie "Nybyggarna-New Land" it´s very realistic and shows that it America was not always the promised land. Some of the settlers were brutally savaged by the indians.

  • @MagnusBrage "Some of the settlers were brutally salavaged by the Indians"? Rather odd statement - some may think the Indians were the settlers unless you are going with the land belongs to the ones with the biggest guns. But that is another issue for other videos and part of history.

  • thankd God for the Ellis Island Immigrants. As Mayor Giulliani said, "Those people were giants.

  • @rayandreina In short: if you lived in Lithuania, Russia, or any of the Eastern Bloc countries -- you remained there at your own risk. My great-grandpa was smart: "What we've gotta do is get the hell outta here!" And they made it -- alive! The rest is history.

  • My grandmother and grandfather immigrated to USA at the beginning of XX century.

They are met there and got married after in Chicago.

But my mother was born in Belarus, but its a long story

    BTW

I concern myself with genealogy researching and searching distant relatives of descendants of that immigration, here in Belarus, Poland and in Smolensk, Pskov regions of Russia.

  • My grandfather walked those corridors and steps to America from Romania in 1906. He was 16 and all alone. He spoke only Saxon, a form of German. He learned English, worked hard on the Railroad for 49 years and raised 8 kids. Five of those served this country in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was buried with an American Flag next to his heart. His most prized possesions were his German language Bible and his Naturalization Certificate. With little education, he was the smartest man I ever knew

  • great story.

  • @bosnmate820 Incredible story! God Bless your family!

  • @bosnmate820 Very interesting! Im Romanian myself, and i wasnt aware that some romanians in 1906 spoke Saxon, the german language you speaking of. My grandpa is still alive, and will be 90 this year, i should ask him more about it. He knows German, but thats becouse in WW2 Romanians fought both sides, first with the Germans then agains them.

And as Theclowcard said, im proud to be an immigrant. God Bless the USA

  • This is just 2 sad;(, all they want is a better home and sum soup;(.....to all you sons n daughters of immigrants from Europe, always count your blessings, everday;(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I went to Ellis Island today, and I loved it, It just felt so wonderful to walk through the halls and rooms that those immigrants walked a century ago

  • when my family came from sicily they didnt speak a lick of english and our last name was so hard to say the ppl at eliss island shortend it....

  • so sad

  • Visited Ellis Island last week. Very interesting but also very sad. Annie Moore from County Cork, Ireland was the first to pass through Ellis Island.

  • Many of us have European ancestors this is a very interesting documentary telling us about who we are and where our roots came from and the reason why our ancestors made the journey across the Atlantic by ship.

  • wow thats how ellis island look before the wow it still the same but they fix it up very nice u should go vist there its very nice

  • lovely film, but also sad, there is a song called " isle of hope isle of tears" sang by the mulkerrin brother,s.

  • Excellent presentation.

  • PedroLuisGarcia1, thank you!

  • My great Grandfather came through Ellis Island. His name is on the wall. It is a beautiful palce, I just wish they would restore the whole building,. Alot is falling apart.

  • Thanks for sharing this. I've spent 3 years researching Ellis Island and the Lower East Side in 1911 - the setting for a new Broadway musical I'm writing which will be a true immigrant story. This has been invaluable! If my Broadway show becomes a success, I'll let you know!

  • StudioByThePond, you are very welcome! Good luck with your Broadway show! Best wishes! regards...

  • Most of our ancestors passed thru Ellis Island i wonder what it was like back in those days as an immigrant seeking access thru the gates of the new land.

  • with me some of my acestors did other were slaves

  • my ancestors were stolen from their land and forced to come. Forced to work with no pay........my ancestors were immigrants too.

  • A great film! Thanks a lot!

  • I've always been interested in Ellis Island. I've always wanted to visit there and to see what they went through, some positive, some negative. All interesting.

  • How Can I get a copy of this video, although I am not American it seems to me that is an important part of the history.

    thanks

  • doaiviutube, you can download this video using the Firefox brower plus add-in. Thanks!

  • Almost all my ancestors came through Ellis Island. All of these immigrants were so brave and most had such sad stories from the old country..

  • This is a very good example of why its important to respect the emigration of this times. we all a nation, the most beautiful country in the world. i believe so i don´t understand why is so much hate out there against other races? the fact is this land do not belong to us we have to think about it ,native americans were here before any anglo or yanky, jew, black, german ,russian ,polish..ect so now the we are AMERICANS ! we have help the next generation tobe come a real land of hope.

  • Very wisely said, even with all the spelling bees. America IS the golden land, or at least WAS. If there's anything I love about America it's the cultural and racial respect and the neverending American dream. I say that and I'm not even American XD

  • I have relatives who emigrated to Amarica and went threw Ellis island

  • Wow, look at the ancestors of the Americans today. They suffer hard just to reach America just to taste the good life on the green pastures. Wow, inspiring for me, especially I'm going to America next year and a half.

  • How can you be coming to america in a year in a half when you are already in america?
