I find all the head motion shocking, can really tell this was pre-HANS device. I watched this race and the south African GP of this year on ESPN, remember the rain. The way I remember it, the race was "live" but the crew (Bob Varsha and David Hobbes) were in the US and called the race via sateilite.
Yes, im saying Everyone there apart from Shumacher(i know he isn't doing good now but in hes peak he was capable) and Senna would be capable to go for a title in current F1.
@InospeakAussie still 2nd fastest and remember this was his first full season in F1 and Prost of course is legendary for his speed so he did well I think
firstly DH was in only his 3rd or 4th race versus a soon to be quadruple WC!
secondly if you cast your mind back to Spa 92, Nigel Mansell was 2 seconds ahead of Riccardo Patrese in quali and 3 ahead of Ayrton!.....the gaps were wider in years gone by.
@flipsidedogchop Quote where i said he shouldn't be in F1 IN THOSE DAYS,I just said if he where in CURRENT F1 he would get blown in away, back in those days there was much less driver quality.
Prost was nearly perfect in that year, only he could not come back from the pit because of the very-very complex semi-gearbox system, he was so lucky when only Hill passed him at the starts....
Check this out...
Qualifying
1st Prost - 1-15-866
3rd Senna - 1-17-697
Thats almost 2 sec margin... That Williams was really superior in those times...!

Did you notice Senna coming down from the podium to hug the great Juan Manuel Fangio, a friend of his ??
Two GREAT drivers, not like today, unfortunately. What a GREAT era that was ...

Some of those drivers should not of been racing, Hill was a whole second slower then prost in qualiy in the same car?? today that is unheard of.

@InospeakAussie you cant be serious?

@flipsidedogchop
Riccardo patrese was rubbish, and Ayrton was in a different team, the williams in '92 was mighty dominate.

@InospeakAussie just accept that your original comment was fucked!
"Hill shouldnt have been in F1 cos he was 1 second slower than Prost in quali for his 3rd race"
your problem is your mouths 10 seconds ahead of your brain!
flipsidedogchop 1 year ago
@flipsidedogchop I didn't say that, i just said if this where modern F1 he would be blown away.
InospeakAussie 1 year ago
@InospeakAussie so i guess your saying prost would be thrashed somewhat too?
flipsidedogchop 1 year ago
@flipsidedogchop he would be okay i guess but would lack overall for a title i would think doesnt have the raw pace.

@InospeakAussie what do u mean you didnt say that??
i can see your comment above this where you said it word for word!

@InospeakAussie well yeah todays drivers are basically robots.
All that time in fitness programs and simulators improves the quality but diminishes the character.
azmanntoz 1 year ago
@azmanntoz Pretty much, look at Hamilton. Awesome driver but the most boring character ever.
InospeakAussie 1 year ago
@InospeakAussie
Maybe you right and maybe not.
Hamilton is still very young and i think he got a very good Character, but its my personal think...
Anyway, this is the F1 Championchip whos the best Driver, and not an Character Championchip about who ist the best Human...

'prost missed his tire stop for reasons FAR to complicated and continued on another lap'
Who is this commentator? He's BRILLIANT! I want him at the BBC to replace Leggard!
