Titanic was/is a royalty liner. It was the best of the best. This oasis of the sea is very ugly. Its bigger and dwarfs the Titanic but still the Titanic is beautiful ship.

hmm...why does everyone think bigger is better? It just means you are stuck with more people in a confined space. Shipping used to be like flying is now...they squeezed you in like cattle to save money. Now - it's "luxury" - but hey! - they kept the cattle car mentality for posterity sake.
And that's not even taking into count the old saying "the bigger they are, the harder they fall".
The only reason Titanic is remembered is because she sunk on her maiden voyage and so many lives were lost. Titanic had two sister ships, one of which sunk as well, and most people couldn't tell you their names. Titanic was a marvel for her time, but Oasis of the Seas is a marvel of our time.
@cnbnak Olympic and Britannic, both Olympic class ships. Britannic sank in WWI from either a mine or torpedo, the mine is more plausible. Olympic was referred to as "Old Reliable" and is credited for sinking a German U-boat and a lighthouse ship. She was scrapped in 37 after a full career on the water. Was also involved in a collision with the HMS Hawke which caused construction of the Titanic to be halted for repairs. Captain Smith was also in command when it happened. Wheres my cookie
you cant fairly compare a cruise ship with an ocean liner... the former is just to float around on while the later was designed to get you somewhere... the liner is faster and sleeker for a reason... it was designed to get you from point a to b in comfort and style... not just float around on...
Let's remember, too, that gross tonnage of these ships is a measurement of internal SPACE and not weight. A 46,000 ton ship of today would be lighter than the Titanic by a considerable margin, as her steel would be much thinner with the advent of modern technologies. Oasis probably weighs in at about 100,000 tons. The Titanic would be about 66,000 tons. Old Victorian construction was much heavier.
It has, after all, been 100 years since the Titanic was built. We have come a long way since then but these newer ships don't have the genuine class and elegance. They look like big Clorox bottles carrying stacks of pancakes.

Titanic for its time was the biggest man made ship. Oasis of the Seas is a fantastic piece of work, but it was built with technology and computing as well as physical manlabour. They're both incredible but 2 very different eras of engineering.
