@xbluejay7x Yes, he does — I think it started with this episode. Moffat is a great writer. ;) He even joked about that being his legacy, "timey wimey, wibbly wobbly..."
I just watched "Blink" for the 10th time. I am always amazed at how brilliantly written this script was. All of the actors roles were clearly defined in just a line or two sometimes. The actors were all top flight performers, which i find amazing as they were all one time roles. ...... And Carey Mulligan is awesome.
Bring back Sally! I think that someone should buy the old house and end up thinking that the circle of angels in the cellar are too creepy. So the new owner ends up selling them SEPERATELY. As soon as the angels are moved, they aren't looking at each other anymore and so they come back to life. They come after Sally and Larry for revenge and the Doctor has to come save them! I think that Sally and Amy, and Rory and Larry would be friends. And maybe the Doctor could take Sally to see Kathy.
I cannot believe that Carey Mulligan is an Oscar nominated actress, and I saw her first in this episode of DW, wow! She is great! I need to watch "An Education".
Oh I miss David Tennant as the Doctor so much, Matt is doing a decent job, but that's it: just decent, not amazing-or brilliant-or fantastic, sorry that's my opinion.
I have ignored Dr. Who for 40 years. I watched this episode only because i am smitten by Carey Mulligan after seeing this charming and talented young woman doing publicity for "An Education". This was a brilliantly written script and the Doctor was great too. I will be back.
This is the one series(Series 3) in which Steven Moffat's episode isn't my favorite. It's a close call between Blink and Human Nature/Family of Blood, but Human Nature was just so amazingly acted, amazingly written, and it was riddled in thought-provoking elements.
People saying they loved sally sparrow i agree with you but one thing i HAVE to say is she was the creation of Steven Moffat and lets face it she wasnt the only genius he created i mean River Song, Madam De Pompadour and now we have Karen Gillan so we should trust his judgement it has worked wonders and truth be told when i heard he would take over i was quite worried but then watching his episodes with the thought that he would take over made me think right Bring on the Moff
100% agree on both points - Carey is impossibly adorable and Moffat is, by a long chalk, Doctor Who's most talented writer, consistently producing some of the finest episodes in each series:
Series 1: The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances
Series 2: Girl in the Fireplace
Series 3: Blink
Series 4: Silence in the Library / Forest of the Dead
OMG i feel like cathrine tate at the moment... i dont believe the angel were real people... i thought they were actual status... wow - rather large mimic of cath and the sontarons XP
I loved this episode, carey mulligan is excellent, and shes slowly built her way up, staring in Pride and Prejudice, then doing a few films, being in Doctor Who, shes amazing, she really shows what raw talent can do. Shes really pretty as well. Loved this episode
This is by far my FAV new DR WHO episode, I was actually creeped out and at the edge of my seat. I can only compare it to HUSH from BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER which won an Emmy. I hope that this can be entered for some awards, it is awesome, and Carey Mulligan is a vastly talented actress, and beautiful to boot. I look forward to her having a career comparable to Kate Winslet, only with better movie choices. I also like the young man who played young mister Nightingale.
Nothing at all against Catherine, I'm sure she will do a sterling job as Donna in S.4... my comment is Carey Mulligan absolutely must be at the very top of the list to be next companion as Sally Sparrow. Its so obvious, she has the appeal for the children and the Dads ! The Doctor could just bump into her as her boyfriend disappears and they spend the next 1 or 2 series searching time and space for him. Only a suggestion Russell T !
Damn - the fact they use some pop song over the footage probably means it won't be included on the DVD release. :( I really wish they'd stop doing that. I'd rather hear no music so we're guaranteed to have this on the DVD.
i completely agree. i was also a fan of coupling (first three series anyway) - but moffat has written the episodes i've liked the best. also...sally sparrow should totally have been the next companion.
I'm with you, mate. I just saw "Blink" on Sci-Fi channel here in the States and all I have to say is...it may the FINEST Dr. Who story since "Caves of Androzzani". Steven Moffat and Hette McDonald hit a home run. And I adore the ENIRE cast. I totally dug, the Jamaican Detective Inspector (guess cause I'm part Jamaican myself), and I adored Sally Sparrow. I loved the guy who played Kathy's bro, and the girl who played Kathy is a total cutie. I think they should all do appearances in future Who's.
Carey Mulligan was already good in this and has had a really successful movie career since. A very talented actress.

Does anyone know the song at the beginning of this episode of Doctor Who Confidential? It's when David Tennant is standing outside the BBC building.

Just to echo everyone else- Carey is LOVELY... she would have been a perfect companion for the Doctor!
I'm also very chuffed that (from what I understand) Steven Moffat will be head writer now that RTD has gone... I think his stories are SO brilliant!
