@Reecome1603 Yes mate, consular is a ranged dps and also a healer. Besides, you can choose shadow(its advanced class) and be a melee dps. Shadow is the mirror of the Rogue. :)

oh yeah and another thing, i wanted to be able to see tython and coruscant, if you go on the empire side you get dromund kaas instead of coruscant, and imo coruscant is 10x better than dromund is and id rather see tython over korriban because ive seen korriban in the kotor games, although id rather see hutta over ord mantell but cant have it all perfect can always make an alt on the empire later on which i will, prob a BH IA or SI doubt a warrior tho, not my style

but i pre ordered so i get a color stone to change the color of the saber, not sure what color it changes to though plus you can find saber crystals on illum i think ah man, i think you can tell ive been thinkin bout this game alot! excited for it too, been waiting nearly 4 years for it now i think and in just over 2 months i finally get to play it! cant wait and the first companion reveal for this class is qyzen fess a trandoshan hunter, one of the coolest companions imo, and the ship is kl 2

plus the robes they get, yeah i think ill go jedi consular > shadow and then at lvl 10 focus on infiltration, guess they called it a shadow because assassin is not right for the jedi order, its too brutal, but generally thats what it will be, a mirror of the sith inquisitor assassin, only difference, ones on the empire, and uses lightning instead of telekenetics and has a different color saber, must say the assassins is better than the jedis, the purple looks awesome compared to the jedi green 1

the jedi's secret weapon, an assassin for a good cause, i was gonna be a smuggler at first because of the freedom they have storywise, no rules, or codes, but then i thought nah, i want a saber, i want the old wise jedi to try and tell me what to do and i can rebel against them and be a bad ass assassin, but always a good guy in the end, plus not alot has been revealed about this class unlike the bounty hunter, it spoils it, i know most of the companions the BH gets.. not cool.

and seeing as consulars study the force alot, you could be good at first, being like an assassin for the republic and the jedi order, but then turning nasty and slowly falling to the dark side and becoming a dark jedi assassin, daniel erikson said that when you fall to the dark side, your characters appearance changes like in the kotor games, like your skin starts going greyish and you look nastier and they say the consular is more like an investigator jedi which is cool

yeah i might go for a consular shadow, i like the fact they are like the splinter cell of the jedi order, the stealthy ninja assassin type, i enjoyed playing as a rogue in warcraft so it suits me, and the bonus is i get a cool lightsaber and i get to use the force and be in something special the jedi order, classes like the bounty hunter seem cool, but they arent part of anything, and i find that boring, just going around killing for money seems like it would get boring after a while

It's definitely different than seeing the usual heavy armored character wading through damage by sheer size and reinforcement alone. But think of it as an evasion tank. Although they have lighter gauge armor; They'll be using the Force itself to shield, their speed to avoid, and saberstaff to deflect and mitigate damage. If someone opted to fully spec into the defensive tree of those Advanced Classes, I'm guessing they could be viable Main Tanks.

@zephire2088 I think it's more accurate to say they can off-tank. I doubt they'll be as effective as a Jedi Guardian or Trooper

@tidus814 they you should say that trooper cant heal but offheal. the truth is that trooper is a healing class too. you get to pick between 2 advance classes at level 10, each with 2 different tech trees, the third being shared between both. trooper can dps, tank, heal. so can the consular :) thats the same with inquisitor, the sorcerer dps/heals and the assasin dps/tanks.

I know theirs no such thing, but thats the annoying thing, Bioware are breaking the mold and usual archetypes

@randomlolkid He can be mage class too since you can choose to specialize as a sage at lvl 10 he will be caster healer then. There are two specializations Sage and Shadow. Shadow is more melee and Sage is more ranged.

@randomlolkid If you want pure damage class Smuggler would good for you since he only uses pistols. Jedi consular is more focused on learning and mysterious of the force. It is star wars so NO Jedi is pure range class.

At lvl 10 every class chooses a specialization so you have two class in one since a specialization chooses changes 2 of 3 talent trees.

@Awoezel it has similar graphics to sw knights of old republic and since it is the continuation of it ; it is only natural it looks similar. No mmo will look like crysis II plus not everyone have superb pc allowing you to play it. And since it is a mmo it is all about number so the graphics are lower to allow more people to play it.

@drewbarth123 Depends. If you pick the Sage Advanced class then it can be a long range DPS or Healer. If you decide on the Shadow AC it can be a Rogue like stealth melee DPS or tank.
