  • The occupy LSX protesters are against socialism not capitalism. Capitalism isn't about bailing out banks, that's socialism.... Polly Toynbee sounds like Margaret Thatcher!!!!

  • I want this video on my 3110 classic unit.

  • Isaby is a Tool.

  • Jonathan Isaby is an unashamedly downright right wing conservative. Isaby is totally insane in hinting of an idea people should stop protesting and go quielty back to their workplaces in order to conform to the way things have been for decades in their lifetimes and for centuries in history books. Current economy may momentarily bounce back to boom cycle if these protesters return to work, but, in the long run, this unjust system based on 'greed' won't last forever. the system will see its end

  • If the banksters that caused this whole mess in the states had been jailed for their fraud we wouldn't be looking at the whole industry with such disdain.

  • Toynbee skinned that guy alive.

  • LOL. Working harder within the monetary system makes you look stupid if some freeriders keep taking value out of the system.

  • DEMAND-Your GovtS create money(just like banks DO)and lend it to people+ business BUT at ZERO% interest! Repayments (small+spread over MANY years) are added to taxation to fund health, education, infrastructure etc(You know-a 21st century society)NOT syphoned off into the pocket of the 1% who DIGITALLY transfer it abroad for 5mins,suck $£s etc from THEIR 99% and MOVE ON.The 1% are NOT patriotic. (Banner?= Interest Free Money! Interested? WHO Wouldn't Be?) a $ a £ etc-JUST inventions. So RE-invent

  • The hollow, capricious cant of this monster bien pensant dogmatist, Toynbee, will - according to the hypocritical trend of her code received via the seedbed of the fascist BBC-Guardian-Lambeth Council propaganda apparatus she obeys - on another hand say that it is heresy to address any concern for the issue of a negative impact of mass immigration, because the sacred, violently enforced view is that the same lower-middle-class filth are too feckless to do the jobs filled by foreign slave labour.

  • Well said Polly !!!! We are the 99% !

  • If this Jonathan twat had a braincell it would die of loneliness.

  • I always took a negative stance on anti-capitalist protestors making the normal cheap jibes about them wearing designer labels having smart phones etc. But, then I started to look at the corrupt banking system, the Federal Reserve and how money comes about -- I was staggered at my prior ignorance. Basically, the banks print our money and lend it back to us with interest - they are underwritten by the tax payer. They want obedience and slavery --get a job, pay your taxes so bankers get richer!!.

  • Well SAID that woman!! Boy, did she make him look dim...

  • Polly is wonderful. This guy is very unconvincing. Half-baked lazy arguments.

  • Tick, tock, tick, tock.

People like this TPA chap are merely holding down a beach ball under the water. They can't hold it down forever and eventually, they'll need to let go. At that point, the whole house of cards falls down.

  • The Taxpayers' Alliance should remember the poorest members of society are also taxpayers and the poor pay VAT, National Insurance, Council Tax at a disproportionately higher rate of their income than the richer folks. Instead of criticising and patronising the protesters The Taxpayers' Alliance should be out there demanding some redress from the financial institutions that were gifted massive amounts of public money.

  • Good

  • Well done, Polly!

  • he looks like a fat owl...

  • @maxraptoryeah I think fat cat is more appropriate here.

  • The chubby man makes me laugh

  • I would not want to be on the other end of an argument against Polly that's for sure. She just tore into him, I loved it. :D

  • shes right, if he stood for taxpayers he would be in full support of this protest

  • Was that man the right way round?

  • I'm a capitalist and I support this movement. "Socialism for the rich, free-markets for the poor" is an utterly appalling concept. If the extreme wealthy can't remain such, let them fail, don't use my damn tax money to keep them that way! I pay taxes for social welfare, not corporate welfare, thank you.

  • shut up fatty and get another big mac u muppett!!

  • He's right. Capitalism has put clothes on our backs. Just ask the child working 12 hours a day in the Asian sweatshop who makes those clothes. I'm sure that child is overjoyed to be earning a pittance to help feed her family and would rather be helping to support Jonathan Isaby's capitalist system, than going to school, playing with her friends and just having a childhood. Ah! The freedom that capitalism brings to the world!

  • @MrLion1885 what ! you say you love sweatshops in China as a reason to praise capitalism. have you gone enormously mad to the point of twitching your eyelids ? sweatshop is the basis of reason why conscious consumers don't purchase their running shoes from some brands. sweatshop is also the reason why smart customers who've done their own research do not buy automobiles or mobile phones out of certain companies because they know how these companies exploit child labor without proper provisions.

  • BREAKING: Police REFUSE to arrest protesters! #OccupyAlbany #OccupyWallSt

  • kensei85, I assume that if you don't want free stuff or to be taken care of by the government, you are not in receipt of any benefits and you are currently repaying your loan?

  • @mklmri im smart enough to put aside savings and our family always looks out for eachother (and anyone else in need) i pay back parts of the loan when working, i do actually work, im a qualified biomedical scientist, but where i live the openings are few and far between. i knew what i was getting into when i went to university, nothing is for free.

@DieByMyHand1 yeah because i dare oppose the occupy cult im clearly a fox news viewer, not to mention a right wing, racist, sexist homophobe, huh?

  • @kensei85 You saved enough to be able to support yourself without any benefits or tax credits? Then you can hardly compare yourself with the average unemployed person, the average person doesn't earn enough to be able to afford to put aside large sums of money, it's got nothing to do with how "smart" you are.

  • Neither is everyone lucky enough to have a family to help them out (mine, just as an example, consists of my mum who is retired from teaching on a pittance of a pension, and my sister who is severely disabled due to a brain tumour and has had to close down her business, we have seen our business income fall by about 70% due to the recession). Plus, you're not really unemployed if you are working some of the time, are you.

  • And if you have a student loan then you have accepted help from the government, why didn't you finance your degree yourself or with a private loan if you are against government help? You didn't pay 9K in tuition fees either did you.

  • @mklmri times are hard for all, we're also caring for an elderly disabled lady who's homeless. I've been out of work for a year so yes I really am unemployed, what I meant is that I'm not a 3rd generation welfare parasite like these people, most of whom have never done an honest days work and never intend to. Student loans come from the student loans company, I knew what I was getting into accepting this, and it's fair enough that I only pay back after earning £18k PA, take some responsibility!

  • @kensei85 Have you looked at the demographic for the protesters? Are they really "3rd generation welfare parasites"?

  • @IwatchesTehBBC cause that will solve the problem -,- dick

  • @loud09pwn looking for work will solve more problems than sitting round getting high and whining for hand-outs.

  • @kensei85 What you say is ridiculous!! Do you know for a fact that the protestors are '3rd generation welfare parasites who've never done an honest day's work'? No, I suspect you don't, so don't say that. Honestly, you don't know what you are talking about. I know several protestors who have full time jobs, and 'occupy' in their spare time. Before you cast aspertions about people, please make sure of your facts

  • im an unemployed young adult and have student loan debt but you dont see me crying about it, demanding free stuff and bigger government to take care of me, don't you dare link us to these scum on the streets, they are less than 1% of the population, crying for mob rule, pure "democracy" in action.

  • @kensei85 Who are the "scum"? If you're talking about the Occupy the City people you need to take a look at yourself mate, you haven't got a clue...no-one is asking for more government, we're demanding a government that doesn't take our hard earned money and give it to banks who give it directly to directors as bonuses. What do you suggest everyone does then? Maybe you should watch Fox news more, it's right up your cold street.

  • its not let them eat cake its don't let them breath air. Both of these are lost but the fat guy is so lost up his fat backside it will take him weeks to find it and if he get out he'll have no friends. I bet my over paid tax his mother hates him and he wont have a father.

  • Awesome :) Love her!

  • I love it! I've wanted to yell those same words at every prick who came out with ''Get a Job'' over the last 2 years, and she said it so wonderfully, makes me want to cry... But in a smiling way.

  • The banksters do not need regulation, they need jailing and having their assets stripped.

  • Fat piggy is a waste of tax payers money

  • Too many disinformation NeoCon Zionist agents criticising Wikileaks, Anonymous, OWS, Students, UK UnCut, COR, we need to fight Financiers Hedge Fund Managers who Lobby, Bribe and dominate the Governements that do not really represent us.

  • "This is going to spark something much more than you quite realize." I agree. If the current broken economic systems aren't replaced, well history has shown that after people realize their signs are ignored and their voices crushed, they pick up sticks instead.

  • Stand for tax payers. What a laugh. He is a traitor.

  • Mr Piggy Director wants to keep us all down and repressed whilst he makes a fortune and supports the government in their dictatorship.

  • capitalism- the system that has put clothes on peoples back..

resouse based economy- the system where everyone would already have what the need

  • wow - well said

  • Politicians keep telling us that economic growth will solve our problems - that we must produce & consume more each year. Crazy idiots will destroy the Earth's eco ststems & deplete the Earth's natural resources quicker than we are already. Only the rich get richer as the nation borrows more money to stimulate economic growth. We are up to our eyeballs in debt already, borrowing more is madnes but again those lending the money will only gain.

  • Tax payers alliance is no more than a mouth piece for the coalition condemnation of fraudster liars and traitors in Westminster

  • Fractional reserve banking(making money/debt when the banks have not physically got the money is the main problem.

  • Fat maaaan with his kids and dog! Walking throuuuuugh the morning fog!

  • people on medium wages who are 'really really' suffering? Pffflltttt! Do me a fuckin' favour!

  • ha, par.

  • Bashing capitalism was already done by those who claim to be "too big to fail" such as the oligarchy of mega banks and global corporations! The mom and pop shops of Main Street and entrepreneurship were real capitalism until it was enamored by unfair competition of big corporations that paid politicians millions of dollars to represent them instead of the people. The phrase "Made in America" isn't printed as often as we want because our jobs are going overseas.

  • @VerseInfinitum this belief paradigm is humourous, yet sad at the same time =/

  • They're protesting because they can't get jobs.

    His solution: get a job.

    Conclusion: Fuck that guy.

  • @bobbygnosis why is he talking dont trust any of the so called intellectuals they in reality no nothing they let us down

  • PS Polly Toynbee makes my heart sing too!

  • So impressed with Polly Toynbee. As an unemployed person suffering with disillusionment from repeated "not this time" type responses to job applications, hearing this fable of "Oh, if the unemployed would only go out and get a job" is INFURIATING. There are no jobs and everything else I have to say... Well, listen to Polly Toynbee, she says it so well...

  • Last days of the Roman Empire - brilliant analogy.

  • Oh Snap!!! <3

  • good vs bad capitalism? what's the difference?

  • @ProtoCyberpunk

one is corrupt, and the other isn't.

we shouldn't be making this a capitalism vs socialism issue.

  • @sk8bow State capitalism vs private capitalism, doesn't sound like an alternative to me.

  • @ProtoCyberpunk Just good vs bad PEOPLE.

  • @OpenPYourLMindZ Sounds naive.

  • @ProtoCyberpunk It is naive but it's the difference.

  • communist drivel

  • One of the only States still solvent in America is North Dakota, and, lo and behold, North Dakota is the only State with a State owned bank. Call it socialism if you like, but it works. Money should be controlled by the government even in a capitalist economy.

  • You go Polly. Give that slime ball a piece of your mind. Prosecute the thieves who got us into this mess and start enforcing the laws regarding predatory lending. Credit Default Swaps should all be made null and void. Bail out mortgages and pension funds, not the banks. Shrink the size of the banks, or better yet, nationalize them.

  • I just watched it in the uk

  • She handed his fat arse to him on an Alan Partridge sized plate. How can he pretend to care about taxpayers when he defends the bankers who fuck us over, sepecially when we bailed out the cunts.

  • Polly Toynbee is my new hero, she absolutely wiped the floor with Jonathan Isaby! I have been told this video has been disabled in the UK, I can still see it here in Germany!

  • Read Ron Paul´s article in the Wall Street Journal today. The root of the problem is the government and the FED monetary policy.

  • Tax Payers Alliance, I think it might help if your spokespeople didn't look like cartoons of overfed capitalist scumbags ;o)

  • THIS IS GOING TO SPARK SOMETHING MUCH MORE THAN YOU QUITE REALIZE!

    can't be more truth!

  • money = evil

  • Polly Toynbee, you make my heart sing! Of course some body with a dick-ish name like "Tax-Payers Alliance" would be a Conservative Party front -- thank God she pointed it out. She handed his ass to him and for that I love her.

  • @Libby7 It's remarkable how much Jonathan Isaby looks and acts like a twisted clone of Mark Hoban Conservative MP for Fareham and Eric Pickles Conservative MP for Brentwood and Ongar

  • It's interesting to me to hear what I would term liberals, perhaps leftists - by that I don't mean communists talk about the fall of the Roman Empire. Communists have always argued that societies rise and fall, and that capitalism has been in its decadent era for a long time. It does not mean the end of the world but new social relations will have to replace the old ones or it will get worse and worse, social disintegration. Everyone can see the deepening barbarism around the world.

  • "what went wrong" was that governments of both 'new Labour' and Tory listened to people like you, you ignorant fucker, and insisted on 'light touch regulation', which demonstrably failed. Your task now is to FUCK OFF.

  • '...Not Hong Kong'... Yes Hong Kong?

  • wait? Do the British not interrupt each other on TV? How are they suppose to get their points across without screaming over each other?

  • Whats with the weird echo on this video?

  • Tory scumbag.

  • Tories like Isaby complain that there wasn't enough 'regulation' of the banking sector. Up until 2008 people like him were calling for LESS regulation of the banking sector. Idiots.

  • Zeitgiest Movement.... the monetary system will collapse

  • This really shows how out of touch Jonathan and his ilk are , nice one Polly :)

  • "Banker's have been working with a profit motive" - CORRECT, NOW FUCKIN STOP IT LOL

  • kill em all!

  • Capitalism, in each and every incarnation has built the very same structure the people are protesting in front of. It has laid the very streets they walk upon, it drives the buses they rode to get there, it fuels the electricity they use to charge their smart phones, it is the force that created the tents they will sleep in.

It built the underground, the London Eye, maintains all the bridges, is the foundation for tourism.

The mismanagement of money is not an indictment of capitalism

  • At least Emma Boon has some intelligence, I think she just sent a lacky along, nice going Polly!

  • @fatsmellyasshole Your idiotic trolling/drooling is helping OWS, thank you. Good luck with the sister/mother fucking tonight, best of luck to your mutant children in school, etc.

  • It's nice to see that clueless rightwing douchebags are exactly the same in every country.

  • Polly Toynbee = Heroin

  • Give it to him Polly !!!

  • She wiped the floor with that piggy eyed fat bastard, great job

  • @DieByMyHand1 Just because he is piggy eyed and fat and to be honest rather dull and nauseous is no reason to insult his Mum. There again perhaps you are right she brought the prick up.

  • i still believe its the central banking systems that should go, 'capitalism' would be fairer this way, the lady is mostly right, but a little misconstrued. the scandanavian countires are the richest because sweden is the HQ for central banking, (the BIS). more regulation is a joke the politician/bankers regulate themselves will they? other than that she is a very nice and strong lady, hat off to her!

  • Great upload thanks. Some good comments too-but can I just say,everyone-don't be content to fight this battle from your keyboards, visit your local occupation,if only for one night or even just a day, join the global resistance to the greedy, corrupt few-only massive numbers can give us even a hope of victory! (and yes we were there Saturday & we're going back up again next week from Dorset)

  • @orangeboy Polly is a journalist, paid not with taxpayers' money, but by an organisation that values her contribution highly. She is extremely good at doing what she does. As a voice for people who don't have one, to suggest that SHE expects "us" to put up with unacceptable educational standards is a nonsense - she writes very passionately on the subject of a better universal education. Does private schooling detract from her overall position. Perhaps. But "zero credibility"? Don't be daft.

  • Polly definitely killed the Tax Payers Alliance dude but Polly is a hypocrite. She lives in a million quid house, earns huge amounts of cash, educates her kids in private schools yet expects all us to put up and shut up with unacceptable education standards and flies back and forth to her Italian villa whereas working class kids down my road have never been anywhere. She needs to [practise what she preaches or else she looks like a hypocritical socialist with zero credibility.

  • @1988orangeboy how does she do that? Move out of her house and give all her possessions away? She's doing what a good journalist should do, speak out

  • @DieByMyHand1 She could actually practise what she preaches and downsize, she is a socialist after all, right? I am sick to death of protesters and socialists coming from these wealthy backgrounds. They are hypocrites. Socialists that actually have solidarity with the lowest paid in society by practising what they preach, modest home, living wage etc, I have a lot of respect for. Polly, on the other hand, sends his kids private schools, owns million quid homes and is very rich.

  • @1988orangeboy and one of the directors of the Tax Payers Alliance lives in the Loire Valley and has paid no UK tax for 14 years...many working class people are not educated to the level that some of the toffs are so can't always articulate their argument how they want to, so thats the job of people like Polly, to speak for others. Downsizing? Oh do me a favour and fuck off...austerity immediately after a global recession was a cataclysmic mistake and has sentenced us to more years of suffering

  • @DieByMyHand1 all this crap about "the current climate" and making people feel grateful they have a job so should shut up, its making me sick, its tactics employed to keep us in fear...fear of poverty, fear of war, fear of terrorism, fear of immigrants... never be afraid to say what you feel as loud as you can, it's the only way anything is going to change!

  • I am completely with the lady! :)

  • viva la revolution

  • fat dick i hope he chokes on a drum stick that fucking piece of shit id rather shit on my own face and kick my dog in the back while sitting on my cats kittens then look for one more second at this big pile of fat round bacon eating fat fucking shit faced prick stick fat fucker wanker banker arse tit BOLLOX ON UR FACE MATE HAHA

    lol xD

  • noooooo - them there suits are still not seeing things the way things are going. down with politics, down with the monetary system, and down with war and down with organized religion. YAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's a good plan if they listen while we're still friendly... the french revolution was a walk in the park...

  • Comment removed

  • Thank fuck ther are people like Polly Toynbee for speaking out.

  • Polly puts that fat bag of shite in his place!

  • Hehehe. They STILL don't get what's going on. Poor poor rich folks.

  • UndNowVeDanse: That's a ridiculous point to make. Are you saying that only those people earning under 100k should have opinions on fairness?

  • Polly for Parliament!

  • Toybee's right, but she earns over £100K a year and is actually in the top 1% of income earners in the UK.

  • wow, what a ridiculous corpulent prick. great work, polly.

  • Wtf is he on??? People should be getting out there and working??? Jeeeez...shows just how out of touch these people are with reality...

  • Fuck this fat asshole, and fuck capitalism. It has served its purpose and it's time to move on.

  • You have had generous hand-outs from US, and the very FIRST thing you all did was you paid yourself generous bonusues out of that money - and WE (the 99%) could say NOTHING. But we are now. We are saying it loud and clear.Capitalism HAS to change!

  • Do we have to regulate so that you will understand that the money you have been trusted with IS THE SUM TOTAL OF PEOPLES LIVES, CAREERS AND LIFELONG SAVINGS - NOT 'Monopoly' money as some of you seem to have thought. Lastly: there ISN'T an endless supply of cash for you to 'play' with, and if we keep sliding back into recession you and your kind will become hunted like animals, because all forms of security will fail.

  • Change is NOT wreckage. It is easy for you to say that, for the last ten years you were acting within the constraints Government set for you - Christ man! Does THAT mean you had NO moral compass, no sense of self-decency, no social compassion towards your fellow man? Do we have to tie your hands in order for you to realise the possible consequences of your stupidities?

  • To 'assume' that we are all 'Barbarians at the Gates' ready to wreck the system is just his desire to appear 'victimized.' No Mr Isaby. You are NOT a victim. Not yet. But continue to assume we're all stupid, scroungers, work-shy or even just (as you have inferred from saying we 'generalize too much,' over simplistic in opur approach and then the flood gates will open - and you, and your excremental kind will be flushed from the streets of the Capital.

  • Mr Isaby is either very, very, stupid or just monumentally ignorant: either way, HE is the embodiment of the kind of idiot that we (the 99%) have to deal with. He represents EVERYTHING that is wrong with the Capitalist System - because he acts like a moron in the face of overwhelming odds.(Legend might say that) Like King Canute, he tries to tell the Sea to 'go back' and drowns as a consequence.

  • Go, Polly, Go!

  • Bastiat90

If you ' libertarians' had had your way, we would have seen massive losses of people's life savings, banks closing overnight, no money available to account holders. This is the same disasterous lunacy that was espoused by our current chancellor. Without state intervention we wouldn't be staring into the abyss we be in full blown economic apocalypse. The system is broken. Wake up.

  • So you're basing your entire argument on a hypothesis. Whereas we know what communism, socialism and corporatism has done to a country, we have never had a libertarian society. So we don't know. I postulate it will work will, and you leftist clowns should support it, because if people are as 'leftist' as you believe, we will redistribute our wealth voluntarily, thus ensuring nobody is left behind.

  • Our current government has spent even more than the last one. Public spending has increased, so has taxation. Borrowing is up, both debt and deficits have increased. It must be hard when the facts fuck you, but libertarians have been warning about protecting yourself for decades now.

Do you not see the irony in your statement? You criticise state intervention (government bailing out banks) and then say we need it at the same time. Cognitive dissonance or just mindless fucking stupidity?

  • @Bastiat90 Where in my post did I criticise the government bailing out the banks? I pointed out the likely results had that not happened. The fact is,the banks, at least those bailed out, are massively in debt to the rest of us. All of us. At least on that you must agree? Yet they still behave as if they are a law unto themselves. And they continue unchallenged by our current government. Perhaps you'd like to sketch out what a libertarian view actually means?

  • ''Without state intervention we wouldn't be staring into the abyss we be in full blown economic apocalypse.''

That's pretty explicit to me. I despise the banks, I wouldn't have bailed them out. Your crowd is full of morons who criticise governments bailing out banks and then praise state intervention in the economy.

Libertarians believe in getting rid of 95% of the government. Simple enough to understand.

  • the taxpayers alliance are the fucking enemy!!!!!!

  • There is no such thing as "good capitalism". Capitalism is broken. It will try and save itself at our expense. we must not let it succeed, for it will drown the world in blood (as it did in WW1, WW2, and has been doing throughout africa, asia and the middle east ever since! cpgb-ml.org "Time to face it CAPITALISM MUST GO!"

  • Anti, Anti Capitalista!

  • Go Poly! Stick it to that fat tory lobbyist b*****d.

  • My wife and I have worked hard for all of our lives, do not have any debt, and have saved for our future. We are both now OAP's our saving are worthless as any interest earned is less than inflation the (raided) pension plans that we paid into over the last 30+ years are paying out a figure so low that we would have been better stuffing the money under the matress. Instead we have propped up failed institutions and are still doing so. "Protests - Too Big To Ignore"?

  • Wow, I can't believe the Tory troll went with the whole "They should get jobs" shtick. Not only is the job market currently dire (we're seeing record numbers of applicants for an increasingly small number of jobs), but you'll find that a lot of these protesters are actually gainfully employed! His argument is juvenile.

  • Capitalism has run it's course! Time for change!

  • Go Polly. She wiped the floor with him.

  • If Polly doesn't think she pays enough tax, she can voluntarily donate whatever proportion of her income she feels fair. The Occupy crowd are fucking morons. They attack capitalism and write about it using their Iphones, Ipads, laptops and Blackberry's. Do they not see the irony in calling for greater state intervention, when it was state intervention that bailed out the bankers. If us libertarians had been in charge, we would have let them fail.

  • @Bastiat90 Which is why capitalists don't actually want you in power. on this point though, we are agreed - let them fail, we will take over the reins.

  • The problem is when socialists take over, they don't let anyone else have a go. You're as bad as the plutocrats. Just more of the same statist totalitarianism.

  • Polly! Polly! Polly! <3
