Well the original Teaparty was called into life as a protest against a tax cut
that was given to a (foreign) tea company. It made them the sole importer of tea in the US back in those days. Other entrepreneurs involved with import of tea were now called smugglers, because it was illegal now for them to import tea into the US. The current Teaparty has not so much to do with the original Teaparty. It is a cleverly disguised scheme to get the rich richer.

The Tea Party movement won't amount to anything in the end because in this totally controlled system they have no choice but to try and translate their successes through the Republican Party, and the Republican Party is where democracy goes to die.
