My balances aren't the square tube type pictured. There are two rectangular plastic pieces at the top with screws and coiled metal springs below that with the clip that retains the window sash at the lowest point. Can I get the replacement parts at Swisco and how are they replaced? Thanks for any help you can provide.
Hi Mark, it sounds like you have coil sash support balances. Yes, you can order replacement parts for this type of sash support system on SWISCO's Web site. You can reach the window sash support balance on SWISCO's Web site: Catalog > Door & Window > Sash Support Hardware (sorry YouTube will not allow me to post links). You can also start a support case with us and we can walk you through the process of choosing the correct replacement coil balance hardware.
@JayGrondo I am glad you found this video helpful. If you have any questions regarding channel balances feel free to ask questions here or start a discussion with one of our window experts (see the 'discussions' section of our Web site).

Shows clearly what my video did not cover, that is, the removal of the sash. Mine only shows how to re-install spring balances.

Oooooh, that is what the silver tabs on the side are for, to keep the channel from continuing up when one wants to remove the window.
