@Smokingfox3 Lol I know how you feel. I felt so pleased when I put the shuttle into a stable orbit for the first time. That said I've been using Orbiter for ages and it was only recently I managed to do Apollo 11 to the point of landing on the moon. I can't get any further than that at the moment as I don't know how :P I've still never learnt how to re-enter in the right place either

This while Europe and the Soviet union were bankrupt and even then the soviets beat you into space..... Even now, Nasa is planning on paying the ESA for rides into space. The ESA and NASA are planning a lot more future co-op because NASA has the money and Europe the technology and engineers.

Apollo 11 Suffered no engine failures the only in flight engine failure was on Apollo 13 when the engine on the second stage cut out to stop it's self exploding in fact the only error Apollo 11 suffered was a computer overload during the decent to the lunar surface

but other than that very good have tried using orbiter with only limited sucsess wish i could have seen the rocket doing what it does best

@101hanne On every Saturn V launch, the inboard engine would shut down at approximately T+2:25 to lessen the stresses of acceleration. the F1 engines could not be throttled, as the space shuttle engines are, so they turned one off a little early...that's the "inboard engine out" call it wasn't an emergency situation.

Every single addon is unzipped with duplicate directories to those of the install path.

You just gotta slide all the content of a download (the maps) into the installation directories then click to overwrite maps and then click to verwrite the content when it pops up.

Other orbiter downloads can also come in exe files which makes installing even more easy.

When a installation in orbiter acquires more detailed settings or changes its always mentioned on the downlaod site

I really wish you mean Kilometers per second rather then miles or else they wouldnt see earth from close distance ever again. As for 8kilometers per second, yes its the orbital speed constant for a object (spacepod) around a altitude of 100km.

Basically means it travels from your home, to the closeset shopping mall 8kilometres from your town, in 1blip. Ye its siik.

Hold on shouldn’t there be more gantry arms holding onto the Saturn V to prevent it from tipping over. The hold down arms will be released within millisocouds once the vehicle has the correct thrust to launch.

Despite their size, Saturn rockets were more aerodynamically sound than shuttle. Also had escape tower rockets. U,S. will be returning to this design eventually. But at some point,new type of heavy lift launch vehicle must be devised. Ideally impulse system (100 years?) which might also be used for continuous super fast space propulsion. i.e. Jupitor is 2 weeks.

I don't need to watch the film I've seen it at lest over a 100 times since 1995. Not bad just a little out of timed, maybe that's because I'm listening to the score.

Thank you very much for mentioning in the title that it's simulated. Too many times I've been annoyed, expecting actual launch footage. Sims such as this one are interesting in their own right, but should be labelled as you have.

0:46 No the tower is not clear the top gantry arms was in the lower part of the Saturn V boasters and it would be clipped and will move from its proper angle and veer straight into the ground!
