I don't know what it is about this scene - no matter how many times I watch it or just a clip, I bawl my eyes out. My heart drops to my stomach and half of it I can't even explain. The bond that Jensen and Jared have on and off camera is amazing and it shows in their acting. To have that type of connection with someone, whether it's friendship, family or something else is a rare thing to have. And these boys have it.

@ChocolateDism Before that he was trying to reassure himself that Sam was going to be okay. He kept saying that he'd be fine when he patched him up. Most of it was Dean trying to tell himself that his brother wasn't dying in his arms but he was probably also trying to reassure Sam, being the forever protective older brother. When he did yell out, I agree he yelled out knowing he was dead and he was too late to do anything to save him.

I can barely watch this... This is all the things that's under the surface of Dean's character all the time; he loves Sam more than anything, there's nothing more important than keeping him safe, but he doesn't quite know how to show it. And when this happens, it's his entire world coming down. Jensen is such an amazing actor. <3

Firstly, I love this scene. It never ever gets old. It will always be that scene that can bring me to tears no matter how often I see it. I remember the first time I saw it I didn't quite understand what had happened and why Sam just collapsed, and I remember watching it over and over and that sickening feeling when I realised that Jake had severed Sam's spine... *shudder* Dean and Sam break my heart. And if anyone's wondering, the song playing is called "Americana" and its on the soundtrack :)

OMG I cry nearly everytime watching this, Dean's reaction is so upsetting, it was bad enough that Sam died but when Dean cried, he just gets me T_T Sam's death is most certainly sadder than Dean's mainly because of reactions. Seeing Dean cry is sooo freakin sad...Sam kinda cries a little too often though when his werewolf girlfriend had to die, Sam's crying then really upset me cause he really meant it. They are both two freakin awesome actors! Love the series

Jensen's acting in this scene is absolutely remarkable. He perfectly managed to pass down to us the pain of knowing your losing the person you care the most about and trying to convince yourself, more than for the other person, that everything is going to be okay. The facial expressions, the tone of his voice... In this scene Jensen has proven withour a doubt that he is more than just a pretty face.
