As much as I disagree with Boehner on social issues and some parts of his voting record, I respect him for how much he's been through and how he spent his whole life pursuing the American dream after being born into a low-income family of 12.
Being a libertarian I disagree with him on most issues but I still respect a man who built himself from nothing.

This is Washington's version of the Oscars. The process is amazing to watch despite our opinion of the institution. My concern is that the R's don't get overzealous or the tide will turn again in the 113th Congress. I congratulate Boehner and ppl shouldn't be so hard on him for getting emotional. He came from humble upbringing to become the USA's number 3 most powerful government official. He is the American success story! Now they need to address the problems that afflict us. Pelosi didn't do anything but act as the Speaker of House. She couldn't do anything more than any other House of Representative member of introducing bills bottom line. Sure she had more power than others in the House but that comes with the position. On top of all that, she was the first FEMALE Speaker of House of Representatives.

@viletree I liked President Bush and respect the office he held. Just as I respect the office Obama holds. Just like you I did not agree with many of Bush's policies. But under the Obama administration our civil liberties are still being slowly eroded away. I have no agenda other than to elect the best person who represents me and my political view. I expect elected officials live up to the oath office they swore to support and defend, not twist and mutilate the Constitution of United States.
