  • why in the name of the fucking spider donkey that dude is without shirt?

  • They're all an upgrade from the Cork accent anyway..

  • well fuck is everybody from sin city in sons of anarchy now?!

  • Love how two of the actors are scottish and are just talking like they do normally and you blame them for doing shitty irish accents. God damnit, son.

  • @Mjaeff Yeah obviously they are shit Irish accents if they are not doing an Irish accent?

Sean Connery in Untouchables is the best example of this and he got an Oscar. WTF?

  • im irish and those accents are shocking

  • WHY WHY WHYYYYY when actors try to do irish accents do they do scottish accents???? GOOD LORD

  • @mufestojonesxx im learning the irish accent in school and honestly its really hard not only to do it but to hear the difference, sorry if i offended...

  • @vivesuvida nooooo im not offended at all, i just think its funny to hear! i hate my accent, although an american guy i work with said it sounds kind of american which is funny! theres loads different accents within ireland you should youtube dublin accents you'll get a better idea for them!

  • @mufestojonesxx thanks :)

  • @mufestojonesxx mainly cause they ARE scottish... try faking an accent yourself. see how easy that is. THEN complain again.

  • I think the terrible accent in Sin City was intentional. The other actors should be ashamed.

  • hahaha in the Charlie's Angels clip when the guy is doing the bad accent and then the girls start laughing haha

  • I would like to point out...Gerard Butler is Irish you idiot!

  • @britishsoccergirl He's Scottish!

  • @britishsoccergirl Gerard Butler is Scottish, he has Irish ancestry.

  • I don't understand why Gerard Butler couldn't just have played a Scotsman instead. Then he could just use his real accent.

  • BELFASHT!!

  • wow congratulations to the guy in Charlies Angels, Scottish, Irish, Northern Irish and Yorkshire accent all in the space of one minute! hahaha.

  • scottish and irish do not sound the same. foolish people

  • Well, I believe these days there are a lot of Scottish actors in Hollywood and Directors believe that Irish and Scottish accents are pretty much the same, although there not.

P.S. Sorry for my bad English.

  • The guy in sin city is Tommy Flannagan and he is scottish

  • 1 fake accent 2 very real accents. Try again.

  • @MrMeddled I'm not sure why Gerry is even in this. If anything, Jeffrey Dean Morgan had the worst Irish accent. But, I still love him!

  • The Guy in Sin City (Tommy Flannagan) With the scars on his face is actually Scottish .w.

  • there are very few american actors that truly pull iff irish accents... one of which thats almosty flawless is sean patrick flannerys in the first boondock saints... norman reedus' is pretty good to but in the second one its better than the first...

  • @brentjak The accents in Boondock Saints are pure shit! Examples of a good Irish accent put on in film are Cate Blanchett in Veronica Guerin and any of Daniel Day Lewis efforts at Irish characters (i.e. In The Name Of The Father, The Boxer, My Left Foot)

  • the guy from sin city (brian/ tommy flanagan) was born in glasgow scotland and thats almost his real accent... just subtle differences in it

also gerard butler from p.s. i love you(jerry) is also from paisly scotland and that is his legit accent... he doesnt even change it from scottish to irish but the differnce in the two is small for some dialects so he doesnt need to

for terrible irish accents watch kill the irishman ray stevenson and vinnie jones accents suck

  • @brentjak Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh, no. Scottish and Irish accents are related, but very different. Only Hollywood considers the two interchangeable.

  • The Charlie's Angels guy, it sounds like he says, "I'm gonna' teach you and your friends about peein'", not "pain", haha.

  • @samwestonpotter My sister and I thought the same thing when we saw the movie. He taught us about peein', alright. Peein' ourselves with laughter.

  • No American actor ever has successfully pulled of an Irish accent. Not even Meryl Streep. Everyone seems to copy whatever crap came before, all of which seem to stem for the Luck Charms cereal commercials. If you want an Irish character in your movie, hire an Irish actor to play it. There are plenty of them around.

  • The guy doing the accent in Sin City also plays Irish in Sons of Anarchy when they go to Belfast. Interesting.

  • @Awshbuscus Seriously. They don't sound anything alike, no matter what part of the world you're from.

  • Gerad Butlers is actually Irish

  • @TheUnKonformist No, he's Scottish.

  • hi, can anyone watch my video and tell me if i sound irish? thnx :-)

  • Should do a video feature on Clive Owen's awful American accents.

  • How do people not know the difference between an Irish and Scottish accent? It's like English to Welsh, seriously.

  • @Awshbuscus That would fall under the "stupid ignorant uneducated American" category. My husband is Scottish, like, actually from Aberdeen Scotland. And he gets reaaaaaaaaaaaally pissed at a lot of stupidity of Americans here. He says its just absurd.

  • lmao i dnt even care, the guy from charlies angles is sexyy af, nd i like the way he talks !! ;))

  • Comment removed

  • "give us the rangs"

  • The first guy talking in the Sin City clip is Irish-born actor Arie Verveen, and the second guy with the bombs is Scottish actor Tommy Flanagan.

  • is it wrong that i still think the charlies angels guy is hot?

  • @numanumalova123 Nothing wrong with that at all, i think the hotter one is the less we give a shit about flaws like a bad accent, or bad acting etc. example: i just watched 'the covenant' A SECOND TIME.

  • you have got to be shitting me with the last one :O

  • of course his name is seamus :L

  • jesus that was terrible

  • @ChaosDynamics No, its Americans trying to do slight dublin accents. Badly.

  • @MrMeddled Damn right! And a Scottish accent is distinct from a Northern Irish accent as well. They may sound similar to Americans, but Irish and British people can spot the difference a mile off.

  • First one: Mixture of scottish, (terrible) northern irish and english farmer/ west country accent. Last guy speaks hollywood (absloutely fake) irish accent. Second one: Americans doing mock up dublin accents and failing miserably. One british accent. Third one: Not from anywhere! Just made up by the actor I'd say.

  • i'm Irish, this is offensive it's so bad.

  • uh gerard butler IS irish..his accent isnt fake. basically youre just saying you hate his voice

  • @xaprilwindsx he's Scottish

  • @xaprilwindsx ALL the attempts at Irish accents in this video are crap. I'M Irish btw!!! Theres a good few kinds of Irish accent: Kerry, Cork, Limerick, North and South Dublin, Northern Irish/ Donegal, Mayo :) to name a few.

  • @mayo7410 anything but a county louth accent haha

  • I dont give a shit about the guys shitty accent in Charlies Angels. Hes fucking hot as hell.

  • @Dayna154 my sentiments exactly

  • You see they always get Scottish people to do Irish accents...I've a good idea, perhaps Irish people would be able to do the accent, then again maybe not :/

  • Phwoar, the sin city one was the most american Irish accent I have ever heard

  • he's trying toooooo hard

  • bits and pieces of it, werent 'too' bad lol.... the rest was utter rubbish.

  • nice arce!!:)

  • Yeah... Gerard Butler is scottish. thats his real accent

  • @hannahe15 Scotland is not Ireland...and you'll be amazed how much you DO NOT want to call

"irish" a "scotish" and viceversa. Get a map, mate

  • @hannahe15 Nope, he's trying to do an Irish accent, and a really bad one at that.

  • @TheThing88 Oh I guess P.S. I Love You he is supposed to be Irish... For someone who's not Irish or Scottish they both kind of sound the same to me.

  • @hannahe15 Yeah, I guess you being American and being able to differentiate between different state accents is the same as me being English and being able to tell Northern English, Scottish and Irish accents apart - but he's definitely, undeniably trying to a affect an Irish accent (the clue would be the fact that his character's explicitly stated to be FROM Ireland) and he's dreadful at it.

  • Seamus is also Scots Gaelic for James.....

  • ok first off the guy in sin city IS SCOTTISH....LIKE FROM SCOTTLAND....THATS HIS REAL ACCENT!!!

  • Can't they just hire Irish actors? --_--

  • I remember watching this charlie's angels film when i was younger and i kept thinking he was Scottish haha :L

  • I remember when I first saw Sin City, I went "That's an accent from Glasgow!"

That's so stupid when he says "Never give an Irishman good cause for revenge." especially since he's been speaking for five minutes and has been clearly identified as Scottish when he says that. Had they done the contrary, suggestion could have worked on some people at least. XD

  • im not irish but these offend me...

  • Before I opened this video i just knew Charlies Angels would be in it, how did that guy get that role?! It's just horrible!

  • @dltvofmr

    He was pretty hot though..

  • haha i LOVE how he says pain

  • The guy from Sin City is really Irish

  • @DMHR100 No he's scottish you might remember him from braveheart? and i dont know what accent he was doing but it was'nt one from ireland.

  • omg!! american actor and an irish accent dosent mix!!

  • And Sean Connery had the worst Irish accent in Untouchables, but he's acting carried over the accent and deserved the Oscar.

  • first thing people get wrong with the irish accent is the cursin or lack thereof, just aint authentic without it

  • All I knew about irish accent before was due to Back to the Future part III. However you can tell that this Hugh Jackman is Australian (and my speakers were low). Today I visit Irland! I'm so excited... By the way, I am Spaniard.

  • @armyRanger03 He's scottish, born in Glasgow :)

  • GOD justin theroux is hot

  • Ireland produces good actors (i.e. Cillian Murphy, Michael Fassbender). Why would you bother hiring Hollywood actors who can't do the accent, when you could get better actors who already have the accent and can do different regions??

  • @woopibaby Michael Fassbender was born in germany....but raised in Ireland.

  • @xxxSCHANDMAULxxx Yes but he speaks with an Irish accent as he was raised in Ireland, and he's a good actor.. My point is Fassbender and Murphy are better actors than most, they have a whole lot of talent in my opinion and they already have Irish accents.. they're perfect for the roles of Irish characters but Hollywood is blind to this!!

  • Charlies Angels: It has a bunch of thick Irish Paddies getting their arses kicked by a girl with a Union Jack tee-shirt. So not cool!

I'm Irish ... if I ever start to sound like any of those featured above I'm never speaking again.

  • im gonna teach u and your friends about peein...................shit

  • In p.s. i love you Gerry is a real Scottish man it's his real accent god!!

  • Did he just say "That's four hundred and seventeen wigs"?

  • sin city one wasnt bad

  • Also, where's Tom Cruise in Far and Away lol? Sure its an old film, but that is one feckin' shite Irish accent!

  • First one can't decide if he's Irish or Scottish lol.

  • @Babyslothwrangler true :L

  • you know I cant say i am an epert on irish accects but when I saw sin city I thought "My god thats fake"

  • @mirage8egarim

I agree. Julia Roberts accent is HORRIBLE- all I could think of when I was watching Michael Collins was her crappy accent

  • I find it funny that PS I Love You is on here. Gerard Butler is actually Irish.

  • @DreamscapeRuins Isn't he Scottish?

  • @GooGooGajoob67 Yes he is. He even went on to apologise for the fake Irish accent.

  • Comment removed

  • @DreamscapeRuins Gerard Butler is Scottish. His Irish accent was terrible, he should have known better!

  • the first one sounds more Scottish :/ haha P.s I love you is the worst

  • @Lv2Dancex I agree that first one does sound so scottish and yes Butlers PS I Love you was really bad

  • @mirage8egarim You talking about dan boyle? He has some flabby congestion thing with his nostrils, he fits in more with the dub crowd =D.

  • how come in every bomb movie the detinator always looks just like a lazer pen?seriously, if its a home made bomb, why is the detinator perfect?wtf?

  • Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • The Cork accent is by far the most superior. Dublin people sound like they got their fingers stuck up their nose. A belfast accent has the most murderous intent, and kerry people should just be deported. Limerick try their best tbh, but still not as good as Cork. Its the truth people.

  • @eireagusalbion ever heard a boyle accent? amazing! LOVE YOU CHRIS O'DOWD!

  • i love ps i love you!

  • SOCK ON DISH YA STOOPID SLAEG!!!! Hahaha that made me ROFL

  • # There is an accent for each of the 32 counties of Ireland with some counties having several accents, e.g. Dublin. # No Irish person says "top of the mornin' to ya". Each county have different ways of speaking. Mix a Kerryman with Cavaners and he wouldn't have a clue what they're on about. # Languages spoken are Hiberno-English and Gaeilge (translates to 'Gaelic' but called Irish not Gaelic. Gaelic is a group of languages which includes Irish and Scots.) # The Irish for Ireland is Éire not Erin

  • Anyone mention the guy with the Glasgow smile from Sin City actually is Irish?

  • Hollywood butchers the hell out of Southern Accents too....I could name 20 movies off the top of my head that has some Hollywood hotshot absolutely murdering a supposed legit Southern accent (Keanu Reeves in Devil's Advocate may be the worst)

  • 1:21

  • 1:23 what is he saying?

  • just so you can hear them scr-ream' brutal

  • the guy in charlies angles sounds like a mix between scottish and a bad australian accent

  • @joshcaprai

When he said, " How've you bein' I started laughing

  • @WunderDoob lol

  • @WunderDoob yea and then "so you can hear them screyem"

  • Gerard butler is a sex bot..

  • Gerard butler is actually Irish he was just raised in scotland which is why his accent is Scottish.

  • oh yeah and his names seamus how typical

  • if ur man is supposed to be irish, howd he walk through fire??? we cant even go out in the sun!

  • The only way to get a good accent from Ireland is to stay there in Western Ireland for a year. I did I came back with a slit accent its gone now though.

  • @LordHannigan Yeah, if you want that specific accent. Any accent from Ireland is a legitimate irish accent.

  • Hey guys u should watch In Bruges. Colin Ferrells accent is incredible!

  • @PiehunterXD thats because colin farrel is from ireland.

  • That guy who makes the beautiful little piece of speech in the sewer is an Irishman.

  • ok you gotta forgive Gerard Butler in PS I Love You. The poor guy is Scottish. The accents may sound similar but (being an actress who has attempted to learn both) they are very hard to do, particularly if you grew up with one or the other.

  • Gerard butler IS Irish. I don't think he's faking a accent.

  • @meaghannm he's actually scottish

  • @meaghannm Gerard Butler is Scottish, from Paisley, I think, the West anyway.

  • @meaghannm Sorry, just saw other people have said he's a Scot already. I apologise. :-)

  • Why, in gods name, would you try and mix an Irish accent with martial arts?

  • @XShinyDrumsX why not?

  • @XShinyDrumsX You've not watched much boxing, have you?

  • they just cant decide whether they're irish or scottish

  • Drew Scarrymore is SO gross!! Somebody please kill her with a Blarney Stone!

  • umm sun city was a very good accent um Gerard butler IS irish? lol fail

  • @rawfflecakes hes scottish actually but some of his family are irish

  • @rawfflecakes I thought the Sin City one was grand, but Gerard Butler is Scottish. Sorry.

  • Why does Hollywood do this ?

Why don't they just get Irish actors who can play the part just a well ?

  • @Drrummer the guys from sin city are irish:D

  • The "Howyu'beey'n ?" part killed me. :-P So "oirish" it hurts.

  • I think the guy from Charlies Angels is actually doing a Northan Irish accent, which is far more gutteral than the Southern Irish, so in my opinion he didn't do too bad - considering he's american :). The guy from Sin City is Scottish (was in Braveheard), so, because I'm Scottish - I know, it's really difficult to try an Irish accent, lol. God knows why, what with being so close and all... Gerard Butler was just plain awful, butchered it lol.

  • the guy in sin city is scottish tommy flanagan

  • The first one sounds more Scottish

  • Never mind the bad accent in Charlie's Angels, what about the camera work, direction, post production and dialog? Holy cow!!! The accent was a minor problem!

  • @straker2 It looks AWFUL, no danger I'll be watching that. :-)

  • Justin Theroux (charlies angels) did the worst accent but he's freakin hot so I don't care lol

  • The first one is Scottish wtf

  • The guy from Sin City is really Irish....

  • the charlie's angle's one was by far the worst

  • Although Butler's Irish accent was the more bad one, the film itself was really good though.

  • @Tomaji Eh, he tried his best. xD

  • @verevie

    Yeah, he did.

I actually take that back, he wasn't the one with the bad accent. The guy from Charlie's Angels is.

    Now that's just baaad. XD

  • 1:26 He sounds like Forrest Gump!! XD

  • whats the music in the back called when Shamus tells Dylan u have only been here five minutes

  • GIVAS DA RRENGS

  • Lol I love "I'm gonna kill them, just so you can hear them SCRAYUM.

  • The bad thing Butler did was an Irish accent ;-)

  • sin city one was irish, but easily the worst was gerard butler, and the mans scottish like how did he sound so american
