  • poor acoustics in the chamber used.

  • With the out of tune instrumentalist and over singing of some parts (soprano) along with a good peppering of other musical errors, this was just short of a train wreck and a butchering. This is such an amazing piece and never should have been performed as it was.

  • this is screaming!!

  • WOW!!!

  • I think if professional recording equipment would have been used this would have been a very good recording. Using just a video camera it still came out better than you would expect. Someone should have professionaly recorded this for a cd.

  • Chaotic.. I dont mean to be blunt but it sounded like several pieces of unglued wood-falling apart.

In fairness to the piece-this Morricone composition is a masterpiece, Please treat it as such

  • TROPPA CONFUSIONE

    TOO CONFUSION

  • can no one play in tune?

    this is aweful

  • i love orchestras:)

  • I LOVE the beginning. To bad the audio recording quality is not good.

  • I wish ALL Gabriel's Oboe/Nella Fantasia had a beginning like that.

Wonder where you can buy the sheet music for that?

  • Hello RodCornholio

"I wish ALL Gabriel's Oboe/Nella Fantasia had a beginning like that."

This is more of a rendering of another of the pieces the Great Master ENNIO MORRICONE wrote for the film 'The Mission', (the piece "embraces" Gabriel as it were) and is called 'ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN'

Here is the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK RECORDING:

  • NO gusta!!

  • Espectacular

  • sorry folks but this performance butchers the original music.

  • Que mierda de coro!!!

    The worst choir!!!

  • I am proud to have been born and raised there!! Zlata Praha

  • Now, that is the way this beautiful piece of music is supposed to be done. Thank you

  • It's an interesting arrangement, but personally, I don't think the original soundtrack recording (for 'The Mission') has been bettered. There the orchestration is what it's composer, the great maestro Ennio Morricone, intended and with him conducting too.

I do like the soaring female voice performing Chiara Ferrau's lyric.

  • After posting my comment, I kept searching for others and finally came across the recommended vid you referred to. There is no question his performance (live at Arena) is perhaps the most beautiful I have ever heard. This man is a genius and this performance is one I just wish I could have attended. The almost 9 minute presentation is astonishing. I wish I had know you had submitte this comment. I just stumbled onto it. Thanks, anyway for your suggestion.
