@moonieparone Nirvana are overrated but they did help usher in a somewhat better era for music. Bands like Nirvana were very original compared to all those shitty hair metal bands. Go watch the Decline of Western Civilization II and you'll see just how goofy, and soulless hair metal was.

Nothing has come close to matching early punk, and likely nothing ever will again. The labels aren't about to stand for another DIY movement getting huge without their influence.
