  • In the more conservative US??? Oh please!

  • bigotry sucks queen and freddie rock

  • 'I want to break free' was genius! And I doubt that any true American Queen fans would turn their back on them purely because of drag.

  • Yep, yet again it was Bush's fault...

  • the live aid concert of queen is really the best concert EVER

  • Geez you'd figure that this being A&E Biography they would have good pictures & video, they recycled pictures so many times through this show. Like the vid, Boo A&E

  • There is no room for bigotry and conservative attitudes in the creative field of music, theatre, dance etc. Many creative people have alternative sexual preferences and there is no room for judgment in this area and to censor these people with creative gifts due to society's ignorance. If we want to see the best from these geniuses they must be allowed freedom in their personal lives. They are beautiful people who are sharing a God given gift with us, so let's learn a lesson from the past.

  • Elton John was popular in the U.S. because his genre of music was pop. Rock had a different image in the U.S. and unfortunately Radio stations were not up with the times as England and other countries were in regards to being open to the flamboyant side of Freddie in "I Want to Break Thru". It's a shame really because Freddie would be considered harmless today, and probably would be celebrated for being ahead of his time. Look at Lady Gaga, outrageous, yet accepted. Queen fans were loyal!

  • It's unbelievably wrong, but Queen just aren't that popular in the US, but some of us here are intelligent enough to realize how incredibly talented they were. I'm too young to have seen them live, but I think they're the greatest band of all time.

The average American may be stupid, but there are still plenty of us here that love Queen. Freddie lives forever in our hearts.

  • It's funny because I don't remember it the way Paul Gambacini explained it. I've been a fan of Queen since the mid '70's and I'm from Texas. The fans, at least where I'm from, never gave up on Queen. What I do remember were the music critics coming down hard on Queen. And like that saying goes, the media will make you or break you. IMO the media tried to break Queen in the States. The fans never left Queen. Politics never played a factor.

  • @Yo1969Yo well said they tell ppl what they think will make their pay packect go up, half of them dont have a clue whats god music

  • lol this bio is weird

  • It's such an unbelievable shame that politics played a big part in Queen not being as huge in the U.S - i dont get it, Elton John has always been huge in the US and id say he was even more flamboyant in his costumes than Freddie was back then!

  • @NurseWeber25 Queen must have known the "I want to break free" video might not go down too well in the US but they chose to continue with it, they took the risk and paid the price.

  • @NurseWeber25 Paul Gambacini is a left winger and is using this documentary for his own political purposes. Most people don't like having homosexuality rammed down their throats regardless of their political hue. Like most other left wingers, he is so self righteous and full of himself. Just a trendy band wagon jumper I reckon.

  • @Maxshard he is really over the top in this bio... it ruined it for me.

  • She said he had a singlet on and she noticed some lesions on his arms.

  • What did Diana Mosley say at: 05:37...?

I caught him at one time with a ____ on and i noticed some ____ on his arms.

Excuse me but I don't understand what she said.

  • thank you so much posting this
