I am considering Delta's 60 point early retirement program. Will those of us who take the early out program benefit from any changes AFA can make it the Social Security Offset?
I can't see how AFA has really been that effective for the airlines it represents. the NW f/a's do't even like it. Now Teamster's, they play hardball.

I'm not saying Delta isn't going to screw you, but why get screwed twice? If the lady worked there for 36 years, it can't be that bad. If it is? Move on. Don't expect to get rich working in the airline business. They aren't making much money. If mgt. pays so well, apply for mgt. and not F/A.
This is very true. Everyone in the airline industry needs union representation. No airline is going to take care of its people out of the goodness of management's heart. Management will ALWAYS take the first piece and largest piece of the financial pie and just give the crumbs to the front line employees if they don't have a contract to guarantee minimum pay and benefits standards. Management's "word" at any airline is worthless. You need an enforcable contract!!

It is so important to my family, the loss of money due to S.S. offset is rediculous. We don't pay for medical insurance because we know one day we will need it, we pay for in case one day we need it. AFA is insurance for our jobs.
