Besides, a Carrier would never have a "Big Stick" like that, it would no longer be a carrier (where would they put it any how), besides a railgun is more suited for a super cruiser or battleship

@Evi1M4chine i hope u realize that these prototypes would never be out fitted to a ship, and if u knw something other than whts on tv, ur railgun would fuse together way before u run out of pwr. Future railguns will hve "rail" made from a stronger alloy, high friction resistance , beside wanna knw wht this thing can do when it finalized, it will hve greater penetration of a Bunker buster or AP, with the shear power of a nuclear tomahawk, i thnk the bad guys are going to run the other way.

there is a huge difference between EMP (electromagnetic pulse) and EM gun (electromagnetic gun). First uses electromagnetic pulse to "fry" (causing short circuit) electric circuits in any type of an electronic device. Second uses electromagnetic field to accelerate metal projectile...
