"You can push me all you want, but I'll fall when I decide."What a line. Like so much of Matt's lyric writing, it is so subtle, so psychological. These are not disposable pop songs, they express deeply complex thoughts and emotions. Yet, it seems most people in the UK, just don't get how amazing these songs are and what an incredible album Letters is. For me it is as good as anything Sting has written or recorded and I hold him in extremely high regard.

Some critics say that he can't sing his own songs because he sounds strained at times. What they don't seem to get is that he wants to sound like that. He wants it to sound raw. If you listen to Lost and Found from the single, he sounds smooth and polished as glass. He knows his voice is beautiful, but that is not what he is going for. He wants to convey raw emotions with these songs too. I think it is simply amazing.

I keep on watching the Sony UK facebook video of this tract from his KOKO gig. Sony made the footage amazingly good that I hope the DVD will be released. If you listen to the songs he chooses to cover, they are mostly American; country, folk, blues and pop. I am praying that Columbia brings him over to America this coming summer where he will be free of the X Factor bull shit he has to put up with over there.

@iamHM93 It is a good song. It was just a poor arrangement and video. Matt's arrangement for the Sun Biz Sessions was brilliant. He stripped it to just acoustic guitars, piano and drums. Very pretty song when done right.

It's a shame he became known through the X Factor because he's actually a really talented musician with a beautiful voice. I think he's less respected because of the X Factor but hopefully he'll shake that off over time and will be able to start writing his own songs and have more control x

@NanaMoon5 Many many people in the UK hate Simon Cowel and anyone associated with him, but Joe came back strong after moving to Decca. Matt's double contract with Syco and Columbia expires next March. I expect he will only renew the Columbia contract and will then be free of all association with Cowel. With only three exceptions, WWC, RFYL and Lost and Found from the single, he has co-written everything he has ever released, before or after X Factor.

I'm in love with this song... What's bad about Matt's album is neither his voice nor his songs. Yes they're not all great...but there are at least 4 songs there that are beautiful. But almost all the songs are overprocessed. His vocals are amazing and they did their best to hide that!
