  • ohh shit the under neath of that is broke :'(

  • what if your screen fell off :D

  • i had no backlight so i got a new lcd and replaced it as you have stated in previous psts but i stillam getting no backlight from the screen. anything you can think of?

  • @richards0170 Can be a motherboard issue. Any history to the device - such as previous repairs, water damage, major drops, etc?

  • @RepairsUniverse no i dont think so it just stopped working when i pulled it out my pocket the glass was craked but working and the lcd had no backlight

  • @richards0170 Normally, if the backlight is still not functioning correctly after a LCD replacement it means there is an issue with the motherboard. Sadly not many ways to resolve this issue easily, besides a motherboard replacement, to our knowledge.

  • Need step by step putting it back together

  • @GhostmysteryGhost Re-assembly is a very simple process. You can follow this video in reverse, this will show all steps required.

  • They should make a led iPod 6th gen

  • Is this the same way to replace the glass of the I touch because I bought some itouch with a whole mess of scratches on the glass itself I'm not not sure which it witch between the LCD and digitizer it just has scratches on the outer layer

  • @LoneWolf3061 Yes, nearly the same process is used to replace the glass touch screen digitizer (this is the part scratched on yours). We do have a video showing the process (on a 2nd gen, which is very similar).

  • @RepairsUniverse well theres a thing .im afraid of messing up and breaking my ipod for good. ive seen comments on other videos of the same topic saying the screen doesnt turn on .is there a way were i can get another person who can do it for me that has experience?

  • @LoneWolf3061 Many local repair shops can preform this repair. Also many "send-in" repair shops are competent.

  • Can you send me the links for all of these items used in this video? Most of the items on that page you put in the description are for 2nd generation and up.

  • @waddledee1000 Follow the link and select the correct generation. All parts currently available will be shown for that specific generation. Tools can be found in the "Repair Tools" section.

  • Okay.... I understand to take out the screws and what not but how do you assume that I put all back together.

  • @angelet92 Simply reverse the steps shown in the video.

  • what happens if tjhe plastic wich connects the front screen rips

  • @dan54175 If you are referring to the mid section, you can attempt to re-use, but replacement is recommended. You can find these, among other parts for your iPod Touch at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • Mine wont come apart. I stripped down the two plastic pieces trying to get it apart. I tried putting a razor in there to pry it and the blade broke. WTF

  • @midashaltzern You can try heating the adhesive a bit before using a pry tool to lift it. Use a hair dryer or heat gun and run it along the outside edges quickly and that should solve the issue. Good luck!

  • not first gen

  • @albertanonstoptowing By the look of the back cover, it totally is.

  • My iPod has like these two semi big gray lines crossing each other what can I do about that?

  • @krazygal323 Your LCD screen is damaged. You will need a replacement LCD screen from RepairsUniverse (dot) com to fix this issue.

  • I have an iTouch 2g which was working for 2y .I got it from my pocket and i saw a white screen and i tried to charge it like one other time.I tried MANY times and nothing.I tried ALL combinations like home but.+ sleep but.BUT I am not sure if it is a hardware or software problem because I left my ipod w/o using it for 6months and the battery completely died and when I charged it it worked normally for about 1hour but It did it only 1 time.I am thinking to buy an lcd screen. What do you think?

  • @theopaul713 Yes, it sounds like the LCD screen is damaged and needs replacing.

You can find the LCD screen replacements and other iPod repair parts at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • Does anyone know how I can fix the ribbon on the wifi antenna for the 1st gen. It had snapped and I am desperate to fix.

  • I have also a problem with my ipod touch. The backlight didnt work for about 6 months and then suddenly it works for 15 minutes but now the back is black again. What can I do or is there a chance that my ipod will work again?

  • @radiky Sounds like the backlight on the LCD screen is bad. To repair this you will need a new LCD screen. We provide these replacement iPod Touch LCD screens on the RepairsUniverse (dot) com web site.

  • ok here is my problem, i put my touch on a charging dock and i left it for an hour, i come back and there was this little tiny dot like size of a grain of sand and day after day it got bigger and bigger now its the size of a 10c coin (Australian) money. Its not getting any bigger and the touch screen still works perfect even when i touch that large dot but its really annoying will replacing the LCD fix this or is it something else?

  • @SpEaKeRfReAk123 Hi, yes it sounds like "LCD Bleeding". You will need to replace the LCD screen to fix this issue. We have the iPod Touch LCD Screen replacement parts on the RepairsUniverse (dot) com web site.

  • Can do this with my new ipod touch? I just got it one week ago --'

  • What if it was dropped and the screen cracked. Yet it still worked, but there were little lines appering more and more day after day? And is there a video that runs you through putting it back together?

  • @MrJ0mc Is this the glass the is cracked? If so you should replace the glass touch screen digitizer asap to stop it from getting worse. And also to stop it from damaging the LCD screen.

This replacement part is available on the RepairsUniverse (dot) com web site.

  • so what happened to my girlfreinds itouch is she dropped it and the outside glasss thing cracked. the itouch still works fine its just the screen, so would that fix it? and how much would it cost?..because iwas planing on just buying her a new one :D

  • @arraste1 We have the glass screen digitizer for $29.99 on the repairsuniverse (dot) com web site. You can install yourself or RepairsUniverse installation cost is $34.99.

Much cheaper than a new one :)

  • awsome video great instructions thanks nice to see some people like to help and not just wanting money to help someone out A++++++++++++++

  • are you able to fix my ipod touch 1st gen. It works but the light doesnt i can barely see the screen its dark. i tried seeing if its the settings for the brightness but no. I was told it was do to water damage. but cant it be replaced with a new digitizer?

  • Hi,

You will need a replacement LCD Screen, as this is what does the display including the brightness. The digitizer is the touch screen and has no effect on the brightness etc.

  • Thanks so much!! Worked like a charm!! Saved me a lot of Money!!!

  • Glad we could help!

  • so when this is all reassembled, the touch screen works ok? (if everything is put back in place that is...) I am confident in being careful in doing this on my own, but I don't want to ruin the sensitivity of the touch screen if I replace the LCD screen...

  • Yes, if everything is done correctly and put back together it won't effect the touch screen at all. It will be exactly the same.

  • yeh mate im 14 got it 4 crimbo n dropped it i need sum-1 2 do this 4 meh cuz ill brake it moore would i be able 2 send it to you and you can fix and ill pay u and all
