  • So cute! Good song too. :)

  • they say that birds are more needy when they are sick. maybe she wasn't feeling too well that day and came to you for comfort since you're her flock :)

  • Deeply touching to see this little fellow place such trust in a species many times bigger than he is. What a joy

  • Until I once took care of a baby starling, I never would have realized just how loving and intelligent wild birds in fact are.

  • this is so sweet. <3

  • your such a beautiful person. my starling is learning to love too :)

  • Kasia you may be one of the kindest people I have ever seen. Bless you. Starlings are considered a pest in the US and it is legal to kill them. If anyone in the US wants a pet starling, go and talk to an exterminator; they are often called to remove babies from siding and attics and just kill them.

  • It shows the trust in you when they close their eyes. Such a beautiful bird!

  • Kasia - I'm sorry about Pom Pom. You gave that sweet little birdie a great life! (((Hugs)))

  • @HayleyMch aw no did Pom Pom pass away?:(

  • @katrynstu Yes. :( Kasia posted it on Starling Talk. The world needs more people like Kasia who give love and comfort to the world's little creatures.

  • You are like her guardian angel =]]

  • Where did you get your starlings?

  • aaaaaaaaaa SWEEEEEEET

  • is she allowed to fly outdoor?

  • As a biologist, I wasn't very fond of Sturnis vulgaris because of them invading native species' niches. It's nice to see they have "birdonalities".

  • Was that band Counting Crows by any chance? Good video!!

  • sweet! :D I love starlings, I would like to have one in future..

  • Awwwe....that's precious!

  • We have a starling and when we get him out of the cage all he wants to do is climb onto our chest and fall over on his side like he died...what he wants is for us to put him on his back so he can fall asleep on our chest! The first time it happened I kept standing him back up and he would keep falling over. I thought something was wrong with him- all he wanted was to cuddle.

    Love these birds!!!

  • im 14 and i took care of a different type of starling. one day i saw it laying on the sidewalk in the hot sun moments away from death sitting next to the dead body of his sister and i took him in and fed him wet cat food for 2 or 3 weeks and when he finally learned to fly i released him at it and fell to the ground for a second and a cat bit him in the heart and ran off with him in his mouth and i chased the cat, the cat finally let go and ran off and the baby starling died in my hands

  • @Rhakzor757 That's very sad but you did a good thing by saving him in the first place.

  • omg...thats so cute!!

  • Fascinating that birds have the concept of affection...a really touching and satisfying video!

  • now that this has happened, does she come to you now on a regular basis for these little massages? or was it a one time thing? or just happens to happen once in a while?

  • @avalanchesoul For a long time I thought it was a one time thing, but she recently started to come to me for these little head rubs and leans into my hand. She has wry neck, so her poor little head is always tilted to the side, so it offers some relief when she can prop her little head against my hand and relax.

  • @Kasia5872~ its just the electromagnetic radiation from your laptop thats knocking her out :D

  • do we deserve animal love? ♥ magnifico

  • What a special video! I love the moment where she begins to relax completely and just leans into your hand.

I have just recently discovered Starlings and am loving watching all the YouTube videos. Your family and videos of them is bringing me a lot of joy. I am glad you share them with us!

  • Your birds are amazing. Obviously happy little critters :)

  • Definitely! They are very loved and spoiled, as you can see. LOL

  • Cute. Zoned out completely.

  • How'd You Do It ? Like Have You Pet Them ? My european starling lets me pet her but sometimes she will peck your finger ...... i dont know how to stop this and have her to trust me..... and she pecks your hand when you try and take her out of her cage.....Any Suggestions ??

  • Not all of my 9 starlings allow me to pet them. This was the only one time that Pommy let me do this, and I happened to get it on video. Mine aren't caged and I'm home with them all day long. I let them come to me when they want and I don't force the issue, so they have learned to trust me and they know that I won't do anything that they don't want me to do.

  • @Kasia5872 how did u come about having them as pets??

  • Isn't it amazing how truly wonderful these wild birsds make us feel when they allow us in their hearts...

  • Can "we" come and live w/ you? Shalom, BigFoot, Speckles, Arnold, Laura & Pogo, Pitty, Patty, Lobo & Speedy...oh and Prissy w/ her new babies, and Tess & Daphne & Theirs, and of course Vanessa and her 11 she NOW has left, and of course PigPen and her 3.......etc! ;-)

  • LOVE THIS!...Does she still continue to let you pet her?

  • Yes, she trusts me completely, but ONLY me. She won't let my husband do that to her at all.

  • Aww, now that's just so sweet!

Franciszek, szczerze i pozytywnie zazdroszczę : )

  • I love your vids. I've become fond of birds since I rescued a baby sparrow. A starling would be nice to have, if I found one that couldn't make it in the wild.

  • So sweet ... Pom fell asleep on your hand! My parrots do that too... it is such a darling thing because you know they trust you... How wonderful that Pom finally allowed you to scritch (or pet) her... Birds are very affectionate with one another, and I'm sure Pom was craving that affection but didn't know how to allow it until now (when you recorded this). Thank you for sharing this video... Blessings to both You & Pom~Pom! ... Angel =]

  • That is so sweet. I can tell Pom-Pom sure loves you. She trust you completely.

I have a starling and her name is Cleo and I think she's a little Angel bird dropped down from Heaven by God for me to love. She is such a blessing in my life! She is a such a sweetie. Im very blessed to have her :)

  • I have 4 starlings, my first was Malutka. All 4 of them trust me completely. I have a little Serama hen I named Cleopatra, but call her Cleo for short. Malutka is the one starling that dropped from heaven, the others I got from other people. And I am also a volunteer for the wildlife sanctuary here and have 7 baby starlings, different ages, as of last week. I'm loving every minute of it.

  • Pom-pom is soooo cute =^^=

  • Looks like she's in heaven. :)

  • I have watched a few of your videos, and it's amazing how we forget that animals have feelings too...nice show :)

  • Not only do they have feelings, but they give you unconditional love, which is the purest of all loves in my opinion.

  • Being a starling owner, I can tell you that was awesome. We've had "moments" where Knucklehead can be incredibly sweet and loving, but nothing where he has remained that calm and still for that long. How old is Pom Pom?

  • Pommy turned 2 years old in May 2008. She has a neurological problem that makes her head tilt constantly to the right and she can't sleep with her head tucket into her feathers, so she sleeps with it hanging down. When we first got her, she would fall over and do summersaults. Our vet thinks she did some damage when she fell out of her nest as a baby, and we were sure we were going to lose her before she was a month old, but as you can see, miracles happen at our house.

  • I'm so glad Pom-Pom found you and vice versa. I am sad that Pommy has neurological problems, and I have no idea how much time and care it has taken you to raise such a sweet bird, but I have to say, [Insert jealous rantings]...

  • Very cute and sweet.

  • Awesome Kasia....it looks like Pom Pom is bonding with you...thats exactly what Casper is finally doing with my...trance like calm behavior...bonding!!!!

  • That's so sweet! She was really loving those scritchies!

  • hey, okay. what do u want me to call u? Aunt Kasia, etc. coz I forgot to tell you that I'm just 10 years old. I love Pom-pom. And plus, My grandma said that someday, I'll get to own a duck! i don't know what breed, help me choose!

  • oops! forgot to tell that I have to choose between, Call Ducks, Muscovy Ducks and Rouen ducks only!

  • Sorry I didn't reply sooner. We had to evacuate out of New Orleans for hurricane Gustav. And my hubby and kids went back to New Orleans and I stayed in Mississippi with all of the animals because hurricane Ike looked like it was also headed for New Orleans.

Muscovy ducks are pretty big, Mezoti and Coco-Bean are muscovies. Call ducks and rouen are a lot smaller. I am also getting a handicapped Pekin duck next week. Muscovies are very sweet though. Both of mine sleep on the bed.

  • I think I'll get a muscovy...tnx!!!

  • omg too cute!!

  • aww! wonderful!

  • whats wrong with pom pom

  • Nothing, she was just enjoying it and relaxing. She's never let anyone pet her like that, so this is very special. She does have a problem with her neck though, cannot hold her head straight up, but she had that since birth, and she's fine, just a little lopsided.

  • oh sorry cute starling to
