Im soo sorry for youre lost! I have a very clos bond with mine to. And hes been losing weight too hes putting it back on slowly. But you can tell youres was very took care of and he actually wasnt very skinny

rusty's weight was very up and down, sometimes he was not too bad, but othertimes, if people didnt know me or the way i cared for him, you would of thought i was neglecting him or staving him :( when i got him, he was in very poor condition too :( poor fella i miss him <3

he was pretty skinny, like he had up moments, were he would go up in weight and his coat would be all glossy, then he would go down, and he would be really bad

i had him for 4 years so he had plenty of time, even the vet said there wasn much more we could do short of surgery.

yer he had a bad life b4 me, i got him from dealers, and he was in a yard with 50 other horses with no feed except for crappy hay. and he'd been neglected pretty bad b4 that

but its so sad when there like that. rus was skinny when we got him and he was neglected badly to the point where he windsucked so much that he had barely any teeth left.

we improoved him heaps, take the worst picture of him in here and halve his weight and thats what he was like, i looked at pics of him the other day and i was shocked at how skinny he was

i did all the above except i didn feed him beet pulp, i feed him amounts and types our vet recomended us and it helped a bit but he would put it on then loose it again.

Rusty had issues inside him we think, something that we couldn fix

my aunt had a horse named red and every time it was his b-day she gave him a peice of cake and my aunt passed away so red now belongs to another farm we gave him too and he got his legs cut on a fence so they gave him treatment and that was the last i heard about him R.I.P rusty you look like a good horse poor thing :'(

i loved him to bits, and even tho he wasn the most best behaved horse (he got real bad habbits form previous owners) we trusted each other heaps!

lol i was like omg the situation was too alike, only difference (from what i could tell) was that you rusty was chestnut ana young! lol my rusty was about 20 and bay plus when we got him from the dealers he was skin and bone and had a really bad life.

no he had nothing like that. we were feeding him twice daily with hard feed, plus hay and the grass he had was very good quality.

our vet thinks he had stomach olsers (cant spell it sorry) which prevented him putting on weight.

a few weeks b4 he died he dropped a heap of weight very quickly and no matter what we did he didn put it back on. so we think there was something else happening inside him
