To even start addressing the deficit, the US will have to either print the money or raise interest dramatically. Both options will cause a depression and will certainly make people care about the deficit.

Therefore, raising int. rates and cutting spending is the only sane way to address the deficit. Continuing to add to the deficit (fx health care spending) will only dig the the hole deeper...

As the US spends/borrows more, it becomes clear that it will not be able to repay the loans. Therefore, the lending will stop. As nobody will buy the US bonds, nobody will buy the US dollars they are denominated in. Both will effectively be worthless, and cause far greater suffering than lack of health care.

I know the certificate of live birth works as identification *FIRST HAND* as I used mine (which is identical in form to Obama's, though not the details, obviously) to prove my citizenship in order to get a driver's license.

Hawaii, as a matter of policy, do not release the long forms beyond the initial one. If you order a replacement, that certificate of live birth is what you get and it works in every State. Period.
