The first Galaxy game was amazing. It was 3D, a "360" version of 64, if you will. But this game looks just like 3D Land, and I hate that game. It's basically 2D gameplay put in 3D. It just sucks.

While SMG 1 was all about fun, SMG 2 was all about frustation, for me. I don't know why, but the first game catched my heart at the first seconds and it was fun and challenging until the very last moment. SMG2, otherwise, was not that interesting, fun and some levels were just annoying.

The level design is amazing, but getting through some of them almost made me send the Wii to hell.

I tried Sunshine as a kid and I couldn't do it. We got Yoshi and then something happened and it wouldn't allow me to proceed. I got frustrated and stopped. I sadly never finished and always wished to beat it .

You forgot to mention that once you finish the story line, you can switch between the Mario Bros. whenever you want on the ship. Mario and Luigi in a 3-D platformer where you can switch em' at will.

Super Mario Galaxy is like Yin (the moon) and Super Mario Galaxy 2 is like Yang (the sun) I noticed that Super Mario Galaxy 2 was brighter and meant more for a younger age group that the original because of the simpler map, but i LOVE BOTH GAMES WITH A BURNUNG PASSION!!!!!!!!

I'd have to disagree with you on this. I thought the first had better music. I also disliked how this game almost completely copied the story of the first one. I wanted something at least a little differnt other than bowser taking the power stars again. Also, bowser was too easy and the ending looked rushed. I still like this game ALOT, i just think the first is better.

@Pok3fan1995 I like playing galaxy 2 more than 1, because of the more linear stage designs. In the first you had to go through the same stuff and areas more frequently. but that's just me.

the story in the first was better though I agree. I liked how they fleshed out luma, and how menacing bowser was. He actually felt like a threat. in galaxy 2 he was dumbed down and the ending was dumb..but then again...mario has never been about story, at least not the platform games...

I, personally wouldn't call it "perfect", I would call it amazing! It just didn't seem complete to me, what with only using the boo and spring suits a total of 1 time throughout all 120 stars, it just seemed a little weird to me. And a lot of planets has really cool ideas that only lasted for one level, such as the sandy seas level in slipsand galaxy. Oh well, good review!

(SPOILERS maybe?) Half way through the game you will find Luigi, who came up to help his bro. You will some times get to play as luigi in some levels.! (MAJOR HIDDEN CONTENT) When you beat the game (regaurdless of stars) You will unlock luigi to play on ANY level. Luigi controls faster and jumps higher but he is slippery and will fall off ledges.
