  • ok now can rotate without friction... so...

    1.make a device large enough

    2.disc withe stabilisation

3.diameter of disc largest as possible flatest and flawless as possible with current tech

    4.make it all twice

5.rotate them in opposite directions in vacum chamber with discs as close to each other as possible

now you can experiment with time dilatation effects relativly cheaply and efficently

    ...2 objects (relativity theory)

  • When that thing started havng a seizure, I thought it was going to fly off and hit the camera or something!

  • but will it blend?

  • @simhopp disregard that last reply, I got it now. Oh but also I meant, can you put your phone on it without it messing your phone up, like magnetically?

  • @simhopp can't it hold up to 12 ounces? I looked it up and my iPhone is 4 oz.

  • can you put your phone on it?

  • @poptartfuntop

I don't think there is light enough phone for this model.

However Levitron Revolution should be powerful enough to lift most cellphones though.

  • What just happened at the end?

  • brussup!

  • Extremely fast

  • Awesome. I saw the I think it was the revolution on Vat19. Is this one better? If so where can I buy it? And how much does it cost?

Oh and one more question, how much weight can it hold?

    Thanks!

    -Shawn

  • @Eurostar710

you can buy this on innovatoys web site.

World Stage is weaker version, can only lift 3 ounces.

    Revolution can lift 12 ounces.

    each around $100

  • So if you suddenly unplug the base, the top will fly off through a glass window and knock out your neighbor's daughter on the trampoline.

  • @TheCheatingBastard

nope, the platform magnet is very strong.

the top will just drop really fast to the platform if the power is shut off.

it doesn't make whole lot of difference how fast the top is rotating.

  • is it easy to balance it...like to get it levitating?

  • @arx320skater

World stage model isn' t too difficult to set up.

initaily, it will take 5 minute for most people to set up for the first time.

after that, time to set up the disc to float will decrease, untill you can do it in few seconds.

for Revolution model, it is much more difficult.

I was pretty good with world stage, before I bought the revolution, but it took

30 minutes before I could get it to float.

almost returned the item, as I thought the device must be defective.

  • help!! i don't know of this is good or bad but i have bought recently a levitron. At first i plugged in the platform and put my globe to position (succesfully rotating). After 1 or 2 minutes i turned off the power (the lights were turned off) and the globe still rotates for half an hour now!! does levitron really needs ac power?? is that harmful for the magnets?? any opinions???

  • whats that thing that you use to make it spin really fast

  • @letsrockroll

    compressed air syringe.

  • This is the Levitron world stage not the Levitron Revolution, right?

How much weight can it hold 12 oz or 4 oz.

Thanks so much for your information

  • How long is it keep spinning

  • @mailtopravit

it slows down to "normal" spining rate in about 2-3 minutes.

  • @simhopp If it's spinning at "normal" spinning rate would it spin for days?

Thanks, I'm thinking of getting one now it's very cheap

  • @mailtopravit

yes, it will spin perpetually, as long as the power is plugged in.

and it will spin in either direction. clockwise or counter clockwise.

  • So how long wiill it spin like an hour?

  • @s28400 no, as you can see in the video, if the disk spins too fast, it become unstable and drop.

if you spin it just below that speed, the disk will eventually slow down to slow rotating spin of about 1 rev per 3 sec or so. where it will stay perpetually.

it is unclear to me, however, whether the disk slows down because of the air resistance only, or because of the magnetic field from the base is somehow responsible for slowing down the disk.

  • @simhopp also is there a way to open up the base? like screw holes or something?

  • @simhopp I suspect it slows down since the magnetic field of the device is rotating at a fixed rate. The older Levitron AG (which I have) has no built-in rotation, and the globe it comes with will slow down and stop at a preferred orientation fairly quickly even if you spin it up.

  • ok supler glue a saw blade to the top then get it spining, a toll for when u ahte ppl

  • Does the magnet fall down like in the cheaper versions of the Levitrons or are The "World stage" and "Revolution" models more expensive because the magnet doesnt fall down?

  • @UpjohnWorthington

these revolution models are plugged into 110v outlet.

the magnet will float on the base continuously, as long as the power cord

    is plugged in.

and unlike the cheaper non-powered levitron, the magnet doesn't have to

rotate at all, in order to float.

  • can u moove small magnit from there ??? i want see it

  • @DjPinkoGreen

your request is unclear to me.

do you want me to place a small magnet near the blue disk?

  • pretty awesome :o

  • way cool

  • just a good idea i think is that we can make this illuminated led base to look like ''infinity mirror'' like those we have see already. only nedded is a reflective window tint (film) ;) will be a nice effect. see the:''Make A INFINITY MIRROR'' video.
