When i first tried to play mass effect i thought it was boring so i tossed it aside. A few years later with all the hype of mass effect 3 coming out i thought i'd give it another shot. First 2-3 hrs nothing special, 5-6 hrs in kinda getting interesting, 10 hrs in this game is amazing! Once you learn the battle system its really good, its one of those games you cant put down untill you finish it and also I love this battle music in the game.
I've been gaming since the Atari and Coleco Vision days. Rarely has a game brought me to a point where I was simply overwhelmed with awesomeness. Music starts and Saren speaks,"...but you would undo my work..." right into the fight. Oh my God man. Simply one of the greatest moments in video game history. At least for me.
I remember hearing this song after sending Ashley off with Kirrahe's team. I kept thinking "No no no no no! I just sent her to her death didn't I?" But thankfully that wasn't the case and I was able to sacrifice Kaidan instead.
@Jayplex Me neither, really. At first, of course. I kept saving Ash for some reason, then I figured out I could have Tali in ME2, so I had to abandon all love in ME1 and save mah bro Kaidan just so I had a profile ready when the time came.
@chiffmonkey I have to agree (though, gameplay soundtrack during Suicide Mission was great), but I meant something different. In ME2 there were moments, where you could hear a theme from ME, and it really makes me feel like actually playing a continuation of story. Just imagine, this theme playing during Tali's recruitment mission...
@ShiroiLuke actually i thought the missing song know as "Suicide mission infiltration: fight version" compares to this in the sense it gets the blood pumping. Just my thoughts, not that you asked xD
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as Mass Effect. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
I _wondered_ why this one wasn't in the OST I bought from Amazon...! Weird--why would they not want to include the track from one of the most emotional scenes in the entire game?! O_O :-/ :-(
what gambitfox said. wtf is this not doing in the ost, it's one of the only music themes I can remember of the top of my head and the most immersive and defining moments of why I love Mass Effect.
I really want me3 to have a soundtrack more like this. Or at least have the music be everywhere, like in the first one. The citadel was so much cooler when it had an awesome theme playing all the time.
I made the mistake of watching walkthroughs before I played ME1, alas I ruined a genuine play through with making real decisions. I didnt make that mistake for ME2, and I certainly wont be doing it for ME3 either.
virmire is epic and badass on so many levels, from the confrontation with wrex, to being forced to choose who lives and who dies, to confronting saren himself, all of that is trumped by the encounter we have with sovereign. I remember the first time I ever played ME 1 I was completely blown away by virmire.
Oh and why would I waste my time making my 1st video debating with a ME1 fanboy when I have different plans: Reviews, Retrospectives, Machinimas, etc.? If I were to make a debate video it would be over why the Soldier class sucks in BOTH games with my friend who actually likes it for the exact reasons I hate it. Of course it's a working progress.
P.S. Take out the dialogue trees of ME1. What do you get? Honestly pal come on.
I understand. The way you said it just came off as extremely cocky. Either way I respect that you don't like ME2. That's fine. When you come on here stating opinions like they're facts, that's not. I personally love both OSTs. Granted ME2 had songs that honestly fit better in a firefight IMO. I like it but I can still go back and play the original from time to time. IMO they're both great games. You're really going off calling me out on what music I like? This is just trolling now.
You're not too bad yourself. I will admit though that in ME2, I wanted to take on a Reaper damn it! I guess a larva will do for now. But really that's my only gripe and planet scanning which is where music on standby comes in handy haha.
Oh and one other thing you don't have to comment on like three different ost videos. It's not really necessary. It kinda comes off as you're trying to start an anti-ME2 movement . I respect your opinion but you only have to say it once. Do yoyu understand what I mean?
You know ME2 is a shooter is to say ME1 is a shooter. Here are the ONLY differences in the combat:
1. Ammo (Oh NO!)- Why do people bitch about this? We're not on the NES anymore. Learn how to aim. This alone threw the fanbase into a bitchfest. This is why RPG fans aren't respected.
2. Menu- I don't care if that's a natural RPG feature. It still blows.
3. Powers- Certain Powers have more simplified functions Warp can actually do damage now and AI Hacking can't fucking bite you in the ass.
@l33tstuff1 Yet another comment so easy to rip apart with logic . The combat of me2 isn't the problem your whole message addresses the wrong thing it's the Level up system , the inventory system , the ammo because it distinguished the game from others and made sense with the context of why it was used over regular ammunition. Ever read the codex , the ammo in me1 with the codex discription of it made the universe so more beleiveable . It's little things like that me2 lacked
Your logic is shit! You make AKnotholeResident look like a genius. No Ammo was fucking game breaking! I don't care what the explanation is. It makes the first game too easy if I can just snipe people for an entire playthrough. I read the codex. It's Bullshit! That and the comment about the Power Wheel, how do you think ME2 fans feel when they're placed in the category of Fags of War fans? An old quote applies here: A rose is a rose no matter what you choose to call it.
@l33tstuff1 Again these mountains of text wont get us anywhere . if you have a mic or a camera we can just make videos over this .Or live chat on skype and record it. It will be my treat to finally versus an me2 fanboy debate why i hate the game and it's the biggest dissapointment for me this generation .
@Re used codex entries , less side missions , shitty level up system , abandoning the plot of the first overly prolonging the wait for the reapers , ammo , inventory system , no exploration or mako replacement , shitty mineral scanning 1000x worse than anything the mako had you do , less jaw dropping moments and fewer songs as well as less quality songs .
The feel changed so much. less scifi techno music and feel more generic cover shooter. I didn't feel in the game the way i did with ME1
used codex entries, inventory, ammo: Who cares?!Hammerhead? The Mako's controls and accuracy were shit. Planet Scanning is boring but I can take that over the Tumbler. Idk my jaw dropped when Collectors were Protheans, the Human Reaper, Seeker Swarms, Migrant Fleet's appearance, Legion, etc. Side mssions had something foreign to ME1 fnaboys... Variety! I would rather have 50 different side missions in different unique locations than 100 in the same 6 rooms! Music that's just taste.
@l33tstuff1 Your so easy dude everything you say i can debate your logic fails Music that set the mood , moments like speaking to sovereign where you shit your pants , thinking the game is about saren then having the reapers thrown in and having the plot change and the ammount of well thought things in the game made it such a beleivable , universe it felt so real and your dragged in to it . Do you want to skye me over this text wont get us to far
Calling me close minded? Have you read your past few comments? How does spending time in a pause menu fun? I pause my game when I have to take a shit or eat. Calling me easy? Tell me in the beginning of all this, who choose to respond to response in the 1st place? Your fucked up logic is what got us into this debate. And btw as I stated, I don't a shit what lazy excuse they came up with. It's still game breaking!
@jtgtjtgt So what if It was not a Complete Hardcore Rpg? Mass effect 2 was still a Good game no matter what Genre it is. And Mass effect 2 had alot of Side quests.
@l33tstuff1 In me2 there was what 5 - 10 side quests . That took maybe 1-2 hours of gameplay to beat wow in me1 the side quests made up over 20 hours of gameplay there were different ones based on your sex , choices in the game etc . Music in me1 being better is more than taste it's easy to say that because theres more music and me2 only had suicide mission thats the only good song in the game . Why are you on a me1 video if the music is bad , see my point .
ME2 is NOTHING like Gears of War. Ok maybe the third person view but come on Gears of War is not the only TPS on the market. Oh and the ammo system. Good god why do people bitch about this? So it's better to be a pusse who camps on top of a ledge with a Sniper Rifle that has unlimited ammo for an entire game. The Ammo system does one thing that some might not understand: It encourages you to use other guns. The Ammo system is the most illegitimate complaint in the history of gaming.
@l33tstuff1 The COMBAT of me2 is exactly like gears of war , shoot , take cover , repeat . Play gears of war then mass effect 2 IDENTICAL combat same system
@jtgtjtgt that is a GOOD thing. Gears of war is a highly acclaimed third person shooter, so if mass effect 2 has really good combat with an awesome story and rpg elements, that is great. I understand what you are trying to say, but saying a game is bad by comparing it to a good game is not the strongest argument.
@Wii60info Heres the thing i said it was dumbed down and appealed to a new audience alot of old fans were dissapointed look at youtuber dsp alot of people say the first was better. . ME 2 It's a shooter NOT an rpg . With light rpg elements that are almost not even there if it wasn't for the speech options it would be a shooter . To remedy this simply make the third be about story , and have the rpg elements from the first aswell as the exploration . Guess what . bioware is going to do that
Neither is ME1 if you're going by that logic you retard. All Bioware did was create an ammo system and they got the stupid ass inventory. There is NO reason to call the 1st an RPG as it is so similar to the 2nd minus what I mentioned. You're probably someone who plays Me1 spamming the fuck out of the powerwheel and then you go off and hide in a corner until the powers recharge because you can't aim. ME1 is great and all but really the Power Wheel is the biggest crutch in it.
@l33tstuff1 Dude me1 is a WESTERN RPG . Alright me2 has very few rpg elements so to call it a rpg of any kind would be a disservice to actual ones . Bioware dumbed the game down , oversimplified , and removed elements that they realise today shouldn't have been removed . Thats why they will return in me3 . And making half assed assumptions like i only use the power wheel man that made your whole comment look foolish , The power wheel had auto assign like me2's did
How? A stupid ass inventory and no ammo make a game more of an RPG. Wow. You have to be best friends with the people who did the Sonic 4 protest. If a game has guns: There is going to be ammo. Even in Halo, Plasma weaponry runs out of energy. ME2 is an RPG. It just doesn't have inventory you elitist. God forbid a game values pace over spending time in the pause menu every thirty minutes.
@l33tstuff1 You don't get what im saying it's pretty apparent you don't me2 isn't an rpg take away the dialouge and it's your typical 3rd person shooter. It's a shooter with speech options that simple. Iv'e thouroughly explained why it's not an rpg but to keep saying why again is nerve racking if i wasn't so lazy i'd make a good 20 minute video explaining why i hate me2 and people would leave me along because they'd agree with most what i say or atleast understand why
@l33tstuff1 Spending time in the pause menu is a trait of rpg's Fallout 3 , Oblivion , ANY rpg has that it's what makes them fun . Pace isn't left behind in the process . Saying because in every game theres ammo there should be some here is closed minded and ignorent there was a reason there wasn't ammo and and there was a reason for everything in mass effect the universe was sculpted so well and the game was so believable. The plot was amazing the villains were amazing everything was
@Wii60info Bioware will combine the two games in the third it was in an ign interview where they hinted at bringing back the mako gameplay but less repeatitive and with the firehawk aswell as an improved inventory system since they took flak for taking it out . In my eyes me2 is the biggest disappointed because it had so much to live up to and instead does a more mainstream casual type of gameplay .
Iv'e played worse games than me2 but they didn't have strong preprocessors to live up to
@jtgtjtgt I know what you mean and honestly prefer the first as well. But many people complained about the shooter controls so that was something they needed to fix. My biggest problem with ME2 is that there is no way to make the squad have improved armor. Tali with colossus armor in ME1 was so awesome looking (not to mention a walking tank). Bioware did say they wanted to add richer RPG elements to third, and im hoping they can deliver.
I love both, I've just finished ME1 again and plan to move right into ME2... again. I do agree that they are different, but I feel that neither are worse for it. I want Mass Effect 3 so badly I feel the need to create a time machine and go get it from the future. Don't worry though, I won't ruin it for the rest of you :-P
Is it me or does mass effect 2 feel like a completely different game to ME1 hell to me it felt like a completely different universe :P. It was SOOO much darker and grittier and more blade runner'ish than the first it felt sooooo diferent, not that's a bad thing ofc. Just wondering if its just me. For example Omega really made me realise they were doing something different with mass effect and to me i found it better i dunu felt more realistic :S
@elfmann243 It does feel different . It felt more streamlined , dumbed down , and more like a traditional video game . Mass Effect 2 was gears of war with speech options . MAss Effect 1 was an escape from reality into a living breathing world with uncharted worlds and this universe that is so unknown . Mass Effect 2 feels so different i hate calling it a sequel
@jtgtjtgt Haha the world wasn't unknown, it was just a mix of Descent Freespace, Star Wars, and Halo. I dunno how you can call ME 2 dumbed down exactly, unless you mean the missions that are corridors filled with waist-high cover, but personally I'd take this over the corridors, identical prefab buildings (two-tiered base, capsule-shaped cargo building, mine), and randomly generated Motocross Madness planets of the first one. I think I'd prefer "dumbed down" gameplay rather than dumb gameplay.
@themasteriswatching Me2 is dumbed down gameplay wise , content wise , the whole game is oversimplified and the iceing on the cake is the shit filler sidequest story alot of of questions were left unanswered to be honest me2 didn't further the plot ANY the books and me1 told everything the game told so you can play mass effect jump to mass effect 3 and what did you miss lol. Me3 picks up where me1 left off in terms of story we are back at the reapers invasion
@jtgtjtgt Mass Effect 2 is pure awesome. Skipping it would be a terrible idea for anyone. Personally, I might like ME1 better, but both games are incredible.
I love the part where you get finished talking to Sovereign and this tune kicks in. "That sip, Sovereign, just turned a pull that would sheer any of our ships in half. It's coming your way and it's coming hard."
Every once in a while, there's a rare magic moment in game when soundtrack, game play, and story align in sync and make for a moment of unforgettable immersion. Running through gunfire on Virmire to this track was one of those rare moments for me.
@GambitFox79 And it is amazing how people of different ages, genders, and cultures in the world can share the same kind of experience with this masterpiece. BioWare is adept at capturing humanity's essence.
@GambitFox79 That is the ultimate beauty I search for in any game or throughout life in general. It's one of the greatest moments a person can experience in my opinion.
Virmire was awesome, Mako Pwnage made this so sweet. Makes me want to replay ME1, but once you play ME2 playing ME1 is so difficult knowing how much better it is lol....not that ME1 wasn't good but ME2 is just...........the best
@LWStupidus Not really once that new game novelty wares off and you compare them side by side mass effect 1 is better . Longer , better story , better music , more music , better sidequest and 10x more of them , better atmosphere universe and everything else .
@jtgtjtgt Despite the fact that in ME 1 you can't sprint unless using grenades in non-combat areas, all the missions involving scouring featureless terrain for hours for some cocoa puffs, unskippable movies, and the running back and forth in the early story mission hubs (when these elements are "skipped" using strategy guides and console commands the game is under 20 hours long), ME 2 is usually reported to be 6 or more hours longer - for me, almost 12 hours.
Yeah better sidequests in the sense that they use the same six damn rooms w/ the exact same destination for all one hundred of them. The sidequests were boring as crap in ME1. In ME2 they used something called (gasp) variety. That and the uncharted worlds themselves sucked. The Mako can burn in hell. That is the one thing I hate about going back to ME1. Oh ME2 was WAY longer. ME1 had maybe seven actual missions and ME2 had over a dozen missions (sidequests don't count).
@l33tstuff1 Im tired of getting replys to points iv'e already either refuted or dismissed im done with this video it's annoying as hell getting all these messages . I LIKE MASS EFFECT 1 INFINATELY MORE THAN 2. I hate what 2 did to the series . I used facts to back up my extreme opinion and dislike for me2 . Thats it . I prefer a story heavy introduction to an immerse , diverse universe then a filler shooter with rpg elements stalling the story. Last message from me
You know there is a simple solution to your problem: REMOVE YOUR COMMENTS. It will be impossible for you to get replies. Oh and let me name many differences between ME2 and GOW: Power Wheel, No blind firing, No retarded jamming system, customizable armor, free roaming, Enemies have special protection, and weapon upgrades. Oh and what you're describing isn't just Gears of War: It's EVERY TPS. That's like saying Fallout 3 rips off Halo because it has FPS elements. It's retarded.
@l33tstuff1 Whatever dude and free roaming lol no they're crafted large hub worlds and gears of war with dialouge suits me2 because it's a shooter with light and i mean almost non existent rpg elements . A simple plot thats average and weapon upgrades are a very small part of the game. Obviously theres differences between the two but it's very similar
I love this game the best mass effect yet.

I made the mistake of watching walkthroughs before I played ME1, alas I ruined a genuine play through with making real decisions. I didnt make that mistake for ME2, and I certainly wont be doing it for ME3 either.

First time I heard this song while easily mowing down Geth on Virmire, I thought, "this mission can't end well".
Kuhlfurst 8 months ago
how possibly can someone dislike this song....i bet those 3 ppl dont have a soul or are sovereigns puppets!
chinisol 9 months ago
virmire is epic and badass on so many levels, from the confrontation with wrex, to being forced to choose who lives and who dies, to confronting saren himself, all of that is trumped by the encounter we have with sovereign. I remember the first time I ever played ME 1 I was completely blown away by virmire.

i really loved this track, it fit in so well with the situation of shooting geth, raiding a base while walking into a death trap.
although hearing it loop 20-25 times during the invasion can weigh down on you, since the battle is not exactly short.

I wish they would've kept the synthetic music in ME2, although I still love the orchestra

Honestly pal come on.
l33tstuff1 11 months ago
@l33tstuff1 You get stripped down western rpg with alot of cutscenes good level up system , an inventory system etc . It would still be an rpg lol
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago
@l33tstuff1 Alright dude no reason to debate it was just an idea .
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago
@jtgtjtgt
This is just trolling now.
l33tstuff1 11 months ago
@l33tstuff1 I can respect that you like me2 aswell your a cool dude .
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago
@jtgtjtgt
You're not too bad yourself. I will admit though that in ME2, I wanted to take on a Reaper damn it! I guess a larva will do for now. But really that's my only gripe and planet scanning which is where music on standby comes in handy haha.
l33tstuff1 11 months ago
@jtgtjtgt
Oh and one other thing you don't have to comment on like three different ost videos. It's not really necessary. It kinda comes off as you're trying to start an anti-ME2 movement . I respect your opinion but you only have to say it once. Do yoyu understand what I mean?
l33tstuff1 10 months ago
@l33tstuff1 Kinda was i feel extremely strong about this which is why i wanted to make a good long video about it
jtgtjtgt 10 months ago
You know ME2 is a shooter is to say ME1 is a shooter. Here are the ONLY differences in the combat:
1. Ammo (Oh NO!)- Why do people bitch about this? We're not on the NES anymore. Learn how to aim. This alone threw the fanbase into a bitchfest. This is why RPG fans aren't respected.
2. Menu- I don't care if that's a natural RPG feature. It still blows.
3. Powers- Certain Powers have more simplified functions Warp can actually do damage now and AI Hacking can't fucking bite you in the ass.
l33tstuff1 11 months ago
@l33tstuff1 Yet another comment so easy to rip apart with logic . The combat of me2 isn't the problem your whole message addresses the wrong thing it's the Level up system , the inventory system , the ammo because it distinguished the game from others and made sense with the context of why it was used over regular ammunition. Ever read the codex , the ammo in me1 with the codex discription of it made the universe so more beleiveable . It's little things like that me2 lacked
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago
@jtgtjtgt
An old quote applies here: A rose is a rose no matter what you choose to call it.
l33tstuff1 11 months ago
@l33tstuff1 Again these mountains of text wont get us anywhere . if you have a mic or a camera we can just make videos over this .Or live chat on skype and record it. It will be my treat to finally versus an me2 fanboy debate why i hate the game and it's the biggest dissapointment for me this generation .
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago
@Re used codex entries , less side missions , shitty level up system , abandoning the plot of the first overly prolonging the wait for the reapers , ammo , inventory system , no exploration or mako replacement , shitty mineral scanning 1000x worse than anything the mako had you do , less jaw dropping moments and fewer songs as well as less quality songs .
The feel changed so much. less scifi techno music and feel more generic cover shooter. I didn't feel in the game the way i did with ME1
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago
@jtgtjtgt
used codex entries, inventory, ammo: Who cares?!Hammerhead? The Mako's controls and accuracy were shit. Planet Scanning is boring but I can take that over the Tumbler. Idk my jaw dropped when Collectors were Protheans, the Human Reaper, Seeker Swarms, Migrant Fleet's appearance, Legion, etc. Side mssions had something foreign to ME1 fnaboys... Variety! I would rather have 50 different side missions in different unique locations than 100 in the same 6 rooms! Music that's just taste.
l33tstuff1 11 months ago
@l33tstuff1 Your so easy dude everything you say i can debate your logic fails Music that set the mood , moments like speaking to sovereign where you shit your pants , thinking the game is about saren then having the reapers thrown in and having the plot change and the ammount of well thought things in the game made it such a beleivable , universe it felt so real and your dragged in to it . Do you want to skye me over this text wont get us to far
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago
@jtgtjtgt
It's still game breaking!
l33tstuff1 11 months ago
@jtgtjtgt So what if It was not a Complete Hardcore Rpg? Mass effect 2 was still a Good game no matter what Genre it is. And Mass effect 2 had alot of Side quests.
delta2ish 6 months ago

The Ammo system is the most illegitimate complaint in the history of gaming.
l33tstuff1 1 year ago
@l33tstuff1 The COMBAT of me2 is exactly like gears of war , shoot , take cover , repeat . Play gears of war then mass effect 2 IDENTICAL combat same system
jtgtjtgt 1 year ago
@jtgtjtgt that is a GOOD thing. Gears of war is a highly acclaimed third person shooter, so if mass effect 2 has really good combat with an awesome story and rpg elements, that is great. I understand what you are trying to say, but saying a game is bad by comparing it to a good game is not the strongest argument.
Wii60info 11 months ago
@Wii60info Heres the thing i said it was dumbed down and appealed to a new audience alot of old fans were dissapointed look at youtuber dsp alot of people say the first was better. . ME 2 It's a shooter NOT an rpg . With light rpg elements that are almost not even there if it wasn't for the speech options it would be a shooter . To remedy this simply make the third be about story , and have the rpg elements from the first aswell as the exploration . Guess what . bioware is going to do that
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago
@jtgtjtgt
ME1 is great and all but really the Power Wheel is the biggest crutch in it.
l33tstuff1 11 months ago
@l33tstuff1 Dude me1 is a WESTERN RPG . Alright me2 has very few rpg elements so to call it a rpg of any kind would be a disservice to actual ones . Bioware dumbed the game down , oversimplified , and removed elements that they realise today shouldn't have been removed . Thats why they will return in me3 . And making half assed assumptions like i only use the power wheel man that made your whole comment look foolish , The power wheel had auto assign like me2's did
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago
@jtgtjtgt
God forbid a game values pace over spending time in the pause menu every thirty minutes.
l33tstuff1 11 months ago
@l33tstuff1 You don't get what im saying it's pretty apparent you don't me2 isn't an rpg take away the dialouge and it's your typical 3rd person shooter. It's a shooter with speech options that simple. Iv'e thouroughly explained why it's not an rpg but to keep saying why again is nerve racking if i wasn't so lazy i'd make a good 20 minute video explaining why i hate me2 and people would leave me along because they'd agree with most what i say or atleast understand why
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago
@l33tstuff1 Spending time in the pause menu is a trait of rpg's Fallout 3 , Oblivion , ANY rpg has that it's what makes them fun . Pace isn't left behind in the process . Saying because in every game theres ammo there should be some here is closed minded and ignorent there was a reason there wasn't ammo and and there was a reason for everything in mass effect the universe was sculpted so well and the game was so believable. The plot was amazing the villains were amazing everything was
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago
@Wii60info Bioware will combine the two games in the third it was in an ign interview where they hinted at bringing back the mako gameplay but less repeatitive and with the firehawk aswell as an improved inventory system since they took flak for taking it out . In my eyes me2 is the biggest disappointed because it had so much to live up to and instead does a more mainstream casual type of gameplay .
Iv'e played worse games than me2 but they didn't have strong preprocessors to live up to
jtgtjtgt 11 months ago

Don't worry though, I won't ruin it for the rest of you :-P
hunterg24 1 year ago
Is it me or does mass effect 2 feel like a completely different game to ME1 hell to me it felt like a completely different universe :P. It was SOOO much darker and grittier and more blade runner'ish than the first it felt sooooo diferent, not that's a bad thing ofc. Just wondering if its just me. For example Omega really made me realise they were doing something different with mass effect and to me i found it better i dunu felt more realistic :S
elfmann243 1 year ago
@elfmann243 It does feel different . It felt more streamlined , dumbed down , and more like a traditional video game . Mass Effect 2 was gears of war with speech options . MAss Effect 1 was an escape from reality into a living breathing world with uncharted worlds and this universe that is so unknown . Mass Effect 2 feels so different i hate calling it a sequel
jtgtjtgt 1 year ago
@jtgtjtgt Haha the world wasn't unknown, it was just a mix of Descent Freespace, Star Wars, and Halo. I dunno how you can call ME 2 dumbed down exactly, unless you mean the missions that are corridors filled with waist-high cover, but personally I'd take this over the corridors, identical prefab buildings (two-tiered base, capsule-shaped cargo building, mine), and randomly generated Motocross Madness planets of the first one. I think I'd prefer "dumbed down" gameplay rather than dumb gameplay.
themasteriswatching 1 year ago
@themasteriswatching Me2 is dumbed down gameplay wise , content wise , the whole game is oversimplified and the iceing on the cake is the shit filler sidequest story alot of of questions were left unanswered to be honest me2 didn't further the plot ANY the books and me1 told everything the game told so you can play mass effect jump to mass effect 3 and what did you miss lol. Me3 picks up where me1 left off in terms of story we are back at the reapers invasion
jtgtjtgt 1 year ago
@jtgtjtgt Mass Effect 2 is pure awesome. Skipping it would be a terrible idea for anyone. Personally, I might like ME1 better, but both games are incredible.

LWStupidus 1 year ago
@LWStupidus Not really once that new game novelty wares off and you compare them side by side mass effect 1 is better . Longer , better story , better music , more music , better sidequest and 10x more of them , better atmosphere universe and everything else .
jtgtjtgt 1 year ago
@jtgtjtgt I enjoy ME2's combat system a lot more than ME2s, and the missions, DLC, voices, but I do miss the old Presidium. We'll have to disagree.
LWStupidus 1 year ago
@jtgtjtgt Despite the fact that in ME 1 you can't sprint unless using grenades in non-combat areas, all the missions involving scouring featureless terrain for hours for some cocoa puffs, unskippable movies, and the running back and forth in the early story mission hubs (when these elements are "skipped" using strategy guides and console commands the game is under 20 hours long), ME 2 is usually reported to be 6 or more hours longer - for me, almost 12 hours.
themasteriswatching 1 year ago
@themasteriswatching Those are SIDEQUESTS not all the missions are scouring planets.
jtgtjtgt 1 year ago
@jtgtjtgt

Last message from me
jtgtjtgt 1 year ago
@jtgtjtgt
It's retarded.
l33tstuff1 1 year ago
@l33tstuff1 Whatever dude and free roaming lol no they're crafted large hub worlds and gears of war with dialouge suits me2 because it's a shooter with light and i mean almost non existent rpg elements .
