@bub1360 As I have replied above, It wasn't built to be nice, it was a $1 car, The wood we got for free. It does the Job. We don't even have the car any more so there wasn't even any reason to build a really nice box for it. We kept the subs and everything though, I do use MDF on the other boxes. this wood is FREE.
@genexxa357 pm me i'll even give you my number! look DUDE mdf is much smoother and will let air move more freely in the box = more output cleaner sounding bass with out wind noise. realy? gunna take it back to the old ages? i wonder why thoughs old record players had so much distortion? idk i gusse i am just some dumb HILL BILLY that cant understand that a ruffer surface means more output? ohh well have a nice night!
@bub1360 You two just take it easy. I use MDF on the boxes I care enough to spend the money on. It is much nicer to work with, but beings this was a 95 Ford wagon we didn't care too much about spending money on it. The box has been destroyed. It no longer exists, it served its purpose, and the subs survived the less quality wood.

Just your statement that are mindblowing wrong from tip to toe.
You just dont get a "magical better" box using MDF instead of this. If he used thick enough wood, that dont vibrate, that is as good as MDF boxes.
The best material for boxes is plywood. You can use thiner sheets, and it is stiff as hell. Wonder why most recordholders uses plywood.
People use MDF instead of plywood, is because MDF is easier to work with. And in some cases cheaper.
