Doug is hands down the best guitarist Dio has had since Vivian. I've played for over 20 years, I'm not saying i'm an expert, but i've listened to a lot of great guitarist and in my opinion Doug is one of the best i have ever heard. Super tone, great feel and just an all around nice guy. This guy can play anything and sound great. Perfect in my book.

Good Christ Doug! I got to meet Doug last year backstage with a friend who works with him. The most humble, nicest dude ever. He was super respectful. I mentioned how great he was in that Holy Diver live DVD from 2006; how great his take was on Vivian's stuff. He had nothing but great admiration for Vivian. The dude is all class. His solo work on High Centered and Electrovision from 96 and 97 is just insane.

Anyone who doubts Doug Aldrich as the best hard rock/ metal guitar player out thier. Go see a new Whitesnake show. This guy will be a legend one day if not already. I have been playing 26 years and have seen or met everyone out thier and Doug is not only a great guitarist but a great guy as well. He is one class act. His playing is so articulate and clean.

It's sort of something you get used to. I feel like my bending (though not great) is stronger with this method than using the thumb.

A few years ago, I made a conscious effort to switch to this style of bending because it looks cool when Doug does it. Also because another of my favorites, Frank Aresti formerly of Fates Warning did it this way as well.
