  • finaplex is the best shit to take

  • of course he has muscles, but i can just see fat...

  • @Blackrier93 no shit? every1 has fat, ryan kenelly is acutally pretty brute, hes solid, look him up. powerliftesr need excess calories for more energy to ensure maximum gains

  • OMG

  • WHY does he have the same last name as me???? Is he my long lost bro?!?! :D

  • @HippyJunkAS u wish homo

  • simply staggering, that is a sick amount of weight! thats over half a ton!! most people would struggle to squat that never mind bench!

  • @jst2384 Most people? Who can squat that much?

  • @007nites maybe 5 people in the world, using a multi-ply shirt lol

  • why has Ryan gone into mma? i just dont get it! mma requires far too much cardio! its going to make his gym lifts esp his bench press go down hill! i wish he would re consider....mma is far easier than powerlifting/strongman. if he stuck at being a bench specialist he would surely break Scot Medelsons 715 raw world record bench press

  • @TheCloverfieldchris u know cardio doesnt burn muscle right?

  • com on ppl we live in 2010 steroids should be legal now lol

  • Regardless of the shit people give the multiply guys in competition, this was a PERFECTLY executed 1-board press with a record amount of weight. The pressing distance is only 1 1/2 inches shorter and he did a more than competition legal pause here. Most multiply feds only make them pause 1/2 second or sometimes, no pause at all. This was just a stunning display of power with nice form as well.

  • are u suppose to rest the whole weight on the board for a pause...1sec...or just touch and bring up

  • @nomitata you bring the bar down, almost as if you're pulling it through the board just a bit, then press. This is how you do it with sub-half-ton weights, anyways LOL

  • hoiw much he weighs in this video ?

  • No matter what, you just have to respect this INSANE strength. I am usually against any supplements and equipment. But this guy has got to be the exception... Even if I took all that shit he takes and used all the equipment he uses, I'd never get ANYWHERE near this ELEPHANT-LIKE performance. Respect, respect, respect! And of course all those things he does that I disagree with can NEVER take away one thing from him - THE SUPERHUMAN EFFORT! He's totally unique...

  • How is Ryan Kennelly doing nowadays? I have huge respect for the weights he handles. If I even just tried to hold 1000+ pounds I would just snap, shirt or no shirt.

  • This is the Michael Jordan of the sport of benching. Nothing less. Yeah, there are uneducated comments. This is the internet. Bottom line is that many others have access to the same equipment and Ryan is the only one capable of this kind of weight. The negative comments are funny in a pathetic way though...

  • You know the spotters are there telling them selfs "PLEASE GET THIS!"..LOL but over all what a animal..WOW!!!

  • wait did he hurt himself? I heard him say fuck

  • i was wondering the same thing.. does any1 know?

  • @gatraw He's pissed of cause he's Never locked out any attempts he has over 1074 pounds :p

  • impressive. scary moment at the end there when they had trouble racking the weight

  • legend

  • LOL I would shit my pants if I had to hold that board.

  • Looks like the side spotter got some trouble puting that whole shit heavy load of weight back to the rack, otherwise would smash Kennelly.

  • Don't leave stupid comments if you know NOTHING about lifting or what steroids really do. Like lavampire said, if you don't have the right genetics you won't get very strong on the juice. Kennelly could out-bench most people on juice even if he was natural.

  • That is so very, very true. Not to mention, he's very knowledgeable. I'm the same height as Kennelly is and I am maxing exactly what he did when he was my age at the same bodyweight. But I will never know what it's like to have 1000 pounds or more in my hands. Even with roids, which I will eventually use.

  • so how much do you think he would be able to press if he were not on his chemicals? Then we have ragin open back shirts to get thousand pound lifts since the crank doesn't do it any more.

    What rubbish.

  • more than you

  • lol HOLY FUCK! true

  • im all for raw lifting and much more impressed with raw. BUT.......this is just nuts and in my opinion is just as impressive as any big raw lift. 1120?! wtf-for real.....

  • It's nice to see comments like these every once and a while. I am a RAW powerlifter as well, but I love watching these huge 1000+ pound lifts.

  • cbass5511 -- you are full of shit!!!!! Everyone blames it on roids -- what Dianabol, DecaDurabolin, Primabolin, Sostenon 250, Anadrol 50, Oxandrolone, Testosteron Cypionate -- which one? All you turds out there that think that roids do it all are totally wrong! It's called genetics -- DNA. If you don't have it, then I don't care how many roids you shoot up or shove down your throat. You are not going to get super strong with the stuff. I f you don't have it to begin with, you don't have it

  • Comment removed

  • no he defiantly had a bench shirt on

  • 1120 pounds+roids

  • yea take roids and anyone can do this...hell the roids do all the work...idiots there not fucking magic

  • Wow,that's just not humanly possible,unbelievable!

  • anyone know how much this guy can lift raw?

  • what is raw?

  • a raw bench is an unassisted bench press meaning that they had no kind of bench shirt to help them...

  • excuse my ignorance but what is a bench shirt and what does it do?

  • A bench shirt is a stiff supportive shirt, used to improve performance in the bench press, most often in powerlifting competitions. Bench shirts are usually made of polyester, denim, or canvas and come in single- or multi-ply thicknesses. Example of how much a bench shirt helps: Scot Mendelson, whose shirted bench press record is 1008 bs, while his unshirted best is 715lbs....hope that clears it up

  • thanks

kinda hard to believe a stiff shirt could add 300 pounds to a press

  • fat steriod bastard

  • how is kilogram ?

  • 508-510 Kilos

  • lol @ noobs thinking they know more than the best bencher on earth

  • any1 that said this wasnt a good lift? or it had bad form?? should just get out now. u clearly have no idea about powerlifting, so u have no right to say anything.

do you think any1 that didnt kno what they were doing would get under 1120 pounds? seriously some of the comments i read baffle me. im amazed at some peoples stupidity

  • he say HOLY FUCK???

  • Impressive, i wonder if he is free from drugs?

  • No hes got regular size arms but how cares that much weight shit this is the strongest man in the world well him and Andy and Scot and his lift looks like hes lifting 400 just as smooth that is insane props.

  • get under 1120lbs and say that again.

  • clearly you don't know much if your going to tell him to do a full rep when he's PURPOSELY board pressing, the whole point of board press is to start from like 3 boards and take 1 board out every week keeping the weight the same hes going to shoot at the same weight without a board in a few weeks.

  • Ryan Kennelly N.o.1

  • he has short arms. that's why he got it....

any short person can bench good if they work out right. they don't have much distance to put it up.

  • How many short people do you know that can do a 500+ kilo 1-board press? That's what I thought. I know you weren't being disrespectful, but this guy is 6'3". His arms are even longer than mine, but he knows how to use them so that he has an even shorter distance than me, but not by much.

  • ok. im short too, and i bench good.

    im just saying it's common.

  • notice his back arch, thats why he has less ROM

  • no ones impressed with your 185 bench

  • i dont think that 1.90cm man has short arms

  • your an idiot hes like 6'2 or 6'3 he doesnt hav short arms

  • lol @ 0:35 when he cusses. kennelly is a force to be reckoned with

  • id be scared just to be one of the spoters...jesus christ.

  • i like the way 3 guys help him lift it up! It should be "3 men help fat dude bench press 1120 pounds"

  • LOL the end HOLY FUCK!! XD

  • well, yea. im nerd math.

    really is.

    x8 (100LB)= 800LB

    x6 (45LB)=270LB

    and bar= 45LB

    mean 1,115LB

    am i clearly?

  • not all bars are 45.

    maybe at golds they are.

  • there is no way that bar is 45 lbs

  • its probably a 50 pound bar to handle that kind of weight

  • my bad, wasnt sure.

  • that a fuckin lot, but not sure if its 1120 lbs. i mean, theres 7 plates on both sides and even if they were 70 lbs. each (thats pushing it) the bar would have to be over 140 lbs. for it to be 1120. it could be, im jw. crazy lift tho.

  • Dude... The first 4 plates on each side are 100LB. PLATES!!! That's 800lbs just in 100lb plates, + 3 pies on each side, + the bar.

  • the first 4 on each side are 100 pound plates

  • What a silly discipline!

Would you call that an athlete?

  • well, when you can manage to get a gorilla to actually lay down on a bench and lift some weights, make a video about it...haha

and also, the ppl bitching about he didnt do a full rep....why dont you get your ass on camera lifting the same amount, until then, plz do us all a favor and STFU! =)

  • STERIODS

  • yeah steroids do magic ;)

  • yeah thats why everyone that roids can press 1120...fuckin idiot

  • huskerpower51 my comment was a reply to apds100 and it was a joke...fuckin idiot

  • bar looks about to break

  • Amazing,how a human can hold a half a ton, and press it,freakish!

  • Chimps are 10 times lb for lb stronger then people. Do some research

  • WOW! he, had like three other people helping him lift the bar. he can't really bench that

  • Okay then, why don't you go look up some of his videos of him bench pressing 1050-1075 with no boards and no spotters even touching the bar. He also has a very close attempt of him benching 1100 pounds. He could most certainly train himself up to this.

  • I love how they stuggled to rack it :D

  • haha anyone who says this is easy ur high go in a gym and try to even move this off the rack beat all the people sayin this couldnt get the 45 s of the holders this dudes an animal

  • wow the bar moved 2 inches! and for that little extra something they added a block of wood!? not a full rep! booooo!

  • it was so he wuldent hurt his chest u fucking retard;S ofc it was a full REP!

  • wow if that is a full rep then what is a half rep?! lol

u know nothing bout proper bench technique! i follow arnold schwarzenegger's technique u dummy! this guy moved the bar 2 inches!

  • haha follow arnolds techniques huh, well are you juicing? cause if not your overtraining....... dummy and u lift a 1/4 of that for a half rep i wanna see it. his arms dont go down far because his chest has more mass than your whole body

  • i mean his bench form u dummy, and also the reason he cant bring his arms down is cuz hes got 3 inches of fat on his chest and he is arching his back to the cracking point! u only suppose to arch a little and also wtf is up with the board! r u kidding me! this is joke! i saw the world record for bench press in 06 and the guy didnt do that crap! he did aful;l rep

  • his bench form is for powerlifting not body building, and no 3 inches of fat on his chest, and the board is a technique they use so that the bar gets pressed from a certain height because he cannot yet press that from his chest he may have started with 5 boards and removed them as he progressed now hes down to 1 soon he will be able to press it with no board.

  • son! all i know is that he movd the bar like two inches!

  • I think he moved it about 9 inches.

Anyway, this weight is crazy.... it's like 560 in each hand.

  • Part of the idea with powerlifting is to decrease the distance you have to lift - you aren't judged on how far you've moved the weight, but did it stop on your body and did you lift it back up to lock out.

If he did lift it any other way, it would be dangerous. Lifting like you would for body building would most likely cause you to rip your pectoral at a weight less than half of what he was doing in the video.

The amount of arching is questionable, but it can be used to help improve stability.

  • Oh, and it's a shirt lift, which is allowed in some competitions (and if you intend to win, required).

  • get ur facts straight dumbass, and thats a GYM LIFT

  • you obviously know nothing about powerlifting.

  • holy hell! a full grown chimpanzee couldnt lift that much!

  • a female chimpanzee weighing 140 pounds can haul 980 pounds with one arm.

your average chimpanzees, while half the size, are nearly twice as strong as the worlds greatest human powerlifters. an alpha-male could probably pick that up with its toes.

  • yeah it's crazy aint it. I dont see how animals with bones that thin are strong enough to hold that much. I wonder how much weight a real silverback gorilla could benchpress? I'm thinkin the bar would break.

  • a silverback in its prime could probably bench 2-3 tons. im not joking. if trained a gorilla could clean two family sized cars easily.

  • thats why they've never tried putting ufc fighters or martial arts experts in the ring with monkeys.

  • A chimpanzee cannot bench 1120 lbs. Give me a break. Yes they are strong for their size but that is complete bullshit what you just said. Maybe a gorilla can, but definitely NOT a chimp.

  • I really doubt that. Chimpanzees have evolved just using their own body weight in situations like climbing trees and jumping from tree to tree. Sure, they would beat any human in a pull ups competition or something similar, but when it comes to strength in terms of free weights, they would suck ass

  • an alpha-male if trained to do so could do this amount full range with some effort. i wouldn't say with toes though as in terms of apes the arms are stronger the legs. but their legs would still be very strong given they are always in a squatting position

  • this is a training method, he will slightly reduce the thickness of the board until he has none

  • no.......but your close...he'll actually just take the board away

  • nikka!!! his chest is soooooo high and his arms are sooo short that the bar moves an inch from the highest peak!!!!

and then he puts a wooden plank 42 inches thick to cover it up....okay

i agree this dude is IMMENSLEY STRONG!!!

but a a one inch bench press doesnt cut it in my world

  • well in order to bench that huge ammunts off weight you need a huge chest and some solid arms, thats the reason it looks like hes moving the shit only 2inches, quite ironic actually that the bigger your chest gets and the bigger your lift you dont have to move the bar so long:P

    anyways GREAT LIFT! really impressive=)

  • What's the point of the board? His chest and belly are so big, and the bench shirt so tight, the bar only moves about 3 inches anyway. Nah I jest, that sort of weight is incredible..I'm pretty sure people are not designed to lift nearly 1/2 a tonne with their arms.

I still do not agree, and never will agree with bench shirts - what's the point? I'm sure I could bench 2000lbs if I had a forklift truck spotting me...

  • that guy really shouldn't try to move the bar like that while dude was still on the bench

  • that guys arms were like a foot long lmfao

  • lol, thats what happens when you bench press too much.

  • 1120 lbs tu le decolle mm pas du bench fac avant de dir que les autre suck comment pas voir ske toi tu fait

  • WTF R U TRYN 2 PROVE??? U SUC!

  • 1/2 bench

  • very impressive, even though he's not bringing it all the way down because of his belly. still alot of weight

  • SAME HERE

  • The spotter on the left seemed to have trouble

  • and I dont blame him either!

  • good job, but to somebody this is like a job... look at him very big.. i wouldn't be that big to be the best in bench tbh

  • How 95% of you dont have a clue of that this guy is doing.

If you would be 2, 3 oder 10 times stronger if you have his range of motion than go ahead, put on weight, put on a bench shirt and show us what u can do.

Or shouldnt people who are "fat" (and he isnt really obese or somethin) and dont have 50cm range be allowrd to do meets ?

He IS the strongest Bencher at the moment, he may is one of the best benchers ever (even raw he is really really strong) and thats it.

    Point simple, point blank.

  • He is monstrous! He has alot of size to him, but I bet it's all muscle. I know the guy who held the senior records. He had a HUGE stomach. It was all muscle. Like stone.

  • I think its weird that people can talk shit about this lift-say shit about his form etc...its 1120 hes a world record holder he knows what hes doing

  • Yup, have these idiots replying can't lift 225 I suspect...

  • i love how his arms can't go down

  • its the bench shirt dumbass

  • what a fat turd this tub is..... lame.

  • lol, your internet banter dwarfs all his records.

  • well its enough to fuckin bench 1120 lbs

  • The technique is very very baaaaaaaaaaad! He can't raise that weight with a good technique and alone...!!!!

  • its 1120lbs at least he can get it up

  • Regardless of whether it's considered a rep it's still over 1000 pounds.. that's impressive

  • anyone who can even control that weight down and move it 1 inch up is crazy strong. I bench over 400lbs and I cant even dream of that weight

  • I think the board is there so that he knows exactly where to stop... cos the bar's meant to be 2 inches off the chest isn't it (or thereabouts)

Just a guess, I'm not saying I know or anything, I'm just speculating...

  • I wonder if the board is used as some sort of protection. Incase he couldnt complete the lift the board was there to stop his chest cavity from being crushed by the stalled weight.

  • This is why all of the weight organisations should agree on what a rep is...

Impressive that can move it at all, but really universal standards are required!

  • Yeah he can go down an inch and it still be considered a rep as long as it touches your chest. But what exactly was the board for? I've never seen that before.

  • ya it counts as a rep. he did that perfectly and if any of you now about powerlifting you would understand

  • I power lifted in college, and currently do at my gym. That was a horrible rep, and merely lifting heavy weight is not enough. Power lifters do judge your technique. I could probably dead lift twice as much if I only had to move the bar in inch.

  • i curl this weight with cheat of course

  • i very much doubt you'd even be able to hold it still... a very strong guys arms woudl krack under that pressure.

  • That's apples and oranges you dumbass. To be a great deadlifter, you have to have an almost opposite physique of a great bencher. I'll put it to you this way, Obsiously his form passes enough in competition so that his full ROM competition bench press is less than 50 pounds away from this. So go ahead and tell him he doesn't know what he's doing. He has an 1075 World Record in a lighter weight class than he is in this video. If you really PL, then you would know how amazing that is.

  • A) I'm pretty sure this guy knows more about powerlifting than you

    B)no you couldn't

  • A little late to comment aren't we? Almost as slow as your brain. Yes I could in response to you, and this guy obviously knows more about power lifting than any poster here. What is your point? Are you like one of his groupies, and is your bleeding little patch hurt that I think he fails. He lifts a lot of weight, but truly I am more impressed by raw lifters, and now people with four hands on the stack, and a piece of wood allowing like a three to five inch lift. I think he is a puss.

  • Idiot. that was a rep. if you go to your chest than its a rep. He has a large upper body, he went as far down as he could.

  • shit kennelly is a monster is the world strongest man is hulk

  • I dunno the form wasnt that great it was sketchy. Like it was a serious lift because there is a lot of weight but im not really convinced with this one. I dont say that counts

  • That shoudlnt even be considered a bench rep

  • That takes a lot of strength to do but, he went down like half a foot before he push it up. I wouldnt count that as a rep

  • 4 guys benches 1100

  • juice!!!!!!!!! n fat

  • how heavy are each of those plates

  • 2 lbs

  • 45 ibs usually

  • 100 lbs each plate

  • Outer plates are 45 . . inner 4 are 100lbs.

  • the larger plates are 100Lbs and the smaller ones are 45

  • i love how the back spot has his nuts on his face.

  • but his not like really lifting i dont get it

  • haha, welcome to the world of power lifting.

  • oops. typo. I meant 1115 in the first sentence**

  • That is actually 115...unless the bar itself is 5 pounds heavier than normal. he has 4 100 pounders on each side and 3 45's on each side. do the math. 100 x 8 = 800. 45 x 6 = 270.

800+270+45= 1115. so unless the bar is 50 its 1115..althought I doubt you could tell the difference of 5 pounds with all that weight lol.

  • dude the highest weight plate is not 45lbs. in the gym i work out in the biggest plates are 100lbs so he couldve had a few 100s on each side

  • this guy is a big..lol

  • thats just crazy rite there and dats way off da chart of non-natural

  • LOL, if you have 12 inch arms it's a lot easier!

  • o perfect your pathetically small upper arms should have an advantage then!
