If you do this in D/P, you'll be able to catch Arceus. The reason it doesn't works in Platinum is because Darkrai, Shaymin or Arceus doesn't appears unless you obtain the item from the Pokémart.

oh i forgot to mention when you go up stairs reload the graphics on the stairs and rebot do not go all the way up the stairs because the goes the rest of the way by himself ans than the fight starts

no hes there the flute event just opens the path so which means is you might need to take more steps and come back or we need another location my friends friend told me cause that he use the action replay for the flute and when the stairs pop up he went up the stairs and there was arceus so this just means where really really close
