  • I'm not **

  • Alls Ur doing is trying to help people why do people keep asking u about self peircing uve pretty much covered it all, ide never peirce myself and sometimes I two uncomfortable with a professional anyone can screw up

  • You can search bing.com for gauge sizes and they will show both mm and ga ;-}

  • Shiiit. I have my ear pierced at the top like you said, I got it done professionally but if I'd known you can paralyse half your face beforehand, I probably wouldn't have done it :o

  • Hey, I really wish I would have watched your video on self piercing earlier than I did... Two years ago, I thought it would be fun to pierce my nipples (Im a girl). I asked my mum, and she said no. Anyway, I went ahead and did it anyway. One of them turned out fine, perfect, no problems.. The other, however.. got a nasty infection and left lots of scar tissue, and I will be unable to breast feed on that side if I ever have children. Think if that happened to both sides? BTW, Im 15 now.

  • I agree that you have to go to a professional to get a piercing but how do you know how professional he or she really is ?Ok i get you have

your own piercer etc. but what if you're gong for the first time and you have no one to ask how good the percon actually is.

  • @Fr0mHelll You ask about their qualifications, make sure the shop is licensed, take a look around the shop in general checking for hygiene standards, make sure they open the piercing needle in front of you, and ask to see their autoclave.

  • 20mm=13/16" in the US for anyone wondering :)

  • Great video! I was just wondering where you got that jacket because I love it!!! xx

  • Ummmm...I don't know if I'm going crazy or something...but does anyone else see the little white orb zoom across the black towel behind her at 0:41...?

  • i love you haha,,you always get your point across!

  • I got my tongue done at a professional tattoo shop and I was friends with the piercer. He said to me "I'm putting a bigger bar in for the swelling" Which ofc you are supposed to do. He didn't. He put a normal sized bar in and during the 1 weeks healing process the swelling healed over the bottom ball and I had to get it pushed through by another professional tattoo/piercing shop which I usually go to. Having it pierced didn't hurt me. Having it pushed back through did... Alot. And bled... Alot.

  • u probably herd this already(might not be true, i dunno but this is what i herd): if you pierce tongue and on the wrong spot your tongue would get swollen and you will die! it is probably true cuz there is lot of vain's in ur tongue

correct me if im wrong :)

  • Love your rant/random vids-3

  • You shoudn't have to justify not wearing plugs to bed to anyone. The joke's on those who DON'T let their ears relax. You're letting blood flow to your ears every night and that keeps them healthy and thick and beautiful. They're just jealous because they take poor care of their own ears and they've probably ruined them. =)

  • Awesome I got my ear pierce when I was 16 put the regular square diamond eating for guys does it hurt when u do that like can I go back to it's original estate?

  • I had to laugh, when the person said they fall out because they are not "real" plugs...what does that even mean???

  • i had that part of my ear pierced (i got it done by a profesional) if i knew at the time about your face i would never have gotten it done, love your hair btw :) x

  • How is there such thing as fake plugs? lol, that's just stupid. I can wear double flared to sleep and they will still fall out, but sleeping with such large jewelery is super unconformable anyways

  • This is why I fucking love you...youre honest!!

  • Just want to say, i luv that u tell people these things, i sell Body Jewelry (not a piercer) and just did a booth at our county fair, soooo many teenagers were asking if i did piercings, i said no i am not certified , u don't even know how many said "I don't care will u do it anyway?" I was in a dirty, hay covered barn! I told them how unhygienic this could be and most did not even care! blows my mind. I have 2 teenagers myself 18 and 13 if they ever did this to themselves? omg!

  • It sligtly feels like you think we're all stupid....

    Most people know this...

  • @1234Hiccup I honestly don't believe she is being condescending, people tend to get rather intense when there passionate about something. You'd be surprised at how many people don't know this info or don't care. I think shes just really trying to get the point across to those who do care but maybe just aren't very aware.

  • Respond to this video... .... When I started getting pierced at 14 I didn't know jack but I thought what I knew at the time was enough. ( I was Wrong ), luckily at the very least I realized going to a pro would be better then my best attempt. Its always better to get good info out there and I appreciate the effort and think it was well said. Just my take on things....peace out

  • I ummm love you. Ok? Bye.

  • Maxine, I feel terribly sorry for you. You get all this bitching from your subscribers, yet you're so right. The only piercings I've done myself is my second lobe piercing, but my dad actually pierced it, and he used to pierce when he was younger. I hope more people realise how right you are, and stop being ignorant arseholes.

  • Good video, one question though... what did you say at 8:42? "Ive got all my little boys over here!"... thats what i heard but maybe you can show us or something because im fucking lost, hahaha :] stay beautiful

  • I Efing love you!!!!

  • actually, correcting myself: would I self-medicate at all? no, i would not. even if i read everything that came in the package of the medication, i would STILL see a doctor before taking in anything.

  • this is how I see it: would I self-medicate if I had something pretty serious? no, I would not. I wouldn't let my own mother medicate me because she's not a trained doctor. I'd go to a real doctor.

Same goes for piercings. would I do it myself knowing that so many things can go wrong? no. never.

  • YOU ARE SO PRETTYYYYY.....................I love your vidsss Maxine.. you have always some good pionts to talk about and you are always right.....

  • you have very valid points, but it feels like you are having a go at everyone, not just the people that have upset you

  • @CupcakeCasey92 eee i'm not! lol I just come across too strong sometimes when im talking about things im passionate about!

  • @bautifulfreak I just thought i should let you know, as that might be why some people are giving negative comments, for example people that have pierced themselves and have been lucky and not damaged themselves might not of known the risks before and feel as though you are targeting them, when you just want to inform people how serious it can be

  • props for saying this and not trying to be fake cool. you my friend are a cool cat.:)

  • maxine is so right! Self piercing is a proper no-no. Back when I was thirteen I tried to pierce my lip my self but thankfully, my mother (who is a trained nurse&endocrinology expert) caught me and freaked out! She told me all the dangers and it's just so good that somebody like Maxine has the balls to put the information out there. If complete idiots don't want her advice, let them be paralyzed.

  • i was just researching piercing my own smiley and cartilage when i came across this, thank you for making me realise its not worth it!

  • not that im saying he's wrong, but how can piercing it wrong up there paralyse your face? like what's so special about that top bit? what causes it to paralyse your face?

  • @xJ0RD4Nx i think it's if the needle accidentally hits a nerve

  • @xJ0RD4Nx Think about how many nerves are there, in any part of your body. That's a start! I'm not a specialist so I won't say more than that. :p

  • @METALLLCHICKKK666 yeah but i had mine done and its fine, and the piercer never mentioned it could paralys half your face so it freaks me out abit. because they should either not pierce there or at least tell you the risks

  • @xJ0RD4Nx If your pierce it WRONG there it will paralyze you. Your piercer did it correctly since your face isn't paralyzed. Which is a really good thing. Haha These people study the ananomy and such in order to do that for a living. But you have to realize that anywhere you get pierced is a risk.

Such as your tougne, there's major veins in there. If you pierce through one your screwed.

  • I agree to this video, I pierced my own septum but, I used a sterilised 14g Braun Cannula piercing needle, in clean conditions, with single use latex gloves, using jewelry which had been sterilised using an Autoclave and under the close supervision of a PROFESSIONAL body piercer (my best friends sister) who guided me through the procedure. Kids, don't be stupid, don't pierce yourself, unless you have the proper sterilised equipment, clean surroundings and the guidance of a qualified piercer.

  • I love your art in the background :D

  • love u maxine - this is so true. my sister recently got a professional to do her anti tragus. it got badly infected, the bar ended up INSIDE her cartlidge (nasty shit!) she had to get it cut by a doctor.

no joke people dont be dicks and say she is talking shit because she really isnt!

    XX

  • I can't believe people are ignorant enough to comment on this video disagreeing, when I'm walking in the city and see a 13 year old with a half sagging face, I know you were an idiot who thought piercing yourself is okay.

  • loving the jacket it looks amazing, also i have to say i love ur girls not that i was looking in that way but i am getting a pair because im flat and they look GREAT :) sorry if thats weird!

  • I'm So Fucking Stupid Cause I Pierce my Own Ears And Now I Know To Get It Done By Someone Who Knows EXACTLY What Their Doing

  • I find you incredibly attractive and logical. :)

  • I used to pierce my lip and nose. Now i know not to do it again.

  • Loved the video c:

But, I know this isn't really relevant with the topic of the video, but do you think you could do a tutorial on how the do the melted crayon art? :3

  • 20mm is also called 3/4s (:

  • Even if you don't think you'll catch an infection by piercing yourself, I know so many kids who take the DIY route and their piercings just look like shit compared to having it done professionally.

  • yes! i agree i was a teen and did my lip and it was not smart but i just got another piercing last mouth but at the tattoo shop i really was close to a vain in my lip and im lucky i did not hit it i have 3 lip piercing now and my ears at 32mm i wear no flare plugs i also wear 2 flare plugs but really plugs are plugs haha

  • @Kieko100 ever heard of punctuation?! And professional piercers are called professionals for a reason.

  • This video has scared me. I've pierced my cartilage several timesbefore. Thank goodness I'm not half-paralysed. I don't think I would have pierced myself if I knew this.

  • I love how the people that disagree with self-piercing say that what you`re saying is BS. Just because it hasn`t happened to them doesn`t mean it doesn`t happen. That`s something they can`t deny. Anyways love you and your vids. Haters gonna hate! haha!

  • can your face become paralyze from piercing your ear lob? one of my ears closes all the time so i have to punch it through again. is that bad? i think if u can stretch your ear lobs that maybe there arent any nerves in your lob like that but i could be totally wrong. by the way your awesome! let the haters hate;p

  • I love your laugh, is really cute. xD

  • I fancy you miss laydeee! i find you very attractive

  • When I was 16 I pierced my own tongue and that was such a stupid, stupid thing to do. I'm quite lucky that it didn't cause any problems. I wish that I had someone like you to tell me the huge risks involved with doing that myself because maybe I would have made a smarter choice. Great video :)

  • Why do people care so much about what you do? Fkn creeps

  • I have had my lip pierced for about 3 years now. I was wondering if you could give advice on how to get the hole to close or let me know if it will close..?! I dont want it to turn into a nasty black-head looking thing. and when i take it out it is a gross hole, and I somewhat regret getting it if it wont ever heal. So, Id appreciate your help! Thanks!

  • Im 16. I've been around people with piercings for years now. I've got friends in the industry who taught me how to pierce. I got needles and evrything from them, everything was clean and sterelized. I've got 16 piercings. I've done the ones in my ears myself, but i will NEVER pierce myself again. Half of my piercings rejected even tho i was using clean needles and was under the supervision of professionals. You never know what's gonna happen and im not gonna risk my life for a freaking piercing

  • i love you for being so real and honest. more people need to be this way. you're trying to help yet they think you're bitching so obviously they have issues. they wanna end up with MRSA, then be my guest. And if they feel the need to be dicks because you're expressing your opinion, then they can all go suck it! and for those who have pierced themselves and been lucky, obviously you did enough or you were extremely lucky. but luck runs out eventually

  • here's a teenage boy who fought for his life because he pierced his own lip. he got MRSA.. he's the news clip

    abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4807192

  • Not one lie Maxine. I love this video. People can be really fucking retarded piercing themselves. There is a REASON why body piercers need to be certified and take courses for it. People are just trying to be rebellious and stupid when they self pierce.

  • Maxine, i think your a wonderful women. im 16 years old and your someone i look up too because your REAL. you have your own problems and try your best too over come them and thats the type of person i want too look up too. you make very intellectual points about things and are just an all around beautiful person. thank you for being you xoxox

  • @MLGProphet You made me cringe.Stretched.Your ears are stretched.

  • @alliexxoo True, you must stretch your ears to have them gauged. which is how they are measured, telling how big they are.. so my ears are stretched with gauges so that they are gauged. i'm glad you know the correct terminology. my ears are currently gauged at 5/8.

  • @MLGProphet Gauge is the measurement of the jewelry.Your ears are 5/8ths of an inch. You wear plugs. The gauge of your plug is 5/8ths. Your ears are not 'gauged'.I'm terribly sorry you don't know the correct terminology.I suggest you watch a few ModxMovement videos, and theflatlandking's video on gauges.

  • @MLGProphet whoops,no, Your plugs are just 5/8ths of an inch.I forgot the gauge system ends at 00g

  • Comment removed

  • @MLGProphet You never gauge it. =)

  • @kieko100 wow! fuck you too! lol And I'm not pretty and talk bullshit. I talk the truth.

  • there are no risk the only risk you have it if you go to deep and hit something up only a moron would do something like that the only reson so called professional piercers tell you not to do it your self is cuz they lose money when people start doing it them selfs so in order to make money they feed you crack pipe bull shit in hopes of scareing you so you will pay them 50+ bucks to do it

  • @kieko100 rofl, learn to use puncuation man. The reason they're called professionals is because they are certified to pierce others. They know where all the dangerpoints are and it's better getting someone else to pierce you anyway, as they can see clearly what they're doing. Just because you pierced yourself doesn't mean others aren't at risk. I know people who've been very ill and almost died because they pierced themselves.

  • @kieko100 well you are 56 times lucky?! and? tell that to the people that died!

  • @bautifulfreak , none died.

  • @kieko100 Ummm "research" doesn't mean shit. An idiot can do that. If you are really a professional, THEN talk to me.

  • @kieko100 Keep it up then bud ;) It's not like she's telling people this for no reason, she's trying to warn and protect them

  • @kieko100 *Peircings, **Judge. You know whats also fucked up? your grammer. :]

  • @kieko100 56............... cool.

she isn't judging anyone, she's giving facts and examples so that people don't hurt themselves. she's not saying don't get this or that pierced. derrr

  • @kieko100 lol wow youre so cool

  • It's a good thing to air our your lobes :)

  • I love your videos!!!!!!! I love your plugs!!!

  • Thank you for always saying what we're always thinking. You are a voice for people like us, you and me, who have to say this sort of thing ALL THE TIME regarding body piercing. I get called stuck up, arrogant, a know-it-all, all this garbage because I actually know what I'm talking about. If these people gave two shits about this art form, or their own safety and well being, they'd be studying it as well. You are truly a voice for all of us. Thank you!!! <3

  • i have thought about doing piercings myself but then i don't think it is worth it cus of the risks thanks for educating people and the best way for people to learn is through shock

  • I doubt you'd be willing to ship prizes to America but I will gladly try to help.

  • I love your leopard print coat *___* and thanks again for making this clear, that piercing yourself is definitely risky and NOT as easy and whatever as some "lil" ones think.

  • I just cant focus on what you are saying you are way tooo dam sexy

  • I swear, Maxine, I've been watching your videos for a few years now and you literally look more and more beautiful with each passing video. Not only are you stunning, but you're witty, smart and cunning, too. I know you'll probably not see where I'm coming from, but after 196 YouTube videos, this is what I believe and swear by. You're a complete dream-girl... everything I could only wish for in a woman. Thanks for always being so knowledgeable and helpful. You're gorgeous, inside and out! :)

  • is it normal for your lobes to bleed a little bit while stretching? i'm going pretty slow, and i'm not rushing, but sometimes when i put my 3mm taper in it starts to bleed..

  • @rawrsophiex Blood when stretching is NEVER good. Pain is never good. The most you should ever feel while stretching is a very SLIGHT tightness or pressure. You should be waiting at least a month or two between stretches, if you're not, wait longer. You can also try the taping method, which is MUCH easier on your lobes than tapers are.

  • @Ryojiin thanks alot, you saved my ears :)

  • google it and you will find it jojoba oil is sold in holland and barretts and other health food shops try not to use vaseline or baby oil because the block the pores and ky jelly is sold in boots and superdrug holey butter is sold online and is worth getting :) jojoba oil is inexpensive just in case budget is a problem

  • @vampiresiren2 ohhh thankyou so much :)

  • @123HLC you are very welcome i sent some links into your inbox of good body jewellery sites where you can get the holey butter and some nice jewellery safe stretching

  • My brother was going to peirce his ear himself the other day, I stopped him and made him watch your video on how to peirce yourself. After watching it he didn't. Thank goodness.

  • In case anyone is wondering, 20mm is just over 3/4" :3

  • You're from Newcastle? Your Accent isn't much of a Geordie's I can't really hear it:') I'm from Durham:P

  • to the people that think she is talking shit PLEASE listen to her. I was stupid enough at the age of 14 to decide I was going to pierce my nose myself. However, the week before I did said piercing, a friend of mine pierced his own lip, caught an infection that wracked his entire body [no dirty needles or anything of that nature] and he sadly passed away at the age of 16. It is NOT worth losing your life over, many thanks to Maxine for bringing the dangers of this to peoples attention xxx

  • great vid. loved your jacket x

  • @misscupcake291 i meant to say i love your jacket not loved

  • brilliant vid as always maxine

  • it's so true. i wouldn't advice anyone piercing themselves. it doesn't make any sense why people would do such a thing. great video. :) you look lovely as always. xoxo blessings. xo

  • Watching ur videos make me miss living in England =(

  • "SHE. IS. A. FUCKING. ASSHOLE." I love it. :p

  • Thank you for educating people who think it's perfectly fine to do this.

  • what do you use to moisturise your ears? and what lubricant should i use when stretching? :)

  • @123HLC jojoba oil is good or they is stuff called holey butter that is specifically for lobes during and after stretching that keeps them moisturised and looking good a water based lube like KY jelly is good when doing the actual stretch too. some people use vaseline but its not advised because some people can get an adverse reaction to it as its petroleum based

  • @vampiresiren2 i cant find jojoba oil and holey butter anywhere! ive looked and i use vasaline with aloe vera and baby oil at the moment they seem fine but wanted the advice thankss x

  • @123HLC please dont use Vaseline!!!!! skin cant breath!!! just use nivea or any cream for hands or face

  • Comment removed

  • @pullthetrigger nope. i can't. i would't go elsewhere. however blue lotus looks ok x

  • @bautifulfreak Ok thanks for replying, appreciate it x

  • @pullthetrigger blue lotus is alreet, lass who does the piercings is propa canny and talks you through what you want and explains everything clearly. No bullshit + cheap.
