i got myself a 1981 yz 250, havent ridden it yet, it needed a complete restoration.... 3/4 of the way there now, i have a video of it running before i ripped it to bits. :D
Haha, you see my first video? That guy on the #21 Maico who won? That was just Amature. The white one in this video won Intermediate. I didn't get the experts, I just posted the link to the results. All the winners in Open were Maicos. Going there almost temps me to try out the 82 next year in Amature, who knows!
The Nationals might be OK, but it's all newer bikes and prolly lot of farters.
AHRMA is always good fun. You don't have to be good or an experienced racer. It's just the kind of thing where you go out there and have fun. I race vintage but those Maico 490's and stuff you have are post vintage.
Ya, they are evolution class or somewhat post evo class, they have linkage so they have to race in ultimate class, but at least you can race them. Someone had the same bike as my 82 at 3:26 and I did see an 83 250 in one of the races. My friends 81 YZ250 tho is Evo.
What a beautiful facility. I am on the opposite coast, dont think I will ever make it out there. Thanks for the vid!!

Of course, lot of nice bikes there, Maicos and KTMs. Even those old Yamahas are screamers.
