very nice video. extremely informative and professionally done. thank you so much! i'm making my own subwoofer at home, and this really cleared up a lot of things. :)
@antifaget only high bass :) for example, when you play Lil Jon - Bia Bia it shakes your shirt :) but that's all, it's not a match even for a cheap kicker
whats the difference in a subwoofer and regular speaker(difference in building materials) like i made a speaker but how do i turn it into a subwoofer????? PLEASE REPLY!!!
Dude I made it the same way you did EXCEPT OF THE MATERIAL same thing, i even tried making coils of wires of different thickness but it aint working for me :( is there anything specific i need to take care of??
@dbzAbhishek one very important thing is that the coil should be slightly above or slightly below the magnet. if the coil is exactly over the magnet, there will be no motion. also, even if your magnet is ring shaped, it might not have been magnetized along its hight. chechk the direction of magnetization. everything else is pretty straightforward. was this helpful?
@iintro79 I was planning to make an even better speaker and a video, but right now I'm unable to do so because I don't have tools and materials where I live and study.
kicker - has thinner surround; the diameter is generally smaller; has stiffer suspension; generally has lower excursion; requires smaller box volumes; reproduces higher basses better; and other more specific electromechanical charateristics
@iintro79 22AWG(0.64mm) is for something more serious, like a 15" high power low frequency driver. But you can't just build one, you need a magnet system which consists of some metal parts which improve overall efficiency. 26AWG(0.4mm) is great for a DIY project like yours. And 30AWG(0.25mm) is for something smaller and more sensitive, say 8-10", but this thin wire is harder to handle. good luck :)
how do you connected your ipod to the subwoofer

@kody87061 you can use the same materials, the difference is in the size and the physical parameters

why dont u play it in subwoofer enclosure ?

good question :)
kicker - has thinner surround; the diameter is generally smaller; has stiffer suspension; generally has lower excursion; requires smaller box volumes; reproduces higher basses better; and other more specific electromechanical charateristics
basser - the exact opposite

@svinec thanks for answering im going to go build one now

@svinec kk i got 22 gauge 26 guage and 30 gauge wire so those would all be able to work right?
