More than anyone, George got me to think, "Well, what about the spritual?'

  • This song is like getting high without any drugs.....

  • I see so much arguing over religion in the comments. This is exactly the last thing George wanted...

  • @Trocker7 So right, so right, Harrison wanted everyone on the earth to get along, his last words were "Love one another" which is actually what Jesus told everyone, I know it's in the Bible somewhere, but just because someone is different from you doesn't make them bad, unless they fill everything they believe in with hate, come on everyone, all you need is love....

  • @ociee117 Very true. It's also what Mohammed said, what Buddha said, what Krishna said, etc. One thing I've learned recently, is that the sole purpose of every religion on Earth is only to seek good and love.

  • This is a truly beautiful tune, soulful album. I have question for anyone who knows: why is it "re-mastered"? I thought it was the last one he did. I haven't listened too closely yet, but it seems to me that the re-mastered is a bit "too cleaned".

  • PS. Oh, letter "r" is missing in one of my words.

    Can you spot it ?

  • Good ear. Marwa is an early evening raga often with dusk; the rasa(mood) is associated with quiet contemplation before the onrush of night. I have a fantastic recording by Ravi Shankar from 1968("In New York" on the Angel label -still availableon cd). The raga is sometimes colored apprehension or expectation, which might explain why George Harrison - a man filled with love and longing - found himself moved to represent all of those emotions in Marwa Blues.

  • Christ Himself said "narrow is the path to salvation and few find it, and wide is the path to destruction and MANY will pass through. As for APPLESCRUFFS and your "ELITE" university, they should have taught you that your perpetual motion system CANNOT EXIST, because perpetual motion produces more energy than it consumes which goes against the thermodynamics law of conservation of energy. Maybe you skipped class that day at your elite university. When it comes to God, you can't teach common sense

  • Well you are another of those who are "brainwashed into thinking that the earth is millions of years old when the SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE shows a very young earth that was created instantaneously, just as the bible teaches (around 6000 years old). You obviously do not know why you get condemned to hell either. Since the new covenant, there is only ONE unforgivable sin. That is the rejection of Christ's work on the cross. As for your percentages, they are probably pretty close to being right.

  • there's people counting years who are about 4.000....and, If you make the counts right, you will see that 2.000 + the time the bible says that things dured, it will be way over than 6.000, probably than 15.000

  • In spite of the religious arguments here, this song is great.

    My view:

If God exists, He created science, so I disagree with both of you. (Not Scientific Creationism gobbledygook either.)

And if you go to hell for not believing in some particular religion's idea of God, that is ridiculous, if 30% of the people on Earth are Christians, 70% are NOT going to hell for believing otherwise. And what about cavemen 50,000 years ago, are they condemned?

  • Any religion that demands you turn off your logical brain is ridiculous!

God is either omniscient and indifferent, or not as omnipotent as some wishful-thinkers think! (Or God doesn't exist at all!)

  • God would want us to analyze the world using logic, mathematics, and science. If a particular religious concept is soundly refuted by scientific facts (such as the supposition that the Earth is a mere 10,000 years old) it should be discarded. But sadly, people can't handle the truth, and end up rejecting the scientific method outright.

Let go of the teddy bear, and slowly back off...

    The truth is scary.

(I know, I know, those kiddie stories have happy endings, but you are a grown-up!)

  • You obviously googled some big words and actually have NO IDEA what the hell they mean. Go out and actually pick up a science book that deals with thermodynamics.

  • Give it up, idiot. I didn't have to "google big words"; I went to an elite university, cretin.

Hey, you should try to go to school, too. I would suggest that you start by "picking up a science book." But you don't know how to read, and you certainly don't know anything about "thermodynamics," let alone physics at large, or you would have recognized the rules I posted in rebuttal to your howlingly stupid attempt at (un)intelligent design fairy tales.

This site is for Harrison, not dingbats.

  • The perfect order in which the universe operates should be enough for anyone with ANY common sense to realize that there is a God in charge. If you just LOOK AROUND, you see that the first law of thermodynamics HAS BEEN VIOLATED. Matter can neither be created or destroyed, yet we HAVE MATTER EVERYWHERE. SOMEONE obviously has the power to create something from nothing and violate our own laws of science. No one on earth has ever gone into a laboratory with nothing and came out with something.

  • Take your religious cretinisms off line, you ignorant hick. You make a laughable post hoc ergo propter hoc logical fallacy. An analogy of your silly reasoning: because TV receives images of man, and because man is in the image of god, ergo God sends the images!

    "RELIGULOUS"

Yeah, moron. There is no "someone" behind the first law of thermodynamics, and if you had a brain you would know that Quantum Physics calls the first law into question in any event. You mistake "someone" with "something"

  • By the way. Have a nice eternity! Don't forget your sunblock 1,000,000.

  • No scientific credibility? Actually, if you took the time to do a LITTLE research, you would find that our own scientific laws, such as the first two laws of thermodynamics, show logically and intellectually that God does exist, but obviously you come up short on the intellectual end. As for "who cares", you are going to care big time when you stand before Christ and try to explain why you rejected His free gift of salvation. Pretty funny that you refer to yourself as an open minded thinker.

  • What idiotic hokum. The " laws of thermodynamics" merely describe describe the specifics for the transport of heat and work in thermodynamic processes.

The zeroth law of thermodynamics provides the foundational definition of temperature; entropy of the universe always increases, or (equivalently) that perpetual motion machines are impossible.

These "first two laws" actually give a logical basis for the IMPOSSIBILITY of the existence of "god" (i.e., "perpetual motion machine."

    You are a joke.

  • hey, Ms. sucking-on-your-own-tubesteak, don't bandy about concepts ("thermodynamics") about which you, a christo-fascist bumpkin, know nothing about. If entropy in the universe always increases, and perpetual motion machines are impossible, than an all-seeing, all-knowing, "perpetually-in-motion" god is impossible.

Physics provides no prove of any god, let alone your psychopathic, racist bearded dude in the sky.

Take it elsewhere. Your dark idiocy is unworthy of George Harrison's brilliance.

  • No oropher,"allah" is definitely NOT what I call God. You show your lack of knowledge of what islam teaches. "allah" is the pagan nonexistent god that muslims choose to worship instead of the God of the bible. The koran makes that perfectly clear. The bible tells us that Christ is God. The koran says Jesus was just a man who was a prophet, no greater than Moses or Abraham. That is blasphemy. Christ acknowledged being God, He accepted worship, and proved He was God through his many miracles.

  • Yourtubesteak is showing. As in, WHO CARES about your ignorant, self-serving, bigoted, and laughable circular reasoning, i.e., God exists because the Bible says so, and God wrote the Bible.

Listen, you Red-State moron, your "arguments" have NO intellectual, academic, and scientific credibility. But they are splendid examples of religious hokum, fundamentalist stupidity, Red-State ignorance, and militant anti-intellectualism.

This site is for Harrison aficionados and open-minded thinkers.

  • George finally searching for something else.

Difficult for us, the living, to define. He knew he was finally dying. And as he was facing his own life, and death, perhaps he was looking at life on the one hand and the beauty of dying on the other.

  • beautiful....people should be required to listen to this before they start their day...there would be alot less hate in the world

  • this can bring a tear to a glass eye, rip george ;(

  • Yeah, George could compose and play 'em. He's for the Ages now, and a track like this shows why.

  • listen, you moronic christo-fascist, when you cease to walk this mortal trail, when you are deceased, when you are, as Cleese said of the dead Parrot, AN EX MORON, there will be no bearded daddy figure, no blond-haired Teutonic appropriation (talk about racist con job, Jesus of the Middle-East/Africa looking like a Hippy from Munich, Germany) of the JEWISH Rabbi, "Jesus" to greet your sorry soul.

You will be dead, done, and deceased. No Heaven. No Hell. Only silence from your idiotic lips.

  • OK believe that your "God on a Stick" is the only one that had something profound to offer the world. In reality the earth has produced many. You can choose to believe the fairy tales in order to justify your prejudices but if you were listening to his words (which were written by others long after his crucifixion) then you'd be respectful & open to theologies of others which are all just myths and metaphors based on mysteries revealed through the laws of nature. Everything is God. Luv this song

  • actually, allah is pretty much what you call god, it's just the name the muslims gave him.

It's like this, you cretinous christo-Fascist: Your "evidence" is LAUGHABLY biased and carries NO WEIGHT for educated, rational, intelligent individuals.

  • Of all your videos... so far this is my favorite! It's lovely... and it was one of my favorites off the album.

Is anyone else pissed that Jeff Lynne (egomaniac) directly ignored the wishes of his dying friend by overproducing this album? I mean, who the hell is Jeff Lynne to ignore Harrison's wishes that this album should sound like a demo?

  • No.

McCartney was pissed that The Long and Winding Road was overproduced but it sounds much better than the original version Paul wanted.

Producer's gotta have input too. You think Dhani would have let the album be released if it didn't sound it's best?

  • I agree; Paul is a great songwriter, but I have to say that the orchestrated version sounds better. If you listen to "Yesterday" with George Martin's arrangement and then listen to the Beatle's live version, you will notice that the string quartet are adding incidental chords which Paul is not playing on the guitar. George Martin's expertise is often unappreciated.

  • No.

George gave him the tapes to sort what George wanted to him to do.

  • God bless you, George!

  • beautiful song
