A great series that went out at just the right times before it became unbearable like some other series (Friends, The Simpsons) and it gave you and ending that while appropriate for a series finale, also left you wanting more. And that's always the way a good show should end
You can kinda see how all the people at the Radio station are kinda sad that it's the last episode. I watched an interview with the cast earlier, and they said that the week before the last episode was very emotional for all of them. It really shows how much they care about eachother and the show. This episode was the best ending a smart, hilarious show could've had. Thankyou for the vid!
man i remember that fatal day when fraisier left the air it was a great series its on top of finals as fresh prince and and senfeld sad but yet a great final that does not leave you indefrent was great hope that there a serie out there and in the future that will leave me sad the see it end....
@p1erced The people who rang in on Frasier's radio show were celebrity guest voices. At the end credits of every season final, from season three up, they put the pictures up of all the people who rang that season. So in one episode of the last season, for instance, Hillary Duff's voice would have been heard, talking on Frasiers show.
The recital of the poem seems to me that Kelsey Grammar is saying goodbye to the character of Dr Frasier Crane himself, and also speaking to the fans of the character who've watched him for 20 years playing him.
This breaks my heart. I remember just breaking down when this particular episode aired. My world turned upside down. There will never be another show like this, it is an absolute phenomenon. There's only one other show that I have ever remained so attached to. Long live Frasier!
when hes sitting there in the station... at his last broadcast, with his friends, family, and coworkers there.. its a truly touching moment. having seen his work and cheers, and loved his talent in this show i can say, goodnight fraiser, and sleep well, becuase im listening
@gillybeans73 :-( so true. Sometime after the show ended, the people on NPR were discussing how Frasier was even a better show than Seinfeld and/or Friends.
I love this show. The acting and writing in this show were so funny yet serious and the timing was perfection. It was like tuning into this man's life everyweek. I miss this show but I don't think it can ever be duplicated or recreated. Truely a classic and I hope I get to be a part of a show as iconic as this one.
@baywatchrules12 to check out his chances with his last girlfriend, who moved to Chicago. Also, he wants to show that despite being divorced in college, jilted at the altar, cheated on by his second wife leading to another divorce (though they briefly reconciled), and having a series of failed relationships in Seattle, he does not want to give up on love.
@mrchrisman that's because he said: i want what you have.
What they have, is each other, and Frasier just met his soulmate who went to chigago, instead of san fransisco. He has flew to love and hapiness in chigago instead of his new job in san fransisco.
My favorite sitcom of all time...and for all time. I haven't found one on tv that even holds a candle to this one. It was appointment television for 11 years for me. I actually found myself choking back tears during this finale episode.
I suppose it had to end sometime. One of the most intelligent shows ever made- and the performance of Moose as Eddie the dog will go down as the greatest canine performances on TV.
I will never get fed up of this show! I have watched it many times over and just love ever person in it. From Cheers to Frasier, it's just been the best. Thanks for all the memories.
Relatively the same thing that happened in the final episode of Fraiser... Not exactly the same thing of course, but relatively. Everyone moves on and starts a "new chapter".
That ending alludes to Frasier's final speech, wether he succeed or not, the important thing is he's no regreting about go after Charlotte. I guess i'm proyecting myself in Frasier cuz i'm on the same situation, wish me luck 2...
i have only started watching frasier lately and have fallen in love with the show and all the characters. fraiser is so lovable. I want more!! would be nice for a reunion in the future to see how the characters have developed.
Too bad the father ended up marrying this woman, she is notthat funny and not suitable at all for martins character. Is it really credible that martin at the age of 70+ hooks up with this tall stunning woman that even i would go for (im 22)? Why not choose someone like Sherry who certainly did have faults, but at the end of the day was so much fun and right up martins alley?
That aside, Frasier is by far the best series ever.
- But I see how such an ending could've been too...finite. All missions accomplished, with nothing left to do or go see or experience for these characters. It just would've been nice to see a small glimpse of a prosperous and calmer future for frasier, much like the vision of Niles and Daphne having another child after Niles's brush with death in an earlier episode.Showing the same for Frasier would've been a cool thing to do.
I dont agree, there are many happy endings that have nothing to do with finding a perfect mate or having a baby. There is work, health, friends, volunteering, serving etc. You have a very narrow viewpoint of what 'happy' means.
Apparently you took a "narrow" look at my comment. I'm not talking about real world happiness here, this is a tv show. Look at frasiers character,he couldn't make it work with the best of women and they left us hanging like that? The series ended with the viewers not knowing whether he failed or not and that sucked. It would've been fine if it wasn't the "series" finale.Raymond ended it right, Robert finally found a wife in the end...frasier's audience of 11 years deserved to see him succeed.
1. Why isn't bulldog there during the peom? Seriously,it's the LAST time we get to see the ENTIRE CAST!!
2.Though the ending implies frasiers new found wisdom/freedom/ballsy risk taker determination...finally... and (CHANCE) of happiness, thats all they give us,did frasier really change or was it Seattle all over again? Though it ends with a hopeful smile,I believe people like a Raymond style end where big brother gets a spouse too and they all fade together as one happy family.
i very much remember being the oddball at the time when this finished as it finished around the same time (here in the uk anyways) as friends and sex and the city and me and all my friends at the time were all around 16 and everyone else was talking about how much they were gonna miss friends and sex and the city, i was the only one who brought up frasier and how much id miss it, they all thought i was weird...lol oh well, making my way through the dvds right now, on disc 2 of season 5
I was a devout Seinfeld fan and this show was after it but I never paid attention to it. After I seen the episode where he loses a tape of his radio show from his collection, Ive been a huge fan since.
Well it doesn't surprise me you didn't pay attention to it. Every guy and his brother salivates over Seinfeld and hardly pays attention to anything else. That's not to say that Seinfeld's bad. Just that its humor epitomizes the "laddish" behavior that every guy tries to emulate in life. I saw a Yahoo article a few months ago that had men write in and ask questions about women. 1 doofus lifted the entire "afraid of spiders but can wax their legs" Seinfeld joke as his own. Talk about obsessed.
