  • Dude I have a 24v 2001 vp44 driven cummins and I hear that exact same noise in that video, its that cherping/tick....wtf is that?

  • I want this video on my G7206 phone.

  • This video went viral on Taiwan

  • sounds like a frog lol

  • I love the way a p-pumped 24valve sounds but I love my vp44 to much!

  • cant beat the sound of that gear drivin pump

  • it idles... but lets see it preform

  • nice!!!

  • AWESOME sound :-D !!!

  • the only problem these trucks had was a cracked dash.

  • 0:05

     Ever done a burnout

  • @FreeSkier155 I would say it did it's share. When I sold it there was still rubber in the front fender wells.

  • ya know the set up looks great i must say.... i'm not the best person out there for working on certin things but FINISH YOUR FUCKING WORK!!! you leave things unhooked and not lashed down that makes the whole setup bad. hook the grid and don't use scotch locks it looks tacky.

  • @IHkid I had literally just finished it and brought it home. Thanks for your comment but the video was for the guys asking to see it right away. I had a 100 mile trip to make in it that week. I was more worried about it all working properly rather than winning a show and shine.

  • with a p-pump mechanical injection, do stock 12 valve injectors fit in the 24 valve head? Im considering what drivetrain to use for me diesel swap in a newer gm 1/2 ton options are idi or obd2 heui 7.3, or 12 valve or 24 valve vp cummins. although, i would enjoy a 24valve p pumped cummins too. but as far as making 5-550hp, 8-900#-ft, and decent milage, as well as cost of conversion, and time.

  • @jmanwild no the 12v injectors will not work. The VP44 24v injectors are all mechanical themselves and fire at a certain pop off pressure. If it were me I would do the 12v just for simplicity. I like the 12v I have now quite a bit. If I was starting from scratch I would take a 12v but that is just me. If you like adjustability on the fly the VP44 isn't as bad as it is made out to be. I would own another 24v if I was just going to do minor upgrades.

  • @2141pete yeah everyone says "buy a 12 valve they can make like 1000 horse easy. Im not looking for 1000 horse." I want a street driveable 500 ish. (or just under) i loved my 24 valve. just press the button for milage, power, whatever. But as far as making the swap simple i may go 12v. gotta be p7100 tho, i wonder how much work it will be to get a lock-up 47re in it. (or 46 i guess?) are the 94-98.5 cummins autos lockup tranny's?

  • @jmanwild 1000 hp easy well maybe easy work but certainly expensive to build

  • alright, question, i have building a 24 valve and debating on just putting a vp 44 injection pump on it or the P pump. its going in an 2001 dodge cummins, is there any way if i put the P pump on it that you can correct the dash lights, like check engine, ETC? respond please

  • @GavinSuperFly easiest way that i could come up with to get the lights off was to pull the cluster out and break the bulbs with a set of needle nose pliers.

  • Does the p pump improve mpg over the vp44 I've always heard the old 12 valves get better mpg than 24s?

  • @cammingchevy it all depends on setup.

  • p-pump is another way of saying big fuckin power

  • @hagination922 hahaha nice

  • that thing has a nice soundin lope

  • hey do you think a 24 valve can fit in a el camino? please respond

  • @bobbyjsd It will take alot of work but yes it will.

  • whats p pumped? something with the injectors?

  • @SteveFrench306 A Bosch P7100 inline mechanical injection pump

  • @2141pete so that is basically a port/helix style pump then? Looks pretty neat

  • WRF is a p-pump?

  • i bet this truck goes like stink

  • @wheelin888 I think the guy that owns it now will make it even faster.

  • The Ats compounds ate the best set of twins on the market right now Ats all the way for me I also live about an hour from them

  • @08farmer I would have to disagree with ATS being the best on the market. They make descent stuff but not even close to the best.

  • loose ground bro, filthy p pumped 12 valve though.

  • @Srvrlz I dont use the grid heater it is just in because I needed a spacer.

  • How much did you do the swap for?

  • @marklax1 it was a couple grand with the cam and everything.

  • some1 explain.. is p pumpin a 24v jus makin it machinal insted of electral?

  • @biglilballa Yes I changed from a VP44 to an inline mechanical pump.

  • how much did that set up cost ya?

  • What kinda twins do you have? I noticed the BD Power

  • @1973RoadRunner440 I had BD towing twins

  • @2141pete How did you like them? I've been thinking about going with ATS compounds

  • @1973RoadRunner440 They were ok but way too small for me. I wouldn't be able to recommend anything for you without knowing about your truck. I will say you can get alot better kit for the money than the ATS twins though.

  • Nice truck man

  • what turbo is that?

  • @CumminsCoal1 S471

  • im not a big fan of those types of rims but hey its your truck and it looks nice and sounds good

  • did u get al lthose lights on the dash taken care of or are they constantly on cause of all the mods?

  • @knicholas83107 The CEL will be there forever unless I take out the bulb. The others I am still chasing and will more than likley take them out too. They have been that way since I rebuilt the front end. I have changed everything twice and they wont go away.

  • @2141pete ok so ay something was going out on the motor that would cause the engine light to come on would you not be able to tell since its always on anyways?

  • @knicholas83107 The only thing it would tell me that I dont have a guage for is that my injection pump is going bad. doesn't really matter now that it is a mechanical pump that won't read through the ECM anyway.

  • sounds like a dying powerjoke..

  • @bubbleboyE40 Show me a dying powerstroke with 600+hp or more than an handfull of healthy 600hp ones??????????

  • Thats a lot of Fault codes up on the dash it looks like

  • Did you take the fuel shut off solenoid off???

  • @brcsta51 I just run a shutoff cable. One day I will stop being lazy and wire up the new shutoff solenoid I have sitting in the garage though.

  • Its really a shame they put such an amazing motor in such a shitty truck. Nice truck though.

  • @CockYaLegS I agree.

  • why is it lopping kind of?

  • @torquethat I may have had the 4k GSK just a little out of adjustment.

  • Pretty clean set up until you get to the twins. Who's are those? BD's? Diesel Power? Anyway, lose the spring loaded clamps and silicon hoses and you have really clean set up! Nice work

  • @poldrag08 im no expert but im sure the clamps are springloaded and there is a silicon hose for a reason?

perhaps to provide a point that will break before the turbos, thus saving the turbos?

im not sure... maybe an expert will know and could help explain.

  • @poldrag08 Twins have been gone for a while it has an S471 as a single now. They were BD's though. I want to build a 64/S480 set soon.

  • did you do the conversion your self or pay to have done?

  • @91nmr I did the whole swap myself. The only thing I havent done myself on this truck is the actuall build of the tranny.

  • @2141pete how hard was it?im tryin to talk my teacher into leting me p-pump a 24 valve next year for school

  • @91nmr depends on whatever else you want to change while it is apart. It isnt too bad pretty much a cam swap then change a gearhousing and a few other things while it is apart. Tuning it all in once it's done will be the most challenging part.

  • @2141pete is "p-pumping" where u have a 24 valve cummins motor, and you swap out the electrical injection pump, for instance a p7100?

  • dude that cam makes it sound awesome

  • have u ever had problems with ur VP? cuz i fried mine even with a FASS along with the edge comp. i think its cuz of the low sulfur diesel fuel

  • @9412vpullin the vp44 is not a very reliable pump. too many people have problems with em.

  • @9412vpullin I went through 3 of them. If you run additives and feed them with a good lift pumps the newer ones seem to hold up alot better than what was availible a few years ago.

  • what has this truck dynoed at

  • @yfz450lover it did 600 and 1200 before with the VP44 and twins. I dont know what it is at right now.

  • NIce ride man what kind of fuel mileage do you get after installing the p pump?

  • @MaxFordyce I have seen a best of 18-19. Mine has not always been the best on milage though.

  • I like how the gauge cluster is lit up like a fucking christmas tree, very clean, nice build man

  • @kawirider206 I see by your profile you run a "performance shop" but you have no vids. Either you have nothing to be proud of or are another off the shelf diesel guru. How many P-pump swaps have you done? Aparentley none if you dont know a few lights will be on. I would like to see some of your work if you have links? Perhaps some dyno or track footage from your personal vehicle?????

  • @2141pete Thank you for the compliments then. As far as the punk part goes you will have to understand with all the youtube asshole pro's I can misunderstand a comment. I am probly not near the Punk most would think.

  • @kawirider206 i dont run it, I work part time when Im not doing my other job. I do a few little things, Ive never done a p7100 swap, my bud has done a few. And I do know a few lights will be on, considering the computer is flipping the fuck out since it "no longer has an injector pump" as it would think . And Ive only had one dyno run on my 98.5, 569 rwhp, 1135 rwtq, dont get all shitty punk, I was complimenting your video hence the very clean, nice build man at the end

  • @kawirider206 Thank you for the compliments then. As far as the punk part goes you will have to understand with all the youtube asshole pro's I can misunderstand a comment. I am probly not near the Punk most would think.

  • @2141pete You very welcome man, I know your not a punk, Id like to convert mine, its been eating injector pumps like m&m's here lately. They are warrantied but I get tired of taking them off, Ive got so good at it i can swap one in about an hour and a half or less lol. What kind of mileage you getting? Id say close to 20??

  • qu viva la yoyota hijos pe puta

  • your idler pulleys goin

  • @lancasterpremium What would make you think that?

  • not a big dodge fan but props on a sharp cummins!

  • I hate didge pickups but wouldnt settle for another engine. When this truck falls apart it will go in a ford or chevy.

  • what year is that truck?

  • 2002

  • good looking and sounding truck dude

  • Thanks!!

  • its not the cam, i think its because of a much higher fuel pressure. idk i could be wrong

  • I is also nothing to do with fuel pressure. A P-pump actually has considerably less injection pressure than a VP44.

  • its surging because of the cam thats in it

  • The cam has nothing to do with the fuel delivery in a diesel injection system. The lope come's fromt he way the pump is set up.

  • i just wanted to know what benefits does the p pump have. is the engine suppost to be surging like that?

  • Reliability and horsepower are the benefits for me. Most 24 valves that have been changed over Idle a little different like that.

  • wow pete! looks sharp! what did she ever wind up making on the dyno after her "heart transplant"??

  • thanks man it only did 500hp but I have done a little more tuning and I was missing 20-25 psi of boost. I will get back on at suncoast on a heavier dyno.

  • nice work pete. I guess mine isnt the only one that sounds knocky as hell.

  • Thanks man it definetley has alot different sound to it now.

  • what turbo set up do you have my buddy built on out of a 96

  • It just has the BD towing twins for now.

  • im pickin my p pumped 24v up tomorrow...its quite an expensive build isnt it? lol

  • I am definetley happy with it afte almost 4k miles. It can be expensive depending on how you go about it.

  • Very nice job. any idea how much power?

  • It did 500hp after thwe swap but it needs alot more tuning. I was missing 20-25 psi of boost on all the dyno pulls too.

  • Beautiful..5*s

  • Thanks
