@brooklynbred - you don't open the plug-in at all, it just needs to be installed. You need to copy and paste the file to your scripts folder in GIMP, then restart GIMP. If you use Windows, Scripts are put in the folder here: C:\Users\YourUserName\.gimp-2.6\scripts - this is explained in the description under my video.
@billps34 I'm sorry. I didn't mean plug in. When I click on "advancedtonemapping.scm" its asking "what should firefox do with this file?" Options are "open with" then there is a drop down list. Next there is an option for "save file" which asks where to save it. I'm sorry to keep bothering you with this.
@brooklynbred You need to save the .scm file, just save it on your desktop, then you need to copy and paste the .scm file you downloaded to the GIMP Scripts directory at C:/Users/YourUserName/.gimp-2.6/scripts. Then Restart GIMP, the script will now be installed.
@naturalbornstunter sorry I've never used gimp on a mac, but you can find out where your scripts folder is located on any type computer. In GIMP click Edit > Preferences, then click Folders, scroll down and click on Scripts to select it. The location of the scripts folder will be displayed.
Hi, I love this tutorial and I am trying to download the Advanced Tone Mapping plug-in but when I click the link I just see the script and there is no option to download the advancedtonemapping.scm file you mention.
